It was extremely easy to get started with PostHog

  • March 09, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Secondly, it was easy to get started completely free and have a lot of data about how our users use the app.

I love that it is open source and allows me to self-host.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have no complaints at the moment.

However, to be fully transparent I am adding this review to G2 because of the $25 gift card.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Session replay helps us understand how our users interact with our application.
It also allows us to easily see metrics about usage.

Feature flags suck compared to growthbook. Insights are worse than mixpanel

  • March 07, 2024

What do you like best about the product?
Sdks are intuitive, relatively easy to integrate
What do you dislike about the product?
The ui is so cluttered and is lackluster compared to dedicated tools for each sub feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Feature flagging and viewing events that users generate

PostHog is an all in one platform to understand how is our product performing

  • March 05, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to setup
Automatically gather and parse events
Record record user behavior
Launch surveys
Because it is all in one platform, we use it all the time in pair with the monitoring system
What do you dislike about the product?
The dashboard UI is somewhat difficult to use, they can defenitely add wizard flows
The pricing is complex and difficult to predict
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integrating tools and managing many platforms is difficult. PostHog makes it easy because it is all in one place and it is only one pricing to care about.

Ease to use and helpful to understand client's pain point to use of SASS platform.

  • March 05, 2024

What do you like best about the product?
We have fixed many bugs after integrating this platform. We understand the client's pain point to use of SASS platform and changed UI/UX accordingly.
What do you dislike about the product?
No much disadvantage but It should cache css files on their end so UI will not break in video.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its helpful to finding user's pain point.

Amazing plug and play

  • March 04, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I was amazed that just by including the dependency and setting up the PostHog Client (less than 10 lines of code) I could see all the events the users generated with rich details and in near real time. Things like knowing the text of the buttons right away from the UI when you don't have much traffic is super useful.

I thought that was it, for more functionality I would have to write more lines of code but then I enabled session replays and I was mind blown that I didn't have to do anything else to see exactly what each user was doing inside my site.

After the success of the previous two experiences I decided to try my luck with the dashboards, I didn't look at any tutorials or documentation and in less than ten minutes I had the insights I wanted in my default dashboard.

Eager to try out the surveys and notebooks.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have seen some reliability issues from time to time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Knowing with detail what my users do with very little effort.

So much better than Google Analytics

  • February 26, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- It's a great place to be able to record what your users do.
- You get to see the bounce rate and visitors.
- Can check how well your landing pages are perform
- Is able to offer more accurate tracking of your UTM links.

Signing up was easy and it is very easy to use, very intuitive.
The support that comes with the onboarding really helps new users ramp up on how to use posthog
What do you dislike about the product?
There really isn't anything that I dislike.
Although some documentation might be hard to follow and out of date, but with such a small team, that can be expected...

Might be nice to have an AI chatbot where you can ask directed questions about posthog and get a immediate and direct answer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was struggling to understand the analytics from Google and from Google ads.
I signed up with Posthog and was able to get a better view and sense of whether ads were performing or not.
With easy to see metrics, I can also look at multiple KPIs in one place, so it is very handy.

One really cool thing is how they make A/B testing easy with a couple of javascript snippets. Gives you an idea if your copy is working.

Talk about wow! Needed no nonsense, wheels + tools included solution - PostHog has it all

  • February 26, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Integrating up PostHog was simple and easy. It took me half an hour at most to swap from Split.io to PostHog, which is great.

I need something that had great support for cohorts with feature flags, and PostHog fit the bill. Now i dont have to be scared to frequently setup feature flags and be unsure if it will work. With PostHog I know it will work!
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm yet to find anything I don't like? Seriously, setup was almost painless.

The only thing I could have liked a little bit more documentation on was how to add properties to people - I ended up getting it work, but it wasn't clear how to do it when only woking with feature flags
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Feature flags is the key feature at the moment, excited to use more when we have time to embed it!

What do you dislike about the product?
For my use case I have not come across anything I disliked.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to troubleshoot issues with our app visually and also track page views which help us from a business perspective.

    Computer Software

Fast to set up, lots of tooling

  • February 25, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Was looking for analytics/session tracking software with enough depth to track key metrics but low engineering time to set up quickly. Very happy with posthog so far and how many different utilities are rolled into the software. Easy to get started and great for an early stage startup moving quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
User ids/names are extremely difficult to read in posthog, I wish there was an option for human readable user names, eg lucky orange gives users names like "mint banana."
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Gathering metrics to assess product market fit; retention is a big one. I originally installed for session capture, then discovered there were more analytics features available. Looking forward to trying surveys next.
