Data informed decisions

  • November 03, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to zoom into any particular funnel and find the screens or steps that are causing users to leave the experience and flow. The links are easy to share to colleagues and the visuals are also easy to understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve to set up a funnel was tricky for myself. I needed a developer on my team to help me understand how the questions I wanted to answer translated to screen events.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We never had an easy way to learn from our designs. Now, we have a platform that lets us see if the work we ship is working or not working. We can use this data-point to help make decisions.

Easy integration and great value

What do you like best about the product?
The generous free tier for YC companies is amazing, makes PostHog a no brainer for using it as the analytics tool of choice. The support (e.g. Slack community) is also very helpful and active.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are still ramping up on how to create customized dashboards in Posthog, I wish it was easier to translate my idea query into an easy dashboard (e.g. what are the most visited pages on my website?)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PostHog helps us with analytics. They help us understand where our users come from, what they do on the website, and what we should do as a leadership team going forward.

Awesome platform

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I was impressionnant in how our data can be used with Posthog. I did many things in a short time: cohort analysis and user lifecycle in a simple way. It's not necessary a big know about data to use this platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
I didn't have time to test all features in posthog app, so I'm not ready to write a dislike commentary, but maybe a visual onboarding process in the platform can be helpful to for beginners.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Posthog I choose how I want to see my dashboard and follow some events of the product. The greatest benefit for me, was stopping doing a lot of tables in excel and starting to have time to do more intelligent analyses.

Good event logging, but aggregation is hard

  • November 02, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The user journey recordings are great! Also, the funnel logging.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is hard for us to get the aggregate dashboards that we want. An example would be how many users opened the app/website in the past month.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We want to understand what our users are doing and how our funnels work.

Superb Community Support

What do you like best about the product?
Have been using Posthog for a year now, and the ease of setting up the analytics is just awesome. In a few clicks, I was able to set-up my newly launched product analytics.
What do you dislike about the product?
The event loading was quite slow initially, but that turned out to be some deployment issue at our end. It improved after that but I think it can still be improved more to access events/recordings faster
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To get quantitative data about clicks and events on our website, so that we can iterate fast and improve our layout, designs and functionalities. With recordings we were able to improved our offerings without even talking to a single user!

Using PostHog for professional use for about a month now

  • November 02, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to integrate and implement into an application. The JavaScript library works great!
What do you dislike about the product?
More freedom and varieties of diagrams. Right now you're limited to a basic set, you don't have the tools to create a more advanced graph.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Giving insight into our application. Who is using it and how? We're experimenting with a new UI/UX, and PostHog gives us the information to see if the users are using the new features.

Good, even using it from a BI perspective

  • November 02, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and good API to implement it with python or other stacks
What do you dislike about the product?
From a BI perspective, we would like to push data regarding the Users, to add information about them that we in our databases. But we are facing many issues while doing this, even using their API
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting more insights about the use of our app than using other tools like google analytics.

Posthog Experience

  • October 24, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Posthog Service has been great and very scalable for the heavy amount of events we ingest. The recording feature has been huge for our company and developers for troubleshooting customer and internal issues. Technical Support has been pretty great. Shout out to Tiina Turban for all the help troubleshooting and helping our setup run smooth!
What do you dislike about the product?
The application is complex, and finding the culprit for an outage can sometimes be cumbersome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
event ingestion on a large scale and session recordings to help troubleshoot and collect click data.

Has great potential

  • October 10, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Combines A/B testing, metric gathering, feature flags and session recording all-in-one. Does not have complicated or sneaky pricing like competitors do. Straightforward product.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lacks maturity and stability. Some bugs in the dashboard that require logging out and back in. You don't have to dig deep to find missing features. After using it for just a couple weeks, found some features that were on GH with many votes but have yet to see the light of day. For example, there's no way to make a cohort by an event with a specific property.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
How to make data-driven decisions and stop guessing which features convert more users. PostHog lets us run experiments with our users to optimize conversion in our app.

Very versatile and powerful analytics tool all-in-one, once you know how to set it up!

  • October 06, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Live recordings
- A/B tests (experiments)
- The launchpad from which you can select actions no-code
- heatmaps
- design - it's quite beautiful and a good tool for viewing analytics
-> all-in-one solution, without needing to install extras like hotjar

Also, the trackers are quite aggressive (sophisticated).
What do you dislike about the product?
- Setup for more complicated tasks is challenging as the docs are yet incomplete. For example, several config options in the initialisation function are not explained anywhere in the docs (e.g. methods for adjusting GDPR). In any case, the docs should contain more examples through code than written explanations.
- No warning panel for experiments and other features before stopping/deleting them. I once thought stop meant pause and killed my entire experiment (wasn't too tragic as it hadn't fully started yet)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Validating design and product hypothesis, measuring out conversion funnel, quantitative and qualitative ways to analyse a customer
