A must for building products
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to get deep insights, funnels, retention, alerts.
What do you dislike about the product?
little inflexibility in creating cohorts, breakdown of funnels with filters. Reliability and relevance of alerts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
User activation, growth. Having alerts on activation dips helps a lot to identify bugs, major drop offs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Best tool out there. A must while building products. Alerts and funnels are very useful.
Mixpanel turns my Segment data into something useful
What do you like best about the product?
I love being able to easily import all of my Segment data and then visualize it in Mixpanel. Setting up with Mixpanel took less than five minutes and I could immediately see the value I would get out of your product's visualizations of my existing data.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the time it takes to configure each dashboard; I wanted to configure multiple of the same dashboards for different projects... one project for development data to try things out and one project for production data. It'd be nice if you could copy dashboard layouts and reports between projects (because all my event names are the same... one just uses production data from Segment and the other uses development data).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been tracking user signups mostly and the affect of various email campaigns. Mixpanel is quite nice for those email campaigns as it's easy to visualize the drop-off (e.g. 100 users received the email, 50 opened it, 20 clicked the link, and 10 actually did the thing we wanted them to do).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You should make sure to use a customer data platform like Segment so that you don't have to change all of your tracking code every time you want to use a new tool or switch between analytics tools. Other than that, the visualizations and actionable insights that Mixpanel provides are stellar!
Mixpanel is a powerful tool
What do you like best about the product?
I love how Mixpanel allows me to visualize data and investigate user behavior. I have used Mixpanel with two different organizations with unique needs and the platform was super flexible. I also did not have data management experience before I started using Mixpanel, but I was able to learn the platform quickly since it is so user-friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
The one thing I would change about Mixpanel is adding a feature for me to bulk upload cohorts or filters. When I am trying to filter by a certain group of users, I have to look up each individual ID and check a box. It is a very manual process.
Another thing I don't like is that sometimes it is difficult to find old reports. Occasionally, I will just recreate a report since I can't find it in saved reports. This could very easily be a "me-problem" but I have found it difficult to navigate saved reports at times.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mixpanel helps my team understand how our marketing efforts translate to usage. Moreover, it allows us to understand which features of our app are most valuable to users. When we launched our new product tour in September and monitored results the following month, Mixpanel helped us understand that users were not completing the tour. This actually helped us identify that there was something broken in the flow. Since changing the user tour, we have seen a positive uptick!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take time to experiment on the platform. The easiest way to learn is by doing.
Great tools for identifying high value cohorts
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite feature is the ability to segment users who converted through your funnel. Mixpanel uses statistical analysis to identity segments within your funnel that convert statistically higher than the average. This allows you to filer out the noise and identify high value cohorts that might have been have gone unnoticed if we were to only look at all users that converted.
What do you dislike about the product?
Exporting users to Facebook Pixel requires that users have a valid email. This makes it difficult to track and retarget to anonymous users who have not registered our provided an email. If there is a way use device ID data to import to Facebook Pixel as opposed relying on email, it would allow us to target Facebook ads to users based on there behavior but who have not yet provided us their email.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are leveraging it to identify where drop-offs are occurring in our funnel and to identify high converting segments. We are also leveraging the custom event parameters that we send to the platform to understand on a very granular level what links our users are clicking on, what are they filtering by, what type of content they are favoriting, etc.
Insightful & Flexible
What do you like best about the product?
I like the UI of the dashboards and the ease of use in general.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can't remove certain filters on dashboard. I would like to remove the filters from dashboard views instead of showing just gray areas.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using data to drive certain product design decisions and I am also using data to help certain customers work through issues they run into.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend learning your teams naming convention and using other members' dashboards to build off of when you first start.
A very strong self-service product analytics tool for our SaaS business
What do you like best about the product?
Mixpanel is user-friendly and fast. Although it's used mostly by our Product Managers, we have also trained our customer success team to use it.
I like the customization features such as the ability to create custom properties, merge multiple events together with advanced rules or manage the Lexicon to hide events that are unnecessary.
I have also taken advantage of the ability to enrich Mixpanel's profiles by importing additional data manually, which has been very convenient on many occasions to run a new analysis.
