Its a great tool all around.
What do you like best about the product?
The User-Interface is similar to other popular 3d modeling in the market, so transitioning will be easy for most users, and since it's from the Seimens family some connection with other software and PLM systems is a plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes lacking details or cartoonish look of models, which is sometimes a negative since most companies prefer realism in there in their products on the get go.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A good 3d modeling software with a good all-around features that will partner well other Seimens software of PLM systems which provides automation and robust design criteria.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are already using other Seimens software or PLM system and are on the lookout for a new 3d modeling software, no better to use Solid Edge

Very easy to use, lots of functions in comparison to solid works
What do you like best about the product?
Has a good simplistic approach similar to solidworks, however much more functionality which makes building parts more efficient. Also the possibility of doing 3D drawings.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pattern command is slightly confusing to use, and you have to see the tutorial for the curved pattern before you use it. Also it's not possible to share files with users of previous versions of the software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allowing the transition to 3D drawings for mechanical seals and systems, to allow an easier job for the machinists downstairs. Also benefits with lots of training provided.

What do you like best about the product?
I started using Solid Edge at the start of my Engineering. What I loved about Solid Edge was the ease of using the task bar and the other functions. Also,, the precision with which I could draw the lines.
What do you dislike about the product?
Though there is nothing to dislike I found the lack of the help menu or the help guide to use Solid Edge if I get stuck anywhere in the application. Also, few glitches while joining the dots are something that I could not stand with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Coming from Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineering background, Solid Edge helped me solve 3D modelling and Dynamic Simulation more effectively and efficiently. Also, I could save a lot of time while preparing the part programming.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
While starting to use the software, don't have any prejudice or bias. Just go with the flow. If you don't know how to use the software, there are lot of tutorials to make once life easy.
Solid edge, a walk in the park design software.
What do you like best about the product?
With advanced features like fluid dynamic simulations, temperature simulations, drop tests, force tests and also advanced simulation, this software is one of the best there is.
What do you dislike about the product?
A solid edge is a software that is not so popular. No downsides but it depends also on the designer's capability in using the software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
simulation for the new product design.

Solid edge user interfaces are very much user-friendly. Easy to understand especially if you already have used other modeling or design software (just like a walk in the park).
Pretty Descent Software for a small scale industry
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Solid edge since my college from SP20, till date with Solid edge 2020.
I have been through all the tough phases SE has gone through, it has improved a lot over the years. Being an expert in this software now, feels like flying a plane blind folded.
It's such mediocre user-friendly software. And I love the synchronous modelling, It's a revolutionary method to use 3D CAD.

What do you dislike about the product?
This is not a fool proof, manufacturing friendly software. We can create wonders using the 3D Modeling, but they might not be 100% practical in reality. Especially, Sheet metal is some utter nonsense with very basic operations with lot of issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solid edge helps me get through my day to day CAD Modeling & drawings, helps me quickly draft a concept based on the project requirement & present it in front off my teams and simply convey my idea, instantly during meetings with customers, in a simpleway.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Solid edge support center is not a helpfull team. They do not have solutions to our problems, they just ask for CAD models for resolving the issue. Which is immpossible in most companies, due to data sharing policies.
We just end up registering an un-solveable complaint.

That you can't safe constrain positions in Model views.

We are mainly 3 times faster with Synchronous Modelling. But there are much more Things.

We are using Solid Edge over 22 years and never thought we made a bad decision. Believe you can use tools from the whole Siemens portfolio. It's scalable like your business 👍

The CAM facility needs expanding, however is suspect this will evolve.

What do you like best about the product?
starting environment of solid edge is good, Solid edge offers wide variety of features to designers to model any object simple and complex. Its a PARAMETRIC software. Provides Solid,Part, Sheet Metal, Drafting environment. It gives live dimensions while drawing line or square or circle. Solid edge is a 3D cad Software. The best is i am able lock/unlock sketch plans in Solid edge, and I think this feature is not available in any other software. Also I like explode assemblies feature in solid edge. Speed of solid edge is excellent, also aesthetics/screens and default coloursare great soits not stressful for user. Drawing tool, 3D tool, rendering tools all are great. File size is comparatively less. Also I am able to Import/ Export almost all types of files in solid edge.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is need od improvement in sketch environment as well as in drafting environment. Also right click to end command is not a good idea. Also I can't find more Industries / people using solid edge in India. Plastic modelling is not easy in solid edge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can handle large assemblies very fast in solid edge. Using solid edge i am creating different and lots of configurations to use next time, so for me its time saving. I am able to change location of commands/bar as per my convenience so easy to find commands.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Part modelling, Drafting, sheet metal modelling makes easy using solid edge. Also documentation, basic simulation is done in solid edge. So i recommend to Industries to use solid edge to save time and cost.

Interactivity with Excel is significant for our workflow as we have full parametric models driven by Excel design tools which leverage variable data stored elsewhere
