Google Drive's Bigger, Smarter & Sexier Sibling!

  • May 18, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The speed in which you can start working on shared files. Not having to have the whole file downloaded to start working on it is epic. It also helps my remote team in the philipines work with large multi gig files with no issues. Love this service.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only gripe is that you cannot access files on the fly online like you can with a google drive. With that said, the speed and easy still makes it way worth it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're using Lucid to share 4k raw video files with out remote editors in the philipines. Under normal circumstances, them just opening the file was a challenge. Now that's a thing of the past.

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to work collaboratively on a video project.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing! Honestly, it's a terrific product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're a small team and we're not always at the same location. As a team leader, this allows me to easily review video projects and make additions on the fly. Love it.

What do you like best about the product?
I liked the fluidity and the seamless integration lucidlink propvided for my project
What do you dislike about the product?
Lucidlink is only as fast as your internet connection. This joint seem to be an issue for me, but could potentially affect other users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucid link allows me to access footage from anywhere without the hassle of storing it on my system or connecting drives

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to edit from the cloud and collaborate remotely with other editors without having to download and reconnect media.
What do you dislike about the product?
Difficulty installing and/or onboarding editors due to the security settings that must be disabled on user computer or internet service provider.

Occasional disconnections due to internet stability.

Can sometimes be hard to tell if media has been fully uploaded/updated when I'm seeing the blue upload arrow.

cloud based remote workflow without needing hardware or high-level technical skills.

Lucid Link Great for Remote / Hybrid Work

  • May 18, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Lucid Link has been extremely helpful in our fully remote workflow and works nicely for our team members who are onsite in the office. We don't have to worry about setting up remote machines to access a physical server, it's super easy to mount onto your mac, and the handy toolbar status updates are useful as well to monitor storage used and connection efficiency.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think some people have mentioned that it's a slightly different experience on the windows side of things, but not exactly sure from my own end, I don't think it's anything of alarm.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving the problem of having a full remote server, which I'm so thankful to have now!

Great web-based file system

  • May 18, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I spent a long time searching for a web-based storage system, particularly for archive files, that would provide a File Explorer feel without being too expensive and while not dragging on system resources. LucidLink came in at a very cost effective rate for us, and their app creates a link directly in File Explorer, so our end users can feel like they're searching the old mapped drives. The security, snapshot backups, and ease of use make this highly desirable. I've recommended it to several friends who work for MSPs to add to their arsenal.
What do you dislike about the product?
My main pain point is with the installer. Because of how it integrates with File Explorer, during the install it has to restart the Windows Explorer process. When trying to script this install through an RMM, Windows Explorer would stop, but not restart automatically, so it took me several hours to get the script working just right to only affect users for about 15 seconds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a ton of archive data that the company doesn't want to delete, but I was looking for ways to get it off of on-prem storage since everyone is working remote 90% of the time. LucidLink provided me a cost effective way to provide that, their speeds are excellent, and users have no issues finding the files they're looking for since it has the same feel as old mapped drive

Completely changed my team's workflow

  • May 18, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Made running my team's hybrid onsite/remote workflow 10x easier
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like how backups eat my storage data. Would prefer a completely local backup option
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Needing to share files between multiple editors without duplication

Solid System

  • May 18, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It significantly reduces the amount of time taken with the unique upload/download structure.
What do you dislike about the product?
The amount of installation and account permissions management feels outdated and clunky (not UI friendly if not being taught how to use).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps a fully remote company work together faster and more efficiently.

Simple solution for a complex workflow

  • May 18, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
My favorite thing about LucidLink is that it one of those tools that just works. There's very little complexity to it. The system is easy to set up and configure and they have a pricing model that makes it very easy to anticipate costs. We've had very few technical issues with it and even when we have their tech support is very responsive and quick to resolve even minor issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not much to really dislike about the system. I wish there were "guest" or "read-only" account options offered at a lower price but hard to complain too much given the price point it's offered at.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our post-production team went fully remote after COVID and needed a solution to keep everyone working together. With LucidLink, we're able to have everyone working off a shared storage solution that doesn't require a complex server system and can work with the challenge of having everyone on different internet speeds and operating systems.

Very useful, but needs some improvements to be a truly seamless experience

  • May 18, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The file sharing feature is very useful for our team. We use it for video editing many ad creative files, so it's very good to share common raw footage or as redundancy if a team member becomes unavailable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Three things: 1. at times the speed is very slow, even to load up a folder, which is disruptive 2. there's unexpected downtime where it's unusable and we lose access to files, and 3. the program is resource intensive on my computer
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes collaboration and file sharing more seamless. Instead of having to pass files along and manually keep track of the latest files, there's one central location for acces.
