Real-Time Sync with Clunky Management
What do you like best about the product?
I like that LucidLink syncs well between people in real time, which is crucial when working with multiple editors. It's impressive that it can cache files for Adobe Premiere playback, making it better than using Dropbox for sharing project and media files over the internet. It keeps people in sync and the initial setup was easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their pricing structure is confusing, and when you max out on storage, they stop letting you use it without bothering to email you. I had 5 editors all go down at once with no warning or explanation from LucidLink. Adding people on is a confusing process, you first have to add a user and then in a separate part of the interface you share certain folders. It is confusing to figure out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use LucidLink for sharing project and media files efficiently over the internet, which works better than Dropbox. It syncs well in real time, keeping multiple editors in sync, and caches video for Adobe Premiere playback.
Unmatched NAS-Like Speed at a Competitive Price
What do you like best about the product?
LucidLink is one of my favorite platforms for what it does. What they offer feels unique, and it’s exactly what my business needed to support our workflow. It works very similarly to a NAS storage device, but the speed it provides is unmatched, which makes the overall experience a lot better for me. The $7/mo price for the lowest plan is very competitive and makes the service easy to justify.
What do you dislike about the product?
LucidLink works very well for my workflow, but unfortunately it does come with a few downsides. The initial setup is a bit difficult, and the website also feels clunky to use. It’s hard to do exactly what you want on the site, and canceling your plan is very unintuitive. You have to delete everything first and then “delete” the storage, without it ever clearly telling you that this button is what actually cancels the subscription.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LucidLink is helping my business work on large-scale files remotely with little to no lag. Previously, we used a self-managed NAS storage device. It did work, but it also made it difficult to track changes because it was so slow. And since it relied on our network, it was easy to lose access, which could temporarily shut down our business completely.
Convenient Anywhere Access with Stable, Fast Performance
What do you like best about the product?
It is extremely convenient to be able to access work files anywhere and anytime. It is also very stable and fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes LucidLink will disconnect on my laptop and I have to open the application to reconnect to the Filespace.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LucidLink has allowed us to cancel our remote desktop connection server which was painfully slow and had connection issues often. Being able to work on our machines anywhere as if we are in the office has been a game changer for our small business.
Streamlines Video Workflows Nationwide, but the UI Can Be Temperamental
What do you like best about the product?
Streamlining video workflows across the country
What do you dislike about the product?
Ui isn't the best & can be temperamental
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data manafement
Spacious Storage Solution with Connectivity Hiccups
What do you like best about the product?
I use LucidLink for creating projects, like adding a bunch of movies to make a movie server, and also to store my games. LucidLink solves the hassle of cluttering my C drive. What I like most about LucidLink is the fact that you can store as much data as you want per month. The ability to not run out of space is really helpful because I can cache some data whenever I want. The setup was easy to understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes LucidLink connections are not stable. The connection can drop to a higher latency level, from a 'great connection' to poor connection quality. Also, for someone who doesn’t understand what they're doing, it can be hard to understand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use LucidLink to store movies and games without cluttering my C drive. It allows unlimited data storage per month, helping me avoid running out of space and caching data easily.
User-Friendly Dashboard, But Pricing Concerns
What do you like best about the product?
I think the dashboard of LucidLink is very user-friendly. An easier way to navigate through software is much better as it avoids hindering progress. I also found the initial setup to be simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use LucidLink for organization, making sure things are handled efficiently. The user-friendly dashboard simplifies navigation, enhancing my progress.
Efficient Cloud Collaboration for Distributed Teams
What do you like best about the product?
LucidLink makes it easy to work with large files directly from the cloud as if they were stored locally. Being able to stream only the data you need saves time, avoids constant downloads, and helps distributed teams collaborate more smoothly. Overall performance is very good, and the product simplifies workflows that would otherwise require more complex sync setups or VPN-based solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial setup and configuration can be confusing, especially for non-technical users, and troubleshooting performance issues isn’t always straightforward. Costs can also rise quickly as teams grow or storage needs increase, and overall performance may depend heavily on network quality. In addition, some advanced features and controls could be more transparent and better documented to make them easier to understand and use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LucidLink addresses the challenge of accessing and collaborating on large files across distributed teams without requiring full downloads, local duplication, or complex infrastructure. It lets our team work more efficiently with shared, cloud-based data by reducing storage overhead, minimizing versioning issues, and speeding up collaboration—especially when we’re working remotely or spread across multiple locations.
Speed to upload and edit files online
What do you like best about the product?
The speed to upload and download files and be able to use it directly for online editing
What do you dislike about the product?
That it doesn't have a plugin in Davinci Resolve like in Premiere
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The transfer of large files helps with the speed of workflows and delivery times.
Streamlined Our Post Production with LucidLink
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the project file sharing experience with LucidLink. Everything being automatically linked makes it so much faster and easier to share project files. I appreciate not having to relink anything, which is a big time saver. It also simplifies the process of sharing assets and project files, especially when I'm too busy. Setting up with the new LucidLink has been much easier and faster compared to LucidLink Classic.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish we could do external linking to people outside of LucidLink to just be able to view videos simply and quickly. And I wish that we could see who changed a file or deleted something, like in the history or snapshots, just to be able to detect who was the root cause of an issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use LucidLink to connect our remote editing and internal marketing teams, which streamlines our post-production workflows by 75%. It makes project files easily shareable without needing to download every file. Everything is automatically linked, speeding up collaborative editing.
Great product, needs easier implementation procedures
What do you like best about the product?
The Desktop drag and drop is very nicely thought out. The UI is functional and doesn't require a ton of effort to understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Workflow is very confusing. The requirement to create a Workspace for simple data transfer, and that billing is tied to workspace creation, is not easy to grasp at the beginning. IT quickly went from a simple tool to one that requires a specialist to set up, even in a small company.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The transfer of larger media files is becoming the norm, and LucidLink provides a solution for smaller boutiques like ours.
