A better alternative to Mixpanel
What do you like best about the product?
PostHog is a tool that offers all the benefits of Hotjar and Mixpanel and even has more features, like the Feature Flag feature. Also, they have a great pricing model for startups
What do you dislike about the product?
They could improve their UI, but in general is good!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to measure different metrics in our product and to see which features are actually driving adoption and retention.
This is the most critical product you need for your analytics
What do you like best about the product?
It has everything baked in - session recordings, product analytics, surveys, LLM observability. Combined with great UI/UX and an extremely thoughtful , well-built product.
What do you dislike about the product?
I want to be able to filter data based on more granularity which as a non-technical user becomes slightly cumbersome.

Session Recordings
Feature Flagging
Running A/B tests
LLM observability
Everything is in one place

Simply delightful and easy-to-setup Product Analytics
What do you like best about the product?
Their website and the dashboard is easy to use and easy to navigate. The new (but still in beta) AI tool made integrating it into my existing Next.js codebase a breeze.
Even when I had a problem with the feature preview bugging, the lead developer of that team provided swift support on the matter.

What do you dislike about the product?
My application has few but high value users so I don't get to use app that much.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides me insight how my users use my application and how their customers behave in the store. All from analytics to feature flags allows me to provide smaller app bundles and make page loads faster for users.
A great service for small indie developpers
What do you like best about the product?
Putting a project on PostHog is very easy, they have nice SDKs for a wide variety of technologies. Their dashboard is relatively easy to use, while being quite powerfull
What do you dislike about the product?
Some parts about how to use the SDKs (documentation) can be improved. I'm used to not committing a secret to a repository, so leaving my posthog key into the code felt weird. When I tried to make it optional, I had all sorts of problem, and the documentation wasn't very useful.
Also, the analytics part of the dashboard is very powerful, but can be a bit overwhelming for new users

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Analytics are made very simple to implement, and managing feature flags or A/B testing is surprisingly easy

What do you dislike about the product?
Dashboard data refresh can be a bit slow
Retention charts always use cohorts to display data - there are no aggregated retention views

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use PostHog to track user behavior and perform A/B tests for new features by creating dashboards with the most important metrics that need to be monitored daily. It helps me to build better products and increase revenue
Effortlessly Simple Setup with Self-Hosting Option
What do you like best about the product?
PostHog impressed me with its remarkably simple setup process - I was up and running in minutes rather than hours. While I'm currently using their cloud offering, I greatly appreciate that they provide a self-hosted option. This flexibility aligns perfectly with my tech stack strategy, as I self-host several other tools in my workflow. Having the freedom to migrate to self-hosted if my needs change gives me confidence in PostHog as a long-term analytics solution.
As a developer who's battled with Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, and IBM Analytics, integrating PostHog into my Nuxt environment was refreshingly painless.
Their newsletter is one of the few I haven't unsubscribed from! It hits a sweet spot I rarely see in dev tools - a mix of practical PostHog tips alongside genuinely interesting tech explorations that aren't just thinly-veiled marketing fluff. It's like getting tactical advice from that one senior dev who's both technically sharp and surprisingly fun to hang out with.

What do you dislike about the product?
PostHog's extensive ecosystem is something of a double-edged sword, but their docs are solid.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Session replays in PostHog are a game-changer without the usual privacy headaches. The EU compliance factor isn't just marketing speak – their approach to anonymous session capturing means I don't have to maintain tracking implementations for European users.
Easy all-in-one analytics
What do you like best about the product?
Super easy to setup and understand, essentially just copying over a few one liners. Want session replays? Just flick the switch in the console and it’s done. It does absolutely everything you could want it to.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Web SDK isn’t as clear as the others. For example: at first glance there are many different ways to update a users attributes but only one way is correct.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have a complete overview of all my users on all my platforms and all their data is warehoused with Posthog. I couldn’t ask for more.
Does all I need and has generous free tier
What do you like best about the product?
Very generous free tier. Analytics and Session Recordings in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Loads of features I do not use, UI can feel crowded at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking of our campaigns and learning from session replays
Fantastic!!! I can't believe EVERYONE isn't using this.
What do you like best about the product?
The versatility of Posthog is just insane.
I'm a solo founder, which means I'm in charge of product and marketing at the same time.
Using their session replays, I can easily look at:
- How prospects are looking at the website - where they pause, where they skip, and where they convert
- How users are using the app, and where the UX needs to be improved
Plus, I can use their web analytics to figure out where my best traffic is coming from - without paying Vercel an extra $50/month.
At the same time, I love their marketing. It feels like an Apple product where you keep the box, except in this case you take screenshots and show people.
I remember when I signed up, their pricing was either "Completely free" or "Ridiculously cheap" which made me crack up.
And their marketing is always satirical but in the best way.
I've told multiple people already about the session replays in particular since I think it's critical for any business with a website, app, or anything else on the web.
Finally, they just added Error tracking which I've needed a solution for, but haven't taken the pill with Sentry yet. I'd much rather have it all in Posthog so it's awesome they have this feature.
To summarize, it's extremely versatile and I think everyone should be using it.

What do you dislike about the product?
Usually the loading times are a bit slow. Understandable because of the data-crunching that needs to occur, but Vercel is much faster and I find myself getting bored waiting for the data to load in Posthog.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem I solve with Posthog is user insight.
Previously, I would put things out on the internet (websites, apps, etc.) with GA4 for analytics so I could see what kind of traffic I was getting.
That worked, but bounce rate and opt-in rate are just numbers.
With Posthog, it's been game-changing to see where people read, scroll, or click to determine how the site/product should be better.
Now I can easily improve my marketing and product just by watching people use it to see where things need to be better.
