User-Friendly PR Tool with Outstanding Support

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that Meltwater is one of the most user-friendly PR tools out there. The media relations engage tool and explore tab are where I spend a lot of my time because the Boolean search is so easy to curate and narrow down to what exactly I'm looking for. The initial setup was super easy, and Meltwater has excellent customer support if needed. Additionally, the Mira companion is also helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd love to build a coverage report or campaign report not from a saved search. That would be amazing in the explore tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Meltwater to combine social media and PR on one platform, making it user-friendly for media outreach and report building. The boolean search feature helps curate precise information.

Efficient for Social Management, But Limited Video & Story Features

What do you like best about the product?
I really like Meltwater’s feature of being able to post to multiple profiles. This feature helps us a lot, especially since we’re a small team with many roles—it makes posting to our multiple brands much easier and saves us time. Also, adding additional profiles was easy, and our account support team is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm disappointed that the Story feature is not as robust as it should be. You can only post to an Instagram story, whereas for free, you could post to Facebook and Instagram from Meta Business Planner. It feels like you don't get your money's worth in this area. Also, posting videos is a bit of a hassle because I believe there is still a 5MB size limit, which means we end up using Meta Business Planner and logging into each platform to post our videos.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Meltwater for social media management. It helps our small team manage multiple roles by making posting easier, saving time by allowing us to post the same message to various brands quickly.

Exceptional Onboarding Experience with Helpful Training

What do you like best about the product?
The onboarding process was a dream come true. I had multiple training sessions with a lovely trainer, Bridget, who made set-up easy and understandable. It was lovely that my onboarding process was led by a kind, thoughtful human being.
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn't catch everything, all the time. I don't know if a single media monitoring software that does. I still have to manually check many media outlets to see if something was lost. It's usually in the database, but doesn't always get pulled into my searches.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater helps me create an internal newsletter that includes all of our media clips for the week.

What do you like best about the product?
Social platform to manage and post on LinkedIn. Able to give management a view into our plans.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't see the social platform - something about my security isn't working yet. Have to use my personal PC.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Able to see everything in one place. Previous social media solution did not allow us to tag people - this one does.

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Meltwater's ease of use, which significantly reduces any headaches while effectively allowing me to gain the insights I need effortlessly. The in-depth insights provided by Meltwater enable my team and me to gain a deeper understanding of what is being said about our brands online versus our competitors. This is crucial for identifying potential areas of opportunity and improvement. I am particularly impressed by the excellent support from the account management and support team, who are incredibly helpful in setting up booleans and curating reports accurately. Such responsiveness and support, especially during the onboarding and learning process, is vital, and Meltwater excels in this area. The transition from Mentionlytics to Meltwater was seamless and significantly improved because of the customization offered for our needs. Overall, Meltwater's intuitive platform, insightful analytics, and exceptional customer support make it an invaluable tool for managing and understanding brand presence and sentiment online.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit cumbersome to compare different date ranges within the same report due to the need to create multiple widgets for each brand. This results in long reports that executives find difficult to navigate. A more streamlined reporting feature that allows for easier comparison of data ranges without flipping between pages would greatly enhance usability.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Meltwater for social listening, providing my team deep insights into customer issues and sentiment analysis, helping us identify improvement areas. It offers an intuitive platform with support for setup and reporting, aiding strategic brand comparisons and opportunity identification.

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate how Meltwater offers a thorough overview of our media coverage, highlighting relevant industry topics from both news sources and social media platforms. I also find it valuable that I can quickly generate analytics whenever necessary. Furthermore, the option to integrate coverage from Presse-Monitor PMG is particularly useful, as it enables us to include print coverage from Germany.
What do you dislike about the product?
One drawback I’ve found with Meltwater is that it only includes print coverage if you connect it with PMG. Additionally, I think the social media tracking features could use some improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I needed a media monitoring service capable of covering the entire industry, something that simply wouldn't be feasible with an in-house team.

Robust Monitoring and AI, But Needs Better Data Analysis Tools

What do you like best about the product?
There are a lot of monitoring services now offered, and as an agency with many clients to monitor for, Meltwater offers the best balance of services and price. Their monitoring is great and media database is also very good. Sure, there are gaps, but keeping up with the quick pace of media turnover can be a challenge. In addition, their use of AI integration seems to be quick for the industry, and I appreciate that they're leaning into that section and look forward to further improvements and integrations as AI continues to progress.
What do you dislike about the product?
Beyond a bit of difficulty monitoring for TV and radio (trouble finding specific clips for TV and just overall difficulty of finding any radio), the service is great. The main thing that I would like to do with Meltwater that I can't seem to find a great solution for, at the moment, is a dashboard for clients/searches that I can share with my team. Yes, there's the analysis section, but that only serves me after a campaign has ended or is a snapshot (which I would have to pull every so often). There's so much data that comes from Meltwater but the hard part is analyzing that data into trends that really make an impact from a client perspective. That would be the next step for me and what's I'm missing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Media monitoring and serving as a journalist database. The function where I can search about who's writing about a certain topic has been very useful.

What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater is user-friendly and provides in-depth social listening data with minimal effort. The dashboards are sleek, intuitive, and easy to navigate, and our lab has consistently been able to pull actionable insights from the platform. With access to a wide range of sources, from social media to news outlets and blogs, Meltwater makes it easy to monitor and analyze media in real time.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Meltwater itself is a strong platform, it can be frustrating when Meta data is incomplete or inaccurate, limiting a full understanding of online conversations around certain topics. Additionally, some AI features, such as sentiment analysis, aren’t always fully reliable, so we caution students not to rely on them exclusively.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater helps us monitor online conversations in real time, which allows us to better understand audiences and provide recommendations to clients.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how it is an all in one platform. When vetting other competitors (Cision, etc.) Meltwater felt like a one stop shop for all things content, media and analytics.
What do you dislike about the product?
There have been a few glitches, including content not publishing when it is supposed to and inaccurate media numbers when compared to Cision.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows our department to use one platform for a variety of needs. Previously, I had subscriptions to three different platforms for social listening, social publishing and media monitoring. In Meltwater, it is all in one.

What do you like best about the product?
I use Meltwater for its robust media and social monitoring capabilities, which significantly assist in outreach efforts. The platform is incredibly useful in identifying channels and outlets that align with the content we are developing, allowing for targeted messaging across the numerous academic fields we cater to. I particularly appreciate the AI assistant, which aids in generating search queries and crafting effective communications for the media, providing invaluable support in a diverse academic environment. Meltwater allows me to shape a nationwide outreach pool, a feature I find highly beneficial. The ability to search media outlets based on location and topic is crucial for our faculty and staff, enabling them to contribute pieces to specific outlets and engage with relevant content creators effectively. I experienced a smooth transition when adopting Meltwater, thanks in part to the multiple experts from Meltwater who were readily available for consultations through Zoom calls and emails, as well as the comprehensive introductory materials that eased the setup process. Overall, these features collectively enhance the university’s communication strategies, making Meltwater a tool I trust and would likely recommend.
What do you dislike about the product?
I lack sufficient automation with Meltwater to support my work efficiently. Given that I don't have a full-time PR staff member, I need as much assistance as possible in generating, distributing, and tracking media pieces. An increase in automation, such as auto-filling certain execution parts for specific outreaches and identifying relevant outlets and writers, would be considerably helpful.

I use Meltwater to streamline media and social monitoring, targeting appropriate channels for our content, and easily tracking media mentions, which enhances our outreach efforts.
