Easy & powerful tool for product analytics

  • January 17, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Getting meaningful insights in Mixpanel is really easy. We have events streaming to multiple analytics tools but Mixpanel arranges those in views that are really easy to create and understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like to be able to get a more detailed view of how reports are generated - for example break down a funnel to individual users and which steps they did.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trying to understand the main friction points in our product.
The main benefits are -
1. We understand where our big drop-off steps are and where we should improve.
2. As we release features - we can get an objective measure of if/how they helped to increase usage.

What do you like best about the product?
Mixpanel is great for product analytics in our SaaS
What do you dislike about the product?
Mixpanel recently announced that they are sunsetting their Messages feature, which allows you to send an email to users when they take specific actions.

We used this feature a lot, and are very disappointed that it is being removed.

Product analytics and Messaging

Enables Rapid Prototyping of Ideas

  • January 15, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
In the past even the simplest queries might take a day to hear back from a busy data scientist. Now I can arrive to Mixpanel with a hypothesis and have a rough idea of whether I'm right within minutes. Once you learn the paradigm you can use it for almost any kind of analysis you need.
What do you dislike about the product?
The price is high enough that I spend a lot of time convincing my managers to continue paying for it. At the end of the day though it is definitely worth it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Measuring the efficacy of our learning tools, monitoring software for UX bugs, segmenting customers

At times, it becomes really difficult to find data if the nomenclature is not known,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Consumer insughts and impact of actions in funnel optimization

Mixpanel is almost perfect!

  • January 14, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
The UI based analysis saves a lot of time. Most of what can be achieved using JQL can be done using the UI itself. The ability to make dashboards is very useful to track performance of newly released features.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. The flows functionality is great. But the data is not in a downloadable format. In funnels, there isn't an option for studying users who flowed from Step A to Step B without any intermediate steps. This is very important to understand friction points of pages and features.

2. The User history is not in a downloadable for to perform useful analysis. I'm having to use workarounds using JQL or insights (by breaking down by processed time). But these methods are not ideal as the properties of interest are different for different events. The basic requirement is a matrix of all event properties X Time Processed should be downloadable for a user (with masked contact information).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reducing the friction for the user in our website and app with the least amount of tech investment
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't be shy of using Excel on Mixpanel data. Though Mixpanel tries it's best to reduce dependance on excel, such analysis will only increase the scope of insights you will find. Excel is an ally to Mixpanel data

Can't live without Mixpanel

What do you like best about the product?
Mixpanel allows instrumentation of product to track usage patterns and identify areas of concerns. It helps visualize key funnels and flows, and find actionable insights. What I like best is the ability to create a dashboard that can be used to monitor the metrics and those can be delivered to me via email. I am yet to explore more capabilities such as correlations, but I love Mixpanel.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing in particular which I dislike about Mixpanel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I track the usage of my product areas using Mixpanel.

A mix of theory and hand-on - a complete package for Learning and Development

  • January 11, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I liked that apart from the assessments after every module, we got to play around with the dummy music finder data and build an interesting dashboard. This helped you understand how can you leverage your data and get insights in a very hands-on way.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can't think of anything. The courses and assessments were on point and neither too lengthy to lose interest nor too short to miss out on important details.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was aware of Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics and I know how some companies are looking for a more behaviourally triggered data model or have a self-service analytical platform that is easier to use. I would like to help such companies transitioning to Mixpanel
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get a better understanding of your users by using Mixpanel. It's not just simple to use but also provides a holistic user understanding. No one else helps you understand your users better.
