Meltwater Review - Positive, Recommended
What do you like best about the product?
1) Dashboards quickly showing relevant news/updates. 2) Account/help folks are very helpful. 3) Journalist/source search.
What do you dislike about the product?
It sometimes does not collect data from high-profile sources. Some journalist contact information is out of date or general (but updates can be requested or added).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater makes it easier for me to review most or all of my media information in one place. The journalist search allows me to make sure I have the correct contact information for people that I may work with who have frequent changes in their roles.
Run, manage and report on client's social
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to schedule and track posts. It is super helpful when collecting metrics for end-of-campaign reporting. It is also easy to track hashtags and engage with users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Oftentimes, tagging doesn't work through the publish feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater makes tracking conversations across all social platforms extremely simple. We track over 20 hashtags and Meltwater pulls them all in so that we can report on social analytics at the end of the campaign. Since it pulls these conversations in, we are able to engage (like, comment, etc.) with user across several platforms and we don't have to login in to a bunch of other platforms.

Ongoing glitches, difficulty with IG Stories

Scheduling multiple posts across multiple clients, gathering metrics, comprehensive reporting, work flow, ease of approvals
Meltwater is a complete lifesaver
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite thing about Meltwater is its efficiency. You're able to search or complete lists in a timely manner, and time is money. Also, there's so much there in terms of details for a specific reporter. If you're not having success via email, you can call or try to connect via social media as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I am looking to make a massive list, and it can't handle 500 or more. There's ways around that, like tightening your search, but I wish it could handle more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater solves the problem of trying to reach intended targets. With this platform, you're able to search specific terms that help narrow down those reporters who you are specifically looking for.
Non-profit review, great experience
What do you like best about the product?
I primarily utilize and appreciate two Meltwater elements: searching news coverage of our organization and relevant news contacts.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some limits to the service regarding time constraints and metric gathering.

Collection of previous news coverage, media metrics used in public-facing reports/booklets, research of relevant news contacts.

What do you like best about the product?
The all-in-one layout of Meltwater is great! It's an easy way to see all of our data in one spot.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are sometimes glitches with the tool that make my analysis take a bit longer, like keywords not being hidden properly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater is compiling all of the data that we need in one spot, which is quite helpful in writing our daily social media monitoring reports.
Good Tools
What do you like best about the product?
A lot of different and complete tools. I really enjoyed the possibility of generating different relators.
What do you dislike about the product?
I found a bit confusing to check the searches I made.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Metwalter is solving our necessity to keep track of media mentions and it fits our needs (checking different media from different countries).
Solid platform and excellent customer service
What do you like best about the product?
Our team uses meltwater for traditional media monitoring and press releases as well as for social listening, content scheduling, and reporting. The addition of TikTok and Meltwaters continual updates to stay on top of the ever-changing social media landscape have helped our team stay on top of managing our content strategies across varying platforms. The vast customizable reporting options have made an impact in our teams ability to share our work and results with our senior leadership and board, as well as with our funders. Having scheduling, reporting, and listening in one platform makes this easier. We also have had great customer service from our rep, Katia. She is always willing to help us trouble shoot, set up a new search or report, and to pass our requests/suggestions along to their development team.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a non-profit Meltwater is a little on the pricier side, but Meltwater was willing to work with us and our budget to find a solution that worked for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having our social listening, reporting, and content scheduling in one place has really helped streamline our work. The addition of TikTok has been a big benefit as well.
Better than anything else I've seen
What do you like best about the product?
Setting a more accurate baseline reach and comparing data to past data and competitors' media coverage.
What do you dislike about the product?
I like the training videos and having a dedicated representative to show you how to set up dashboards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps to solve the reporting to clients that wish to see the reach of outreach activities.
Meltwater is a useful tool to monitor and track media coverage relevant to my client's interest.
What do you like best about the product?
I can keep all of my media searches in one centralized area. It's easy to use and helps me draft updates weekly.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't anything that I dislike about Meltwater.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When doing media monitoring, some of the articles I see come up on a google search aren't always in the search results for Meltwater Newsletters.
