Powerful tool with a steep learning curve
What do you like best about the product?
Good selection of diverse reports to analyze data from different angles. Instructions embedded inside the product to understand easily how to uses each report. Strong community where most of the questions are answered by the Mixpanel team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Technical setup was more difficult than we were expecting (Segment API). We are unable to make the Mixpanel Slack Zapier integration work (may be Zapier's fault, not sure).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a pre-PMF company so our main focus areas are: onboarding process performance and pain points, retention numbers, drop-off rates at different stages of using the product, order of actions users perform, breakdown of use profiles, retention numbers.
Good experience using Mixpanel

What do you dislike about the product?
I didn't come across any specific aspect that can be pointed out as a feature that I dislike
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When we release a particular feature to a specific cohort, the first week after the launch mainly focuses on the user behavior and adaptability to the new feature. With the help of Mixpanel, it becomes easy to understand what touchpoints are working out and what is not. This gives us an idea on how we could improve the product when it's due to a complete rollout.

One can definitely use this tool without any doubts; it's an extremely useful analytical tool.

What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing special, didn't get the first invitation to sign up but it seems to me like a false alarm of Proofpoint's email Protection

Analyzing tons of data to optimize the UX , it's much better than the alternatives
Love it!
What do you like best about the product?
I love the easy and clean interface, how everything looks instantly nice.
What do you dislike about the product?
How hard it is to know what each event or propriety means.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Conversion analysis, acquisition analysis and a number of dashboard to keep an eye on the main KPIs for the website.

One Stop Shop for Product Managers
What do you like best about the product?
Highly flexible. Mixpanel has a separate module for each aspect PMs try to discover about the product analytics. Separate modules, filters, wonderful UI, funnels, multiple view modes mean that PMs can spend more time analyzing the data rather than figuring out how to get the data in the first place.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's going to be a bit time taking to structure your thoughts and build the entire map of events and properties you would like to take care of. You will have to take a separate A/B testing tool subscription for insights.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been trying to understand the user behavior on our eCommerce website so that we can figure out the right problem. This will enable us to come up with the right set of experiments to impact conversion rates.
Great overall, improvements over time have helped make switching easier
What do you like best about the product?
Easy visualization of data and ability to share reports. There's a lot of power in all the reports, but I tend to mostly just build out my own insight report. It's all pretty easy to do.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes things go haywire and it's hard to troubleshoot
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Democratization of data is awesome. Everyone has access. We have found and identified fixes to issues with certain KPI reports.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Like any analytics package, it is what you put into it. You have to set up your data flow correctly and maintain it over time or else it becomes useless.
Great tool to see the big picture of your application
What do you like best about the product?
Mixpanel makes it easy to see trends, break down events and data by various segments/properties, which makes it easy to (for example) demonstrate the adoption rate of a new version or view what countries use which devices/browsers. The charts and dashboards look good, more than good enough to demonstrate data highlights to product personnel.
What do you dislike about the product?
The hardest thing can be finding an individual event. Not that it's challenging to set up a quick insight report where you figure out which event you're looking for then filter it by value, but the fine detail can be more difficult to figure out than feels necessary.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We get performance metrics, device and browser share information, exception logging, and user interaction flows through Mixpanel. This allows us to determine what issues users experience even if they don't report it, and provides crucial context when they do report an error. The benefits have been manifold, both in being able to make informed decisions about what we do/do not need to support, as well as prioritizing defects as we can see the actual error rates.