Finally, on the rare occasions where I have a question, the support team has always been very reactive and even went above and beyond when I needed help to write a custom JQL query (their internal query language).

What do you dislike about the product?
Custom dashboards are very helpful but in some cases, they could use some fine-tuning in order to display the correct information. For example when I breakdown all my users into a few buckets, I expect the % of each bucket to be based on the total of users. Currently, the calculation isn't clever and just takes any data in the chart (including the "All Users") and looks at its share against this inflated total.
The API documentation depth hasn't been enough for me: I have been unable yet to properly use it for such simple things as exporting data from an API call.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool provides self-service product analytics intelligence to the company. We don't need a dedicated team of analysts to get started and pull useful data.
Mixpanel + Sales Acceleration !!!
What do you like best about the product?
I love that Mixpanel allows me to see in real-time what my customers are doing. I can tell who is really adopting our platform without having to sit at their desk watching them. It is critical when we have a launch of our platfor within a custom organization to see usage in real-time, right from the minute we walk out of the training room.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that the UI changes so often. I learn how to do something and then often need to relearn. The renaming of features has been problematic in the past too.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I will use Mixpanel to see at a high level what users are adopting. Then, I can double click into the features that they are using or more importantly NOT using, so I know where to focus my teams efforts.
I have found it to be incredibly useful for remote troubleshooting as well, since I can see the click path that the user took to get to a troublesome point.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
I don't have any reasons to tell you not to use Mixpanel. It is the only software of the type that I am familiar with however.
Definitely would recommend, surpassed all my expectations!
What do you like best about the product?
Great UI, very easy to navigate and easier with time.
Can get important information very quickly.
Helps democratise data amongst the whole company.

What do you dislike about the product?
Have to get our engineers to track things sometimes, but it's becoming easier to avoid that through LookUp Table and things like that.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding our users, knowing how our tools are performing, and seeing what issues we need to focus on.
Seeing insights specific to different clients, different users, and different timelines.
Being able to breakdown by as many different factors as we'd like in order to get more of an in-depth picture.
Ability to create company-wide dashboards with dynamic filters such that different members of the company can make use of them depending on their needs and curiosities.
Building funnels to see the user's journey, and flows to learn more about where they drop off
Ability to get an idea of which major demographics are participating in different parts of our products - helping us relay this to customers to further benefit them in their every day duties
Using Mixpanel instead of spreadsheets when running meetings, be it company wide ones or just team ones where we look at the performance of recent features and product releases
Changing the user roles depending on how the employee will want to use it.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Perhaps a way to easier manage the data points across the system - sometimes it needs a lot of admin work to explain what events we use and what properties are important, to new employees
Incredible way to measure your product
What do you like best about the product?
I love being able to create fast dashboard and visualise them on my mobile app or on their website. I am able to see how our sales are going by analysing funnels and also track the performance of new features being released.I am able to filter in terms of location which has been particularly important since we are expanding internationally. We are also able to filter by device which is very useful because we want to design based on how our users use our product. I also enjoy the capabilities to create dashboards and share them with my team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the fact that you can only have a quick look at the reports from the mobile apps and are not able to create new dashboards or reports over there. More functionalities in the mobile app will be very useful. Also, it took some time to get everything running smoothly and learn all of the potential it had. I would have appreciated having an onboarding session like other software companies do in order of be able to get the most value since the beginning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to visualise how new features are working and how our conversions are working (where do users fall off the funnel and what are the places of greater impact. Prior to mixpannel I had to use Google Analytics and it was a very poor solution since it was very focused on traffic and not on what my users were doing on the platofrm.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Learn about the product and its functionalities before starting to use it because learning at the beginning will be very useful. I think that if you do not learn how everything works and you set up events properly then you will lose a lot of time.
We cannot live without Mixpanel
What do you like best about the product?
The easiness of using such a complex tool
What do you dislike about the product?
Mixpanel should have codeless tracking for Web applications too
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mixpanel is helping us in solving product-related issues. The product team analyzes how users are interacting with the product and based on the data we are to focus on the features that we need to release instead of the guesswork.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are a SaaS company you must use Mixpanel instead of any other free Analytics Tools Available in the market
