All-round solution for anything starting from fundamental part design to most complex assemblies
What do you like best about the product?
An easy-to-use interface with an advanced 3D modeling system (Ordered & Synchronous) makes Solid Edge one of the best. This, along with integration together with a host of other Design & Engineering tools, enable organizations to implement Solid Edge end-to-end.
What do you dislike about the product?
Curve & Surface creation could be improved a bit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solid Edge helps to speed up the design creation through Synchronous Technology. At the same time, imported CAD models can be easily modified/revised through various features like Design Intent, 3D Face Relationships, & Steering Wheel.

Great tool for designing a single product to high end assemlies
What do you like best about the product?
I like the synchronous modeling and Keyshot rendering feature, which are unique and also highly reliable while working. In Solid Edge, 3D modeling is quite easy and adaptive. Also, in the latest V 2023, its user interface is quite improved, which I liked.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is still evolving and adding features which sometimes limits the capabilities of what can we do at certain point in designing some of the components. I would love to see more improvements in detailing of some of the commands like simulation, modeling etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solid Edge is basically for the new age designer and evolving designers who are learning to design certain products. Also, due to its capability to work with heavy assemblies and complex parts with different extensions, it is widely accepted in the industry.
Powerful solid modeling software tool
What do you like best about the product?
In Solid Edge, I can directly start with 3D modeling, which is better in my view. This software lets me build a model of a 3D object from scratch, whereas with other software, I have to draw the whole part in 2D and model in 3D afterward. So, it's faster and more efficient for me.
What do you dislike about the product?
Solid Edge needs a lot of PC resources (like high RAM, fast processor, etc.) requirements. It takes a high amount of time in some cases. So, these are problematic some times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As I am a professional design engineer, so my day-to-day responsibility is to build three-dimensional models and two-dimensional drawings of the views of the models. For these purposes, the solid edge is helpful for me.
Great CAD Package
What do you like best about the product?
Solid Edge is a powerful and robust solid modeling software designed to quickly and easily create 3D models. It is fast, but it can also be quite complex if you want to access its full potential. Solid Edge's learning curve is not steep, so you can pick up the basics quickly. If in doubt, it would be best to learn on more complex projects such as external single-axis axis designs using its very strong multi-axis functionality.
What do you dislike about the product?
Solid Edge software is not for complex assemblies. It is known to crash if any feature beyond basic assembly comes. The program handles complex assemblies and parts well, but legs sometimes with alternate assemblies. Solid edge also allows us to manipulate the parts library quickly and we can do revisions easily.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It majorly solves our solid modeling problems. Three-dimensional or 3D solid modeling of the products can be done easily and quickly with this CAD package.

The Darft-environment and the graphic performance

Better functionality in the Draft environment and better step conversion

What do you like best about the product?
Initially, I started working on this software during my college time. At that time, I used the free (student) version of the solid edge software. I found that the user interface of this software is quite engaging so that we can easily make 2D drawings and 3D models. Along with drawing and modeling, this software is also capable of doing computer-aided engineering of the models. So, this tool is helpful for the initial product development phase.
What do you dislike about the product?
The overall user interface of this software is quite engaging, but it is older. Siemens should work and make the user interface more engaging so that 3D modeling can be done easily. For CAE, this is not a good tool because it takes a huge time to do computer-aided engineering of the models.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool is helpful for the initial phase of product development. At initial, engineers need to make the product's three-dimensional model (3D) and two-dimensional drawing (2D). Along with drawing and model of the product, engineers also need to analyze the models. And all these things are possible with this software.
Good CAD/CAE tool
What do you like best about the product?
Solid Edge is a product of the simens family, a good tool for CAD (computer-aided design) and CAE (computer-aided engineering). As this tool is a product of the simens family, its user interface is similar to other devices like Solidworks. This tool allows us to do computer-aided design and computer-aided engineering of models in a single place.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface of this tool is somehow older. This tool legs when we perform CAE (computer-aided engineering) of the models. So, it is a good tool for CAD and not for CAE because its CAE feature is not as good as other tools like Ansys.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool is primarily useful when we want to do computer-aided designing of the products. We can make 2D drawings along with 3D models of the products easily. So, overall it is helpful for CAD.

SolidEdge: a great experience!
What do you like best about the product?
The cost-value ratio. I have found SolidEdge to have great tools and thecnologies that come in hand when designing products, which are not present on other products I've tested.
What do you dislike about the product?
SolidEdge's keyboard customization limits. NX, for example, provides a wide variety of adjustments and configurations regarding keyboard shortcut personalization. I've found SolidEdge to lack some of those features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SolidEdge's development team is always trying to provide the best technologies and tools, making product design easier and more efficient. The competence SolidEdge has regarding CAD features provides a whole range of tools that help solve many design problems.
