Easy to get started

What do you like best about the product?
Quite easy to implement and get started using the product. The client and server SDK's work well.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you're using Next.js, then there's unfortunately there's no edge support. The server SDK works if the component is server-only, but if you have a component that's rendered on both the client and server, then the server rendering part won't have posthog enabled.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's great to have a single product that handles session replays, product analytics and feature management for us. While session replay is browser only (for obvious reasons), the other features also works on the server which is great!

What do you like best about the product?
Very intuitive UI, very easy to implement AB testing and session recording.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is difficult to filter out error events. We need a quick way to find out why customers cannot proceed but we do not want to click through all sessions to review it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using PostHog, we can understand how the UX/UI design of our product impacts conversion rate, it is very helpful to understand the pro/con of our producuts.

What do you like best about the product?
Posthog has many features all in one platform, no need to do five integrations to unlock all of the features they have.
What do you dislike about the product?
While there's not much to dislike, there are some ways I wish to use features that aren't built yet. But I'm excited to see them working on them!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quickly and easily understanding what users are doing on our platform. Posthog gives us that clarity so we can focus resources on what our users want.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To track user activity and keep new features under flags after deployment

Tons of functionality, one little snippet

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it was to add PostHog to our application, just popping in the API and the key is super simple, along with interacting with the API being a breeze to identify and group users.
What do you dislike about the product?
I kind of wish there was an easier way to get started with dashboards for different personas. For example, a "starter product manager view" and a "starter software developer view".
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's awesome to be able to see user journeys and retention, as well as session recordings, so that we can solve user experience issues and make our features more robust.

Session replay + event instrumentation = awesome

What do you like best about the product?
Very quick setup for a Nextjs application.
Then, in-line documentation to customize the analytics architecture.
And [if all of that wasn't sweet enough] session reply to see what users actually spend time on.
What do you dislike about the product?
Couldn't deploy it to AWS Amplify because of a broken posthog.js dependency :{
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Google Analytics became unreliable with inaccurate data after the GA4 migration.

a seemless and easy to use software

  • March 19, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
it was easy to use and the dashboard was easy to understand
What do you dislike about the product?
some of the documentation I found to be a bit confusing and would be better if they provided code examples for some more confusing stuff
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we needed feature flags in our application as we are starting to roll out new features for different clients and posthog was a software I found that allowed for that as well as other features we might consider in the future
