Highly Customizable, Intuitive, Yet Needs Better Data Management

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate Mixpanel's user-friendly interface, which is far more intuitive compared to our previous tool, Google Analytics. Its setup process was smooth, and the tool's highly customizable nature allows us to create many types of events and dashboards effortlessly. The feature to set alerts, particularly for error notifications that directly integrate with Slack, greatly enhances our proactive approach to addressing issues, ensuring we can respond promptly. I also value the ability to track users' full journey, from onboarding to the usage of app features, providing clear insights that help optimize our product experience. Additionally, the reasonable pricing makes Mixpanel an attractive option for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it cumbersome to exclude test users from reports as they often get mixed with real users, and the process requires manually checking them off. This becomes tedious, especially when creating reports. Furthermore, the dashboard resets panel checkboxes when changing variables, causing the need to reselect options, which can lead to reporting mistakes if overlooked. The inability to easily delete unnecessary or old data, including test data, complicates data management. There is also an issue with correlating logged events with session replays to clearly observe user experiences during errors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mixpanel provides insights into user behavior, allowing us to track and optimize app usage from onboarding to feature interaction. It supports event customization and enables proactive user engagement by alerting us of errors for prompt responses.

What do you like best about the product?

Can become even more easy to use by decluttering the home screen, and using industry standard terminologies for features.

Complicated cohort analytics, ad-hoc requirements for strategic business decisions and live sports analysis.

What do you like best about the product?
Mixpanel makes it incredibly easy to dive deep into user behavior without needing a data science degree. The event-based tracking is powerful yet intuitive, and the way you can slice data into cohorts, funnels, and retention curves is unmatched. I especially love how quickly I can answer product questions like “Where are users dropping off in onboarding?” or “Which features keep people coming back?” without waiting on engineering. The dashboards are interactive and beautiful, making it simple to share insights with stakeholders and align teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve can be a bit steep for first-time users—especially setting up clean event tracking. You need to invest in a solid taxonomy upfront; otherwise, reports can get messy. The pricing also scales up quickly as your data grows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Mixpanel to understand user journeys, measure retention, and optimize product flows. It’s helped us reduce churn, improve activation rates, and align product + growth teams around real user data instead of assumptions.

Results:
Since adopting Mixpanel, our time-to-insight has dropped dramatically—we can test hypotheses and see results in hours, not weeks. It’s become our single source of truth for product decisions.

What do you like best about the product?
We appreciate Mixpanel's intuitive UI. Because of it we're able to easily build relevant dashboards regarding our experiements and projects. It's become the goto tool for analysis and monitoring over things like grafana where we write queries.
What do you dislike about the product?
At Uber, we have to add mapping so our native events are ingested correctly into Mixpanel. This adds an additional step in our pipeline that we have to teach every new engineer. If mixpanel more integrated more "natively" into our stack or if we were able to abstract this layer I think folks on different teams would be much open to using it for their projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mixpanel’s been super helpful for understanding how people actually use our product. I like that it tracks events instead of just page views, so we can see things like feature adoption and where users drop off in a funnel. The dashboards are clean, and once you get the hang of it, slicing data into cohorts is really handy.

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Mixpanel as it has been an invaluable tool for generating product insights and observing user interactions. Its ease of use and flexibility, especially in enriching event data with custom properties, allows us to perform extensive analytics and set success metrics efficiently. I don't have any problems with Mixpanel. The last UI change made it a bit trickier to adopt.

What do you like best about the product?
We have been using Mixpanel for a couple of years. I like the simplicity and the ease of understanding the data, creating different kinds of dashboards, and all.
What do you dislike about the product?
With recent changes in the pricing which makes it event-based, it created an issue like it forces us to think which event to fire always. Our development cycle is involved, so we moved to Amplitude which is based on user-based pricing. Though Amplitude's UI/UX isn't that great as Mixpanel, but we don't have any choices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To us, like we used to use it for analytics - we used to use it for figuring out what our users are doing, understanding each touchpoints, creating internal dashboards, and all which we don't want to create via our own database. Those kinds of things were useful.
