Event auto is promising but could be more assisted
What do you like best about the product?
Event auto catch is great to quick start analytics on MVPs
What do you dislike about the product?
Could be nice to have a list of events to pick from to build a first funnel dashboard. It took me some time to understand we needed to turn events in activity into action to build a funnel
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Need a simple analytics tool to have data on MVPs (built with lovable)
Once you have your insights and dashboards set up, Posthog is brilliant.
What do you like best about the product?
Session replay, customisation of insights, Claude can set everything up for you with Posthog MCP. Super generous free tier, then cheap after.
Max AI is incredidble for learning what you can do with the product, and it can build insights for you!

What do you dislike about the product?
The web analytics seem slightly inflated in both page views and unique visitors compared to our numbers on Plausible, or Vercel analytics.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Posthog solves the problem of understanding what users are doing on your app (through custom events) and how they got there (session replay).
Posthog changed my view of how to analyze data
What do you like best about the product?
Posthog is simple to set up, the dashboard is excellent and especially the session recording function has been crucial for my business.
What do you dislike about the product?
I tried the self-host and it really is a complex job to maintain infrastructure to ingest so many events. The prices end up being a bit prohibitive to pay for the cloudd version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With posthog we started to get a better understanding of how our consumers use our product and how we can improve our processes.
Useful but flawed
What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to plug in a user's email and being able to view recordings of their usage in our app.
What do you dislike about the product?
These recordings are unreliable and go missing constantly. It's not clear whether there's any rhyme or reason for this happening.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's helping me reproduce errors that our users are reporting.
Moving from Full Story to PostHog
What do you like best about the product?
We utilized full story for session replay and the most important feature for PostHog for me is session replay.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not see any feature that I disliked.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The session feature is very important for us, as we do not have access as a client user. The session replay functionality provides valuable insights and allows us to better understand and replicate issues.
But can Posthog do th.... Of course it can
What do you like best about the product?
Posthog understand what you need from usage analytics and feature flags. Every thing I need for getting their suite of tools implemented into my Next.js project was a breeze. I barely had to think to get it integrated and working. Its a tool I keep coming back to and if I need support their wiki is FULL of great info on how to do what you want.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't get a REAL hedgehog on my desk. I haven't come across something it did poorly or I couldn't do so as it stands there is nothing I dislike about Posthog. When I am setting up new projects, using Posthog is a no-brainer
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need feature flags, easily and ASAP for our greenfield solution. Posthog was something I'd seen used previously and gave it a shot in a Next.js project. Their docs had everything and got feature flags into our solution in under an hour, this really makes developing new features behind flags a BREEZE. Which means we can deploy smaller changes without worrying about user getting incomplete features

Feel like there is still a lot to explore but I cane to posthog because of session replay feature and I'm going to stay just for that for a very long time.

nothing to complain so far, I like everything In have seen so far

Great for startups

My experience setting up and getting posthog going was great: up to date documentation, straight forward api and default configuration already setup for direct results.

Still early in my use of posthog and new to web analytics but I have feeling I will be wanting for more control and customization.

Understands individual user experience of our product, identify issues early and track global trends

Nothing! We use posthog alongside with Fullstory and it works much better in most of the cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use PostHog to analyze how my users are using the app, also to troubleshoot when they face issues.
I used posthog on multiple project and i recommend to use it

I think the filter UX in insight, it can be complicated sometimes
