(Almost) perfect for small-medium business on a budget

What do you like best about the product?
Price-to-quality ratio. You get a lot for free, and even after the free plan, you don't have to pay much to get a lot.
What do you dislike about the product?
The whole platform is created by devs, and thus, sometimes it is hard to get the information you need to do something basic. If you are a developer - great, if not, you'll spend a bit more time poking around to find what you need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Track user behaivour and solving potential problems.

Simple setup but limited hands-on experience so far

  • August 01, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
PostHog was straightforward to set up and the initial dashboard looked promising with a lot of built-in analytics features. I liked that it’s open-source and can be self-hosted if needed, which gives flexibility compared to other analytics tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven’t used it extensively yet, so I can’t comment on deeper functionality. The interface feels a bit overwhelming at first, and some of the advanced features require more configuration than expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PostHog aims to unify product analytics, session recording, feature flags, and A/B testing into a single platform, reducing the need for multiple tools. For me, the main benefit is having everything in one place without needing to wire together third-party services, especially for self-hosted setups.

Total autonomy to understand the user without leaving your infrastructure

  • July 31, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about PostHog is that it combines power and total control. It allows us to capture and analyze custom events, build funnels, launch A/B tests, and review session recordings from a single tool, without needing to send data outside our infrastructure. This is key to complying with privacy and adapting analytics to our product without limitations or hidden costs.

Additionally, its open source model gives us the flexibility to deploy it internally, integrate it with our stack, and scale according to our needs. It's like having your own Mixpanel + Hotjar + LaunchDarkly, but without losing control or paying prohibitive prices.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial complexity can be a challenge: you need a certain technical foundation to deploy it and adjust it to your needs. Additionally, some integrations or plugins require manual configuration or even custom development if you want to go beyond the basics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PostHog can be complex at first, especially if you decide to use it in self-managed mode. It requires good infrastructure, technical knowledge for deployment (Docker, Kubernetes, databases), and some time to configure custom events and dashboards. Additionally, some advanced features are constantly evolving and may need adjustments or testing before being stable in production.

Great replacement for Mixpanel

  • July 31, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Basically drop-in replacement for Mixpanel, just much faster and more reasonably priced.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Dashboard UI changes often, just when I learn it well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PostHog helps me understand how our users are using Pareto Cloud and how to make the experience better for them.

Amazing experiences with PostHog

  • July 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful thing about PostHog is how open they are with their users, being able to look through their website and be able to understand their company, pricing and great customer support. It has been easy to use PostHog as they have so much developer focused documentation which makes use, implementation and integration easy. I use it for all of my personal projects and I am starting to use it for more and more clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far I haven't found anything that I dislike, the only thing is that there are so many features that it can be overwhelming, but they have also added new features to help fix this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PostHog helps me with observability across what I create, from being able to see what users are doing but also with session replay being able to actually watch them interact with my websites is amazing.

PostHog is a great all-in-one analytics tool

  • July 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that PostHog gives you full control over your data and has everything built-in—analytics, session replays, feature flags—so you don’t need a bunch of separate tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it can feel a bit complex to set up or navigate, especially if you're new to product analytics. Also, self-hosting needs some technical know-how.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PostHog helps track user behavior, run experiments, and watch session replays—all in one place. It saves time by not having to switch between tools and gives a clearer picture of how people use our product.

What do you dislike about the product?
The UI could use some work in comparison to other tools
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Simple yet powerful analytics platform

  • July 27, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
PostHog setup and out-of-the-box offering is amazing! Their free plan allow you to play around and really understand the platform before committing to a plan and even so, their limits are so generous that on a small to medium size app you won't reach their paid tier.
What do you dislike about the product?
PostHog WebUI is not the best, it's confusing for non-tech people and finding the right place to visualiza metric can be improved. Their SDK are really good and helpful but I would ask for improved Typescript types.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Analytic tracking across a AI native product
