Generous free tier, easy integration, amazing tool

  • September 19, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Mostly that it's free for smaller (or less successful) businesses, but also (not in the beginning, but now) the easy integration with Nextjs. And finally the design which makes it more fun and less boring to work with. Also Max AI is a huge gamechanger! The autocapture feature that is zero-config makes working with it so much easier too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Frequent changes in code, necessary updates and some unclear terminology (if you're not into the ecosystem of analytics). But the docs often come to the rescue. Unfortunately comments in the docs (while a great feature) get neglected way too many times. Lastly Autocapture is an awesome feature, but it would be great if it was easier (or possible) to use the actions in order to create new dashboards, analytics - right now that's a bit cumbersome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Session replay gives me a clear indication how users behave and therefore solve the problem of not knowing on how users interact and what makes sense or doesn't. Product analytics show me where users come from, where they churn and therefore allow me to test and improve funnels, which would otherwise be guesswork.

Incredibly intuitive with a generous free tier

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of set up, including pre-built templates for things like NPS surveys, dashboards, and metrics. Great UX and significantly sped up our product analytics cycle.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes unclear where to find certain features due to how much functionality the platform offers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing feature flags and analyzing user behaviour, and collecting feedback through surveys triggered by certain conditions or behaviours.

Amazing product with slight hiccup recently

  • September 18, 2025

What do you like best about the product?
So many useful tools all in one place. It feels like posthog has all the utilities need for a new startup to succeed. The integrations of the features are also painless. Also, the people are so cool. Reporting a bug gets it fixed within 1-2 days. They also helped a lot with our startup credit. We use the tool very heavily to debug, get user interaction data and also tracing.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you asked me 2 weeks ago, I would have said nothing. But recently when using `posthog/ai` we faced quite a bit of hiccup. A lot of basic functionalities were broken is the typescript sdk and we had to debug and report them ourselves. It felt like a beta soft release rather than a proper one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The session replay is very useful for our product. When a user reports a bug or blocker, we can just view their session reply to see what the user journey looked like. We fixed a lot of critical bugs in this way and also helped with improve out UX in places where we noticed user getting lost.

Swiss knife for product launch

  • September 18, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love having most, if not all, of the tools anyone needs to launch a digital product: analytics, monitoring, surveys, and so forth. I have used all these tools in companies that invest hundreds of thousands of dollars in separate tools. With PostHog, you have them all in a single place for a fraction of the price.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, so far, I don't dislike anything. To be picky, I could say that the information is very dense, but for a tool like this, it can be expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Basically knowing if people is using my app and if they have issues using it.

PostHog is a powerful product analytics platform that combines event tracking and session replays.

What do you like best about the product?
- Open-source and self-hostable (full data ownership & privacy).
- All-in-one: analytics, feature flags, session replays, experiments, and heatmaps.
- Scales from startups to enterprises with flexible deployment (cloud or self-hosted).
- Strong developer tooling and integrations with modern stacks.
- Active open-source community and transparent development roadmap.
What do you dislike about the product?
- Steeper learning curve compared to simpler analytics tools.
- Self-hosting can require significant infrastructure and DevOps effort.
- UI/UX may feel less polished than commercial-only competitors (e.g., Amplitude, Mixpanel).
- Advanced features can get expensive on the cloud-hosted plan.
- Less plug-and-play for non-technical teams without developer support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Instead of needing separate tools for analytics, feature flags, session replays, A/B testing, and heatmaps, PostHog combines them all.

Really satisfied with the service till now and obviously recommended

What do you like best about the product?
As a developer myself, it was maybe the easiest thing to implement and integrate with my website. There was no hassle at all. The dashboards contain a lot of data, and I kinda like the design style they're going for. I haven't contacted their customer support yet cause there has been no need so far, and everything's quite self-explanatory. I am not using it daily till now, but in a few weeks, I know I'll need it almost every day to check my analytics.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, nothing honestly. I would love to see if you could make the design a little more spacious-looking without compromising data visibility. Also, I'm not sure if there are any fine controls, like if I wanna particularly turn off the "session recording" feature for my site, can I do that? If not, I'd love to have this flexibility.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's helping me track the traffic my website gets like time, region, device type, OS etc. These really helps me tailor my site to the specifics to where its getting the most response or attention from.

Really good experience overall - mobile support could use some work

  • September 14, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how accessible the data is (via raw SQL)
What do you dislike about the product?
The mobile view of the dashboards are pretty terrible. Often times the layout is so bad I can't even see the data I am looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I get user count information, tracking on key actions (applying for jobs on a family of related job board websites), and also referring domain info (useful for figuring out where my traffic is coming from)
