Feedback for Mixpanel as a Software developer at a Unicorn
What do you like best about the product?
The ease with which you can create funnels to track business success metrics makes it easier for you to monitor the KPIs in great detail, consequently making it easier for you to take calls on improvements in your product/ feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much to dislike about Mixpanel. It's an excellent tool for your business. However, one thing I would like the Mixpanel team to work on is the suggestions they provide while creating funnels
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Mixpanel as a software developer in a product based Unicorn in India, and it has helped me a great deal in analysing the impact of my work upon the users of our product. It hence has helped me in understanding the consumer requirements, which is of utmost importance for any business.

Upsides of using mixpanel are -
Scalability - You can easily scale
Affordable Plans - Best thing is that it is free and has numerous plans you could choose from as per your business needs
Easy Integration - SDK of mixpanel is quite easy to integrate
Third party integration - Easily integrates with third party tools like appsflyer etc for finding out like count etc.

What do you dislike about the product?
Downsides of using mixpanel are -
Not a lot of Key performance Indicators (KPIs) are available
Advance features given are not particularly useful, generally speaking
Sometimes the data that flows inside mixpanel is ambiguous and confusing

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mixpanel is helping us to find out the users who are actively using our apps, we can identify the user journey through our app and find out the clicks and events that he performs over the app.
With the help of A/B testing, we can get more users to come back to our app and thus increasing Retention.

One of the notable strengths of Mixpanel lies in its exceptional support team, possessing a profound depth of technical expertise and a solid commitment to assisting customers.

I believe there are areas for improvement in the platform's capabilities, particularly in enabling seamless integration with external data sources to enhance the depth of product understanding. For instance, the existing Salesforce integrations primarily cater to product marketing instead of emphasizing product analytics.

As a Product Analyst utilizing Mixpanel for comprehensive product analytics, I have observed significant advantages for our company in terms of gaining a profound understanding of our customer base. By effectively segmenting them into three distinct groups—customers, accounts, and partners—we have discerned unique behavioral patterns within each category. This invaluable insight has enabled us to optimize engagement strategies and proactively mitigate churn, leading to enhanced business outcomes.
Phenomenal UX, Even Better Customer Service
What do you like best about the product?
It has to be the amazing customer service. I've never had a question that went unanswered for a long time. I work with over a dozen vendors like MixPanel on a regular basis and none of them compare.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really. I do have a suggestion though - I'd love it if we could leverage AI to identify and duplicate (or similar) events/properties, in order to avoid redundancies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MixPanel allows me to keep track of dozens of features/products, always ensuring optimal UX, and preventing any unwanted anomalies. Without MixPanel I would be lost.

all info in one place - i can customize stuff and get a more holistic view of everything

a bit complicated to set up custom events, developers had to do it

What do you like best about the product?
It has given me every insight I want on my users, and so far, I've only used the free tier features. It's a rare product I'd be happy to pay for, and it's been free so far.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it were easier to track an individual user's session and only see the values you want when viewing a user's activity. It'd also be nice if the documentation were a little more specific on how to add custom attributes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I wasn't sure how users were using my product, and now I'm not flying blind when figuring out what features to add and where people are getting hung up when using the product.

What do you like best about the product?
I like using Mixpanel to make decisions and really understand where we have successful conversion across different sets of users and the path they take. I've used Amplitude before and would say they're comparable. I do love the "Compare with previous week" and easy duplication functionality.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I can't dig in as much as I'd like to a group of users and follow paths across new paths - so if a user came to us via one UTM campaign, wanting to see the rest of their journey when they return on a new campaign or come back organically.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Discovering user paths on our application so we can focus on improving areas there is drop-off and which UTM campaigns work best.

What do you like best about the product?
Makes it very easy and simple to gain an understanding of your KPIs and see how users are using your application.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only criticism I have is that it does not appear to work with wordpress easily.

User experience is confusing for new users. No option to generate PDF from a dashboard
