The missing link between your product and your users

What do you like best about the product?
Onboarding and setting up my PostHog instance was a piece of cake. Configuring my application to identify users and provide contextually relevant information to PostHog about the actions they were performing in my app went smoothly.

I really love the session replay feature. It's honestly incredible to see exactly what my users are seeing, and to get feedback within the app with the new surveys feature.

I'm confident that PostHog will 10x our customer support as well as they try and help users who run into issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's pretty hard to dislike anything about the tool, at this point.

If I have to provide critique, it seems like most of the dashboard templates and default insights are only relevant to SaaS companies, not companies building internal tooling for their employees.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Consistently, we've had internal issues bridging the gap between engineering and our end-users.

Additionally, we have not equipped our support team with the tools they need to make a maximum impact on addressing issues.

PostHog offers a solution to both. We can now see with granular detail exactly how our users are using our products, what they like and don't like about it, and track all of it over time. And, our support team has a place to go and consult when something goes unexpectedly for a user.

What do you like best about the product?
Dashboard Templates seem to be the best feature. I'd bring them up-front though, and not keep it hidden.
What do you dislike about the product?
No dislikes as such but a nicer onboarding experience would be cool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly helps us with understanding the kind of traffic we're getting + user behaviour.

Event tracking has never been this much fun

  • November 05, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The analytics platform has helped our businesses track user behavior on our SaaS.
It provides features like event tracking, user analytics, and A/B testing, which has been valuable for understanding how our users interact with our digital product and optimizing user experiences.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setting up and maintaining PostHog may require a certain level of technical expertise and resources, which could be a challenge for smaller businesses or organizations with limited technical capabilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
User Engagement Understanding: PostHog allows us to track and analyze how users interact with our application.
This helps us gain insights into user behavior, such as which features are popular, where users drop off, and what actions lead to conversions.
This understanding can lead to improved user engagement strategies and product optimization.

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to easily view sessions and easily track stack of errors.
Espacially I like your easy to use UX, the beautiful design and ease of use.
For example, I really like the Netflix style automatic "next session" when viewing sessions.
What do you dislike about the product?
A/B testing could be easier, viewing sessions idle skip doesn't always work
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking user sessions and making sure everything is working as expected, in addition detecting possible bugs in production and analyze A/B testing for new features

Session replay feature is really helpful

  • November 04, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As a Product Designer it's great being able to replay sessions and see what my users are doing. The implementation is super easy to learn, and gives me plenty of information. It didn't take a lot of time for my engineers to setup, and integrates nicely with our process.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing I've found so far. It's been really great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I need to understand what my users are doing and where they're finding my product experience difficult, as well as easily identifying potential issues.

    Marketing and Advertising

The perfect all in one tool for data mangement

  • November 04, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The sheer endless possibilities it gives me, in a very nice ui, that allows me to dig through milllions of events, to perfect our project in a privacy respecting matter.
Very easy integration and implementation. Big Kudos!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing, Google Analytics and other competitors really need to step up!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It does what no other tool can. With a simple script I can dive deep into millions of events, create funnels and find customer painpoints and perfect marketing acquisition.

What do you like best about the product?
Funnels and custom insights creation from the dashboard

So far I don't have bad feedback about it
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heavy analytics libraries take too much time to load at first while delivering a limited amount of insight.

I've been recommending you already!

What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to start with the snippet
It's easy to integrate into Django backend
It replaces what I have done previously with a hodgepodge of Google Tags/Analytics and HotJar.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not really a downside, but something I would value:

As a solo founder in a new company, I'm doing all the tech and everything else myself. PostHog has a MAD amount of features. I've really valued how they are documented, but it would be helpful to me to be guided as to where best to focus my attention based on the stage of the business. I've gone through your 'quick start' check list, but I feel this could be improved so that it covers more of the tooling (I don't think surveys or actions are in it?) and is potentially more clearly gated. I remember glacing at once piece of guidance that I know can't find where you suggested for early stage companies focussing on 2 or 3 core default insights and 'ignoring' the rest. That I thought was very helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Proving (or disproving) that registered users are actually using the service, and which features they are using.
