Great product with lot of agility and cost efficiency
What do you like best about the product?
Very comprehensive identity management product with a lot of agility and flexibility. Being free and open source is great for small-scale companies and startups. We started our company back in 2014 and we were looking for identity management solutions. As a startup, we couldn't afford much on other enterprise-grade solutions and WSO2 products were the savior for us in the identity management domain.
We could set up the on-premise solution by referring to the documentation and we were running since then without any major issues.
It supports all most all the security standardization in modern days. We used SAML authentication with the LDAP user store. The inbuilt user claims and custom claims become handy when the application evolves and its comprehensive APIs support us in achieving all most all the requirements of our application.
Also, the product stability /scalability is at a satisfactory level. As we are delighted with IS features and cost efficiency, we are now moving to WSO2 Asgardeo which is a SaaS solution for IS.

What do you dislike about the product?
Product configuration can be challenging and complex due to various configuration options. It needs in-depth technical knowledge and considerable resources to manage the cluster which is not very desirable, particularly for small and medium-scale companies.
It lacks some support for UI configurations and updating via XML is bit of a headache for the technical teams. But its great to see WSO2 is now moving towards SaaS based CIAM solutions which is more or less a DIY package. I hope all these configuration challenges will be resolved with this new product.

Emojot is a multi-tenant SaaS application in the domain of customer centric digital transformation domain. We had a challenge in finding most secured, stable and scalable IS solutions while being cost efficient. WSO2 IS was intrumental in providing solutions for all these key challenges we were facing.
We mainly use IS for user authentication with SAML. user profiles are maintained with multiple inbuilt and custom claims. WSO2 IS and APIM worked well together in authentication and authorisation process with exposing secured APIs and claim management.

WSO2 IS is highly customizable and we have been able to manage and maintain the product using an in-house development team by only taking the WSO2 subscription support.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the feature of taking the 1st tenant as the super tenant. Because we had implemented the WSO2 IS for our online banking product, but now need to integrate it with API Manager. Since the super tenant of WSO2 IS automatically taken for the 1st tenant, now we cannot take the super tenant for API Manager implementation.
