Difficult first, but good ones it’s going

So many issues at the setup stage and quite clunky and not the cheapest.

My G's a reason I've got anything to say. He's got me through here. He's got me through there.

What do you like best about the product?
I use LucidLink for remote video editing and it helps me solve the issue of relinking media nightmares. I like the instant payback that it offers. The snapshots feature is also quite valuable because LucidLink takes background snapshots that don't take up extra space. The initial setup was quite easy.

Streamlined Remote Access with LucidLink
What do you like best about the product?
I like using LucidLink for its fast access remotely, which works as if I were in the office. It's convenient and secure, and I appreciate that it can be used on both Windows and Mac. The quick install of the agent and the fact that the file explorer is native to the OS makes it easy for applications to recognize it. I also find having a fixed drive letter helpful for writing scripts with absolute paths. Additionally, I can modify the cache size and use our own filespace in the cloud. The initial setup was easy, and I could push it via Intune or a Mac MDM product.
What do you dislike about the product?
On the new filespace, restricting sharing to external users is a security concern for our business. There are issues on Macs with searching the LucidLink mounted drive for files, and thumbnails don't appear.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We replaced Dropbox and OneDrive with LucidLink for fast remote access on Windows and Mac, secure and convenient access, and features like pinning files. It feels like working in the office.

It opens up looking like a native map folder, making it super intuitive for my team. Setting up new people is also very easy. It's seamless and there's no downtime, so I can upload large files like five gigs worth of images, and they'll be available for my designers almost immediately. We also work directly off it, which is amazing.

A promising remote edit foundation that requires some improvements for Avid
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the ease of startup with LucidLink, and how simple it is to communicate to a team of varying skillsets.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like needing to add on additional software (mimiq) to achieve cloud based editing through Avid. Also, due to how LucidLink works, we had large hangs when scrubbing through timelines of OP-Atom Avid media.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LucidLink is solving one primary pain point when it comes to taking in editors who are uncomfortable using our remote systems, and would rather use their own kit. We can't send them all of the media in a timely and secure way, and LucidLink makes this possible.
LucidLink has been a totally different way of working with files as a team
What do you like best about the product?
Implementing LucidLink really changed how we handle files as a team. I finally said goodbye to the usual mess of synced folders. Before, using different storage tools, there was always some file that didn’t update or someone working on an old version without realizing it. Now I work directly in the shared space and you can really feel the difference, especially when reviewing heavy files. I don’t have to wait for full downloads anymore just to check something quickly. The file opens almost instantly because it only loads what I actually need at that moment. It’s one of those subtle changes that you really appreciate once you deal with it every day.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wouldn’t say I’ve had any major issues, but there are definitely a few things that could be smoother. For example, the initial setup can get a bit technical if you’re not very experienced. It’s not exactly a plug-and-play thing for everyone.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest win for me was when we centralized resources from different departments. Before that, each area kept their own copies and everything was totally inconsistent. Once we created a shared space in LucidLink, it wasn’t just the tech that changed, the culture shifted too. People stopped duplicating files and started trusting working directly on the original. On a project with tons of simultaneous revisions, where we normally would’ve ended up with five different versions floating around, we actually kept everything centralized and under control.
Great for Remote Editing, But Struggles with Large Files
What do you like best about the product?
I really like LucidLink's ability to help work remotely on multiple projects, especially when you and your team are collaborating from different parts of the world. The feature that allows accessing a large amount of data directly on a disk without the need to download or copy projects is particularly valuable to me. The initial setup was very easy as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes when the files are large, LucidLink stops working properly. It hangs quite a bit when the video file is long, especially during multi-cam editing. The ability to handle heavier files needs improvement; it lags in syncing and playback. Also, copying heavier files shows errors sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LucidLink helps me work remotely on multiple projects with global team collaboration, allowing access to large data without downloading or copying.
Effortless Collaboration, Superior to Dropbox
What do you like best about the product?
I use LucidLink for storing data and other stuff like photos. It's easy to collaborate, and I can ask my collaborators or friends to also edit or put materials. I really like the ease of use. It's better than Dropbox as I don't suffer from version confusions. The initial setup was very easy with clear instructions.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think their cheapest tier or the second cheapest one has some limitations which makes things difficult. The price point could also be better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LucidLink makes it easy to collaborate and edit materials with friends, avoiding version confusions that I experienced with Dropbox.
