It's and entry level CAD design software. Bad in comparación with other CAD softwares
What do you like best about the product?
For new user on CAD design, is ok. But more than that I can't say it good.
What do you dislike about the product?
Interface, working with it, mouse clicks movements... awfull
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Start in CAD Design bussines.When you have knowledge about the other software the market offer, you see that this software it's bad.

Solid Edge offers a highly intuitive interface, making it effortless to grasp. Its array of advanced 3D modeling tools facilitates the creation of precise product designs with ease. Notably, the software boasts sophisticated simulation and analysis capabilities that enable accurate load testing and analysis. Additionally, Solid Edge presents a rich set of tools dedicated to sheet metal design, offering unique features to tackle intricate sheet metal projects effortlessly. Furthermore, it excels in providing efficient assembly tools for parts mechanisms, streamlining the process while ensuring collision detection and interference checks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Solid Edge may require a robust graphics card and ample RAM to ensure smooth operation, as certain tasks may otherwise experience sluggishness and occasional hanging issues. However, the rendering options in Solid Edge may not meet expectations in terms of quality. Additionally, users may encounter challenges when attempting to create holes and patterns on cylindrical surfaces. It is worth noting that Solid Edge tends to be relatively expensive compared to alternative modeling software options found in the market.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My role involves designing a wide range of mechanical components such as gears, shafts, bearings, frames, and cams using Solid Edge. Leveraging its simulation and analysis tools, we conduct thorough load tests to ensure the optimal functioning of all the mechanisms within the machinery. The precise analytical results obtained assist us in creating robust load-handling parts that are free from potential failures. Solid Edge's advanced modeling tools enable me to accurately design cams and springs for our projects and facilitate collision detection tests and interference checks to ensure seamless integration.
Excellent Software for Machinery Design
What do you like best about the product?
The features which build up the blueprint for the machinery parts are really appreciated.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is easy to use and very user-friendly, yet I didn't find anything to dislike here.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We basically use it to design our machinery parts. Using it, I can easily create the blueprint of my machine parts with 360-degree visibility.

Using this to add third party applications it has links to many other product library.

I need fbx file but solid edge not given that file it's given assembly file or cad file.

Currently not creating fbx.

It is an excellent software for 2D and 3D designing and modeling. Excellent user interface and easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
* Expensive.
* It Needs high configuration in your system, else it doesn't work properly.
* Some patterns are difficult to draft.

I make handmade and personalized items for gifting. The software helps me in drafting different cardboard designs and thus helps me a lot in my business.

What do you like best about the product?
Solid Edge is one of the top rated tool for 3D simulation. I like it's capabilities to create simulation model for various plants which includes machinery plant as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
This tool is mainly designed for manufacturing plat simulation, so for other simulation, we need to put more efforts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps in creating simulation environment, where users can actually test the plant without actual development of the plant. This helps in finding area of improvement and gain the feasibility.

What do you like best about the product?
From my point of view, Solid Edge is a lightweight and seamless software that offers the same comparable features and compatibility. As someone who holds an associate-level certification, I appreciate how Solid Edge simplifies the assembly of joints with its integrated functions, as well as its rendering and meshing capabilities. I appreciate Solid Edge's supports for the students either through free student version download or Solid Edge University community
What do you dislike about the product?
In my opinion, the drawback of utilizing SolidEdge pertains to its UI/UX. Specifically, I am not fond of the small function icons on the ribbon, which are not well-categorized. When I was a beginner at Solid Edge, I encountered this same issue, and it did not capture my attention. Comparing with software like Fusion 360, which gives a better UI experience for beginners.
