Amazing experience with Solid Edge
What do you like best about the product?
All the great features from modelling to analysing and presenting which made Solid Edge a very compromising set of software to be used in both academics and industrial use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Due to experiencing variety of 3D modelling software (CAE), i noticed that there have been a greater accessibility in term of changing the modelling data type in other software in compare to Solid Edge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used Solid Edge in both my course subject which was Computer Aided Engineering course and for my final year project that involved 3D printing. I used Solid Edge to model the 3D objects and analyse them using the finite element analysis offered by Solid Edge, which proven to be necessary and useful for the project continuity.

Great 3D program
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to use. Great interface and usability.

What do you dislike about the product?
Its difficult to make organic objects, coming from Rhinoceros 3D its a bit tough to make certain objects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps a lot in the changes that I have to make on specific areas of the product. I change a dimension and it automatically updates and does a great job.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good solid program

What do you like best about the product?
Complexity of the system and availability of guides. Most of the software dont have this level. If you need more try developing another.
What do you dislike about the product?
Need an update of the workaround and gui. Top bars and icons need to be accessible from keyboard shortcuts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Rocket design whith more organic shapes. The next level of aerodynamic shapes its here.
Very usefull for the beginners which makes them to understand the variety of softwares

The diagrams can be in 3-D and is very useful in learning the data in every step and makes the things in a pictorial form . it can be used by anyone having best features and making the features useful .Design of a model, stimulation of a model, data management, publications. It uses the defined parameters and obtain the required model
What do you dislike about the product?
Staring it is difficult to understand and makes things complicated. Licence is paid. So access is denied to common use. The graphics performance is not to the mark. If the windows version is high it takes time to be in that part and does not match it
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is used in building the component and making the 3-D component of a product. As told earlier it is not good for the higher version of the system and it has most of the software in the windows 7 version. It is not developed to the higher version of the system.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Solid edge is very beneficial for the build up of the model . Where a individual pieces can be converted into a single model. making the graphic level improved and useful.

Once you learn how to use the program, you can draw really fast. Also assembley is really good. There are lots of pre deigned parts that are really usefull, just like car parts, or nuts, washer, barrels, 3d pinter parts,
What do you dislike about the product?
Learning curve is kind of hard,you should try not to give up at the begining. Just keep up learning and this will be a great too for hobbyists at least.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it mostly for aeromodelling. So i can 3d print my own parts for my planes.

dont give up at start, just continue using despite of being hard at the begining

Fast response on each command, ability to export files to Cad format

Too many options when right clicked, icona can be illustrated better

Sweep command will make a lot difference when designing balustrades or handrails
Very intuitive program with very powerful tools.

Synchronous Technology is the most useful and powerful tool i have ever used in a CAD software.

The user interface could be more stylish.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have learned to be more organised with my projects from the beginning to take advantage of the synchronous technology which then saved me a lot of time and effort.

It's 2d modeling, it is one of the best for beginners and students, easy to use, easy to understand.

3d assembly design is quite slow may be because of graphics and design of complex models are quite difficult

Basic things like modeling ,drafting, detailing can be done very easily and it is very user friendly

7.User friendly, most colleges prefer this software for students.

I used it for part designing or drawing. It help get my work done fast.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your new to designing then first preference must be solidedge. If your work is restricted to part design and assembly then go for solidedge. For rendering work I suggest NX amd for aerodynamic modelling(sheet modelling) go for catia.
