Very helpful with an extremely generous free plan

What do you like best about the product?
I honestly don’t even use all of their features, which is great. Without even having to pay you get so much stuff just for completely free. I just use analytics but I could set up feature flags and so much more very quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly not much. I don’t have many complaints, but I guess the layout could be clearer because it’s just so powerful that I’m not even sure what everything does.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I didn’t know how many people were using on my site, or how long they were spending, or if they were coming back. I’m able to track that now, without invading on my users’ privacy or giving their data to a mega corporation. And that helps me make a better product because I can reach out to people who dropped off and fix what they didn’t like.

Refreshingly Good Product Analytics

  • June 27, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
All the product analytics features you need with generous free tier limits so your team can try any features without risk.

Allows product teams to see what is important and straightforward dashboard configuration makes it possible for non-technical departments to set up data they need to see.

Posthog allowed us to ditch multiple other analytics tools that were frustrating to use and didn't provide the complete package.
What do you dislike about the product?
Though it is very well designed, the breadth of features means it takes some time to get familiar with and find your way through the platform.

I would have complained about the amount of links in the sidebar, but I noticed in a recent UI refresh it is possible to set your own custom shortcuts sidebar so you only see what you need once you get the hang of it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Posthog helps us understand how features are used and being adopted in our product. It helps inform our team of what product and marketing improvements we can test.

Easy setup for instant insights

  • June 27, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to set up and use (the new ai setup is great) and the out-of-the-box ready session replays
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI is a little overwhelming initially when logging in for the first time to understand what all I'm looking and and should do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Posthog is giving us insights into how our users use our product. Watching session replays helps expose "bugs" that we hadn't realized were happening as well.

I could not imagine going with anyone else than PostHog for analytics.

What do you like best about the product?
PostHog is such a comple suite of tools from everything analytics related. And it provides a bunch of other awesome things. I use it for proffesional work, and even for all of my own hobby projects. Theres just nothing that competes.
I also love the fact that its open-source as well, so its super easy to self-host if need be.

Its also a brease to set up in various environments, for example, we currently use it with a NextJS project internally and it was a brease to set set up.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dont have much negatives about PostHog, the only thing i can really think of is that its a bit hard to "delete" data / events. A simple "delete" button would do wonders, But other than that + their API being really slow at times i have no negative things to say about them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Session Replays, error event capturing and such helps me catch errors, analyse the bugs & errors users are experiencing without relying on the users sometimes incomplete bug reports. With session replays i can see everything from netowrk requests, console logs, and an actual "video" of what exactly the user is doing.

Ofc we use product analytics and what not as well, but thats not whats important to us as, as the current project is for internal use only.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping me handle all my analytics all in one platform.

Posthog is perfect for Product Managers

  • June 24, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I particularly love Posthog because of the session replays feature. It allows us to gain insights about how users use what we’ve built.
Also the payment plans are perfect, don’t touch them
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really it’s been a perfect experience
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Knowing what features users care about and don’t care about

Smooth and nice looking UI

  • June 23, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to understan, yet powerful when needed (like the sql editor). The UI is very nice looking and the experience feels very smooth and responsive. It was super smooth to integrate with next js. The implementation I didn't even need to touch (to start with at least). I have no experience with customer support. I've used post hog for about 3 months of and on.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's an all-in-on solution. It's both a positive and a negative of course but at the end of the day you need to convince the client to take the whole package. Maybe you don't have to use all of the features but if feels like it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I get everything that I need in a easy to use package, very cheaply.

Excellent deep analysis of site usage, great UI, and outstanding tooling

  • June 23, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Heatmaps, replays, tracking, integrating immediately into the platforms we use with ease. Ease of implementation is simple work to get incredibly deep analytics.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly can't see any significant downsides to using PostHog. It checks all the boxes we currently need, with a beautifully generous free plan, and obvious options to upgrade if we need more, including self-hosted open source support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Observability and logging for our frontends, catching errors our users encounter and allowing us to replay them later, meaning we have no issues trying to reproduce errors.

Very good tool to make data-driven decisions for small startups

  • June 23, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- The chain of feature-flag, beta features program, and surveys involves the engineering and product teams in the feature delivery process. And provide a way to make data-driven decisions even for small traffic and a small amount of data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing, so far. All features are very useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Beta program and flexible surveys from PostHog let us deliver features quickly, review the feedback from real customers, and decide what to do with the feature.

PostHog Review

  • June 23, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about PostHog is how it brings product analytics, session recording, feature flags, and experimentation into one platform. It’s flexible, real-time, and gives us full control over our data—especially with the self-hosting option.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about PostHog is that it can be a bit complex to set up and navigate at first, and some parts of the UI could be more intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PostHog helps solve two key problems for me: understanding user behavior through product analytics and collecting direct user feedback via in-app surveys. This combination gives me both quantitative and qualitative insights, helping me prioritize features, improve UX, and make more informed product decisions—all in one platform.
