Excellent Enginering Design Software
What do you like best about the product?
It has a huge amount of tools to design complex geometries using a friendly interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
The FEM Tool is very poor and the option to transfer the Inventor Files to other FEM Software used to be tough
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it to design complex Machines and devices and make technical planes of them. For example, I have been able to design machines to test pumps in the oil and gas industry

What do you like best about the product?
This program is very practical to design many kinds of products, it also has the advantage that it can be sent directly to print the piece
What do you dislike about the product?
The design with Synchronous Technology, can disorient those who use it for the first time, I think more documentation is necessary.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Thanks to solid Edge you can reduce and improve deadlines when importing parts from other programs

It is a very interesting software that allows you to migrate files without problems

What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is very efficient when user properly. I think the key to this is knowing the keyboard commands when navigating and building the model.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no easy way to find a comprehensive list of commands and new shortcuts that have become available now I have graduated university.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use solid edge a lot for my 3D modelling when designing new models. I also enjoy the easy export to a STL file so it can be 3D printed.
Very good software, hard for beginners but

I like that the posibilities are pretty much endless, you can do a wide variety of designs with this software. You can start your design and sent it to the printer all in one, focusing your attention in the task!
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the interface is a little bit complicated for someone new, it could be a little bit more user friendly. The community helps a lot, but could use a little more help or guidance to do basic tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work with 3d printers, I can design, test and print my files really quick without the need of aditional softwares, It doenst take up a lot of space in my computer and it runs fast as I dont need much more...before i needed 3 sotfwares and move the file around a lot, now i just open solid and i'm good to go

Accesibility, I like to have the different axis clearly marked for better understanding.
What do you dislike about the product?
Icons seem a bit messy. It should be a bit more user friendly. Other than that, i think it's a good tool.

I’m trying to find the best software for 3D design and 3D printing. My business needs some expensive parts and i think i may be able to print them.

Try the product. I'ts really useful and, after a bit of trial and error, you can master it.

I like the sheet metal tools that are very complete. I also like the ordered vs synchronous mode.
What do you dislike about the product?
Solid Edge is less user friendly than other platform on the market. Difficult to use when you are a solidworks user without knowledge of solid edge.

It was my first cad software that i learned in school. it showed me the large amount of potential 3d modeling has.

What do you like best about the product?
It has exceptional features with easy to use tools. It does not use much system resources as other cad software. Although a good system is recommended it works with market available equipment.
What do you dislike about the product?
It should have an option to save files to earlier versions. The only problem I've found is that you can no share a file with a computer using an older version of the software. The same or higher version must be installed on the computer you are sharing with.

Faster solid file creation and cam capabilities. Can also be added to various tools to make your work faster and easier. Addons are part of the ease of use.
A solid edge viewer may be installed on phones, tablets or pcs for people that will not be drawing.
The use of floating licenses makes it easier to use between a large group of designer while multi tasking.

One thing that is very important is the channel through which you buy your license. Training is essential and a must so you are able to get the most out of this amazing tool.
When using the tool remember to add extra tools like a 3d mouse and a trackball for better precision.
It is alsi important to pay for the yearly maintenance plan so you can get updates and support all the time. The software is usually updated once a year, and it has many features that can help your company grow. Added formats and different look and feel will make your experience better.

What do you like best about the product?
You have many options to develop a figure what makes easier to do the details without so many problems. You have the option to create a map or to create an explded view in a few period of time. It is an easy and complete programme to work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have so many problems to get points connected when you draw on the xy plane so we have to repet more times than expected the figures. There were few video tutorials if you compare with other designs programmes. It hadn't have so many materials interface options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With solid edge I could create and print the piece I need. Although, I have been developing proyects to create 3D pieces using solid edge as design programme. My exploded view could be imported to other programmes and use it on word.

If you are looking for an easy programme, Solid Edge could be a good beginning
