The best tool to measure product metrics - simple and powerful
What do you like best about the product?
The technical setup is well documented and easy to understand - I've done this on several products, web and native applications - as well as via Segment and found it to 'just work'.
I like the simplicity of identify + events + parameters leading to all of the different ways to slice the data - and features like 'Groups', 'Lookup tables' and calculated properties are brilliant - just when you think - "I wish I'd tracked property X but forgot" - Mixpanel gives you several ways to layer that information back in.
Surfacing the time between events - I'm thinking of funnels in particular - is super. We spend a lot of time optimising time spent performing tasks in our applications - and this makes it very clear where time is being spent.
Also a fan of the ability to set up complex dashboards - and then use cohorts or other properties to filter - it's an absolute time-saver.
The Lexicon is great - I'm a stickler for well-named events and properties - and inevitably you get back from holiday and find somebody has added a camel_cased and misspelt event name and to be able to change this and annotate with a description also is very useful.
Honestly - every startup I've worked at or consulted with who asks about tracking - I recommend Mixpanel as the startup plan is generous, and they are always delighted by the product.

What do you dislike about the product?
I find the Flows report quite hard to use at times and not well suited for the dashboard - in particular, I often use the 'expand by property' as I have several 'Loaded a screen' events - and I want to show the screen 'Name' - and this is very small on flows, and doesn't display at all on Top Paths (unless you hover)
I'd like the dashboard building to be better - I find the '+/-' controls a bit basic. It might be nice to have a little more control over the charts/data visualization - particularly if you want to make a public board for perhaps an office TV or similar. Colour selection? Might also be good if you could set KPI's or Targets on some of the reports - and show this within the chart. I'd also like to be able to annotate - for example when a new feature or version is released - and again, see it on the time based charts.
On occasion - it can be slow to load up data - not a huge problem but experienced it enough for it to be frustrating.
I think Group IDs are brilliant - but 40% of the price of the plan - I think that's a bit too expensive.

As we work in Health Tech - accessibility is a big thing for us, we are tracking a number of on-device accessibility settings via Mixpanel which will let us prioritise what adaptations we need to make to our application.
We also have a system to create patient health plans - by a busy clinician, in a limited appointment time - so optimising the speed of that creation process is key for us - Mixpanel lets us break all the steps down and optimise this.

Mixpanel - a world of amazing possibilities (but a new language to learn!)
What do you like best about the product?
The extremely detailed nature of data analysis you can do.
There is such depth to the insights, comparisons and predictions you can find within the app.
The user interface is very clear, very fun and easy on the eyes! So it's a pleasure to use.
Plus sharing with your teammates is quick, clear and easy.

What do you dislike about the product?
I'm afraid you really have to learn all the elements, to be able to use Mixpanel to it's full capacity! I'm still learning...
But playing around inside the app is a good way to learn. Pus the support seems great!

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am finding all sort of data which is informing my role. For example:
- How to expand our business in new markets, using predictions from existing ones.
- How to run events for engaged users, using insights in our users' behaviour.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Practice, practice, practice. It will take time to understand (if you're a layman like me), but it shows incredible depth and insights. 🎉🥳🎈
Very Easy to see and find the things that you are looking for - easy to see how my app is preforming
What do you like best about the product?
The insights on users that are given - what they have done on the app (completed lesson), or their email address to then reach out to them for feedback - it needs to be easier to navigate and learn all features - I am sure there are a lot of useful features
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't know if this feature exists, but maybe there could be a feature to view stats over time (number of users - active users) - it is a bit hard to learn all features!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Mixpanel, I am able to see the number of users that use my app, and how many of them go on daily... But especially I can see where users leave the app - during what lessons they lose engagement and so on!
Good and Smooth wokrking
What do you like best about the product?
Have used mixpanel to track user experience in two different organizations, and had no problem with anything, the docs and functionality are so clear and smooth.
What do you dislike about the product?
Need a way to display objects in mixpanel table and stats in reports.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
using mixpanel to enhance user experience and the up-gradation of functionality that are mostly used.
If you're starting a project - use Mixpanel from day 1
What do you like best about the product?
Having full control over what's going on with our product. If you set up Mixpanel early and properly - you won't regret it, that's for sure.
What do you dislike about the product?
I regret not setting it up properly from the day one. We missed some crucial information in the early days, doing a lot of guesswork instead of actually knowing what was going on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Analyzing our product's two main parts: end-user applications and vendors' admin dashboard. We even use Mixapenel "Users" section as a basic CRM.
Absolutely useful tool for finding some user's troubles
What do you like best about the product?
I like Mixpanel's user interface, which helps to find any cases quickly. I really appreciate the search filters that help to build difficult and complex searching requests.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't believe that Mixpanel has some features that I really dislike. Sometimes I'm confused by search results but I'm sure it's incorrect setting up of events and properties on our side.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mixpanel helps me to understand what exactly the user did before the issue appearing and it helps to reproduce this issue and solve the problem. It helps to sort all accounts and find suitable users quickly
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a great tool for getting the accuracy analytic of your product!
We get everything we wanted , the UX is super easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
It's way to create reports or dashboards. It's super ORGANISED to understand how everything.
The hierarchy is unbeliable
- Dashboards
- - Reports (Multiple Types)
- - Breakdowns to further dive
- - Filters for ocassional use
And then select how you want the metric to be shown. not just counts and distinct counts, but aggregate properties with percentile% and others. Percentile is something which was done properly by RJMetrics before few years back. Nobody else has done that. Now good to see that is available in Mixpanel.

What do you dislike about the product?
I think in terms of implementation, it was not easy go for everybody. Or neither we didn't had a chance to learn the implementation properly. May be it cannot be easily implemented in GA but i missed this part to be honest.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
User journey and event trends. That's the first thing I want to see when i open the laptop everyday.
3 Things I check every morning
1. The simple one of Registration and Activated Users trend
2. The cohort movement from registration to ACtivated
3. The deep funnel which has 11 steps. I compare this by 3-7days rolling period. By this, I see if there is something wrong in user journey(drop off). This has helped us once to identify an issue with Registration stage.
All this things by country. That's my dashboard

Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think just implement mixpanel as an MVP, (not full implementation). And allow your small team to use it for few days. If it was easy for them to use, then you suggest implement.
It's not features or implementation or anything that is important for company growth. It's whether the end-users can use the tool properly or is it going to be a steep learning curve?

Modular and simply customisable - The perfect board for a data-driven product team!
What do you like best about the product?
The modularity of data visualisation is pretty exceptional. It is easy to work with our technical team, and then even easier to pull the right metrics for our products if you aren't familar with SQL.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I actively dislike about Mixpanel, it is a pretty solid experience and everything worked as it should. I think generating filter sets could be an area of the UX to improve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visualising of Product metrics across multiple product teams without SQL or Techincal dependency. Helping us keep up as we grow into being a data-driven product culture.
