Easy to use A/B testing via feature flags, code only. No UI/visual editor.

What do you like best about the product?
There is good documentation for Node/Nuxt/JS, but it seems to assume that the user is already very comfortable with the testing concepts discussed. Howevever, I easily integrated PostHob in Nuxt. Using the UI, I easly created a fictitious scenario, was able to test my scenarios locally, and immediately began to track page views in the dashboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't figured out how to display the click events I've coded. I see them being sent when I inspect the network activity of the page. I can't change the name of the variants of my Experiment once it's created. So I'm stuck with "control" and "test". I can't create more of them. I also can't duplicate the Experiment to reuse it as a base.

Could use more flexibility.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're trying to assess which CTAs and popups on our many SSR websites are the most effective at driving conversions.

It's really good for technical people

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it shows me stats on my startup's early traffic!
What do you dislike about the product?
Before there was an easy way to see where a user was looking at the page from. I would go under screen recordings, then there was a button to see information on the user and where they were accessing from. I found a different unique menu that shows me a globe, cities, and regions from where people are accessing, but it's hard to decifer the information and it's less clear. I'm not really a technical person, so I feel like I have to learn a lot more before I can understand the data and that kind of frustrates me. Maybe posthog does have all of the same features, and it's possible it's primarily my fault as someone that doesn't understand it's capabilities, but I just wish it was easier to understand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I want to see if people are going to my website!

The best out there!

What do you like best about the product?
PostHog is the best analytics tool out there. I find it great that you can both get basic insights quickly without a lot of setup but also setup a long list of A/B tests, validate ideas etc!
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great if there would be automatic user creation / setup as it takes some time to manually track each event of a user when coding a new project. For example it could be integrated with NextAuth, which would be great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly tracking usage across users and getting early alerts of errors. PostHog helped me see issues that clients reported without needing to create a large amount of logs, which often can be time-intense.

The only product/web analytics platform I'll use

What do you like best about the product?
So many incredibly powerful features at low or no cost. It's unbelievable how much PostHog offers in their free account. Takes seconds to implement and is so easy to get value.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not a single downside I can think of. It's by far the best and most affordable analytics platform I've ever used.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need to know what is happening on our website and in our application. PostHog gives us all the details we need to understand usage and behavior. It is the most essential part of our digital data ecosystem.

All-in-one tool for tracking and improving user experience

  • December 12, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
PostHog is incredibly easy to set up and brings everything I need into one place. It’s easy to set up and has session recordings, events, and helpful charts. I can quickly see if users are new, returning, or inactive, and the cohort analysis is great.

I mostly use the session replay and event tracking features. They make it easy to understand user behavior and quickly spot frustrations to fix.
What do you dislike about the product?
The dashboard can feel overwhelming at times because there are so many options, and I only use a few of them regularly. I also wish it were easier to identify users by email. It requires manual setup right now. In other tools, this can be done through a global settings option, and having that in PostHog would save time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PostHog provides a one-stop solution for user analytics. This saves me time switching between tools and helps me quickly understand user actions and frustrations. As a result, I can make faster, data-driven decisions to improve the user experience.

What do you like best about the product?
Its super intuitive and easy to set up, especially in a team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of anything yet - there is a lot of data though and finding things can be a little tricky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's finding out where drop off is and how we can mitigate this.

Great analytics suite for tech startups

  • December 09, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Good SDK and documentation, easy setup, frequent updates, attention to detail in the product, and fair pricing model
What do you dislike about the product?
Using the platform can be overwhelming, especially for non-technical people who just got the invite to view some metrics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We want to easily log analytics of our product usage with custom events. PostHog allows us to do that with just a few lines of code and it has great opportunities for downstream analysis, weekly Slack messages, and a lot more.

What do you dislike about the product?
Bit clunky to create insights, graphs tend to break, slow
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collecting product analytics and session replays for a prototype

Amazing Features - OOTB analytics, Anonymous tracking, easy setup

  • December 09, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1) Quick and easy setup. Just add the script and we were live.
2) No need to identify users, and avoid PII regulations
3) We started with their free generous plan, and moved to paid.
4) Cohorts are very easy to build and setup
5) Value for money spent
What do you dislike about the product?
I love self onboarding rathar than hiring an expert. Their documentation need to have more videos and guides for advanced analytics. E.g.
1) if users who did event X and Y
2) They having a lot of data, should invent OOTB metrics that connect the root caseus. I love products that give me the next 'actionable' steps, after giving insights. Playbooks?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting insights on how the users are using the product is a goldmine infromation. These patterns and replays help understand the behavior and refine the pages and apps for the masses, instead of building features that will be used by only small fraction of users. How we answer all questions with data.
