PostHog is a powerful product analytics platform that combines event tracking and session replays.

What do you like best about the product?
- Open-source and self-hostable (full data ownership & privacy).
- All-in-one: analytics, feature flags, session replays, experiments, and heatmaps.
- Scales from startups to enterprises with flexible deployment (cloud or self-hosted).
- Strong developer tooling and integrations with modern stacks.
- Active open-source community and transparent development roadmap.
What do you dislike about the product?
- Steeper learning curve compared to simpler analytics tools.
- Self-hosting can require significant infrastructure and DevOps effort.
- UI/UX may feel less polished than commercial-only competitors (e.g., Amplitude, Mixpanel).
- Advanced features can get expensive on the cloud-hosted plan.
- Less plug-and-play for non-technical teams without developer support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Instead of needing separate tools for analytics, feature flags, session replays, A/B testing, and heatmaps, PostHog combines them all.

Really satisfied with the service till now and obviously recommended

What do you like best about the product?
As a developer myself, it was maybe the easiest thing to implement and integrate with my website. There was no hassle at all. The dashboards contain a lot of data, and I kinda like the design style they're going for. I haven't contacted their customer support yet cause there has been no need so far, and everything's quite self-explanatory. I am not using it daily till now, but in a few weeks, I know I'll need it almost every day to check my analytics.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, nothing honestly. I would love to see if you could make the design a little more spacious-looking without compromising data visibility. Also, I'm not sure if there are any fine controls, like if I wanna particularly turn off the "session recording" feature for my site, can I do that? If not, I'd love to have this flexibility.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's helping me track the traffic my website gets like time, region, device type, OS etc. These really helps me tailor my site to the specifics to where its getting the most response or attention from.

Really good experience overall - mobile support could use some work

  • September 14, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how accessible the data is (via raw SQL)
What do you dislike about the product?
The mobile view of the dashboards are pretty terrible. Often times the layout is so bad I can't even see the data I am looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I get user count information, tracking on key actions (applying for jobs on a family of related job board websites), and also referring domain info (useful for figuring out where my traffic is coming from)

Power full tool but hard to handle at first step

  • September 12, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really liked the installation and the tutorials that are available. The tool is powerful and the number of tools included is impressive. The pricing is clear.
What do you dislike about the product?
I found it rather difficult to exploit the first events that come back because you have to globally build these dashbards
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A powerful tool for analytics, A/B testing, and surveys

Fairly intuitive for a newbie

  • September 11, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Quick to set up, glitch-free app, above average site navigation, extremely fast updates on what my website is doing and fair pricing.
What do you dislike about the product?
I was disappointed there wasn’t any easier to read dashboard. If there was a dashboard created from the user experience perspective as opposed to what’s currently in place, which is more of a technician’s perspective, I think it would be much more enjoyable to use.

My perspective is that of a business owner so I’m only using this tech out of necessity so for people like me it’d be nice if there was a friendlier interface.

For example, if you were to click on a particular aspect of a Tableau-looking dashboard, then you’d get the granular window pop-up.
That would be pretty cool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I need to assess my copywriting, how people interact with it.
I need to track my call to actions as well as which call to actions attract more attention.

Lastly, being able to know traffic sources is super vital.

PostHog made Monsha 5x better in weeks!

  • September 10, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
PostHog just gets what startups like us require!

Monsha was struggling with understanding what the users actually facing. We tried many things - manual loggers, log forwardings, screen capture tools...but nothing made things easy.

As the CTO, I just loved how each tool kind of tells the story as a whole. What events users causes, how did they do it, how our LLM performed (thanks for this tool at the perfect time btw!), and many more.
Implementing or integrating those are super easy, we use PostHog religiously.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not 'dislike', but setting up some insights and connecting two different things felt a bit complicated.

Would love more configurations for the Session Replay tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Watching user's session replays and fixing bugs quickly.
2. Auto exception capture is a life-saver as we're a small team and whole codebase is not fully covered for bug-tracking.
3. Easy cohort analysis (crucial for us)
4. Understanding when some key events are occurring and what.
5. Cheap LLM analytics.
