Solid for core analytics
What do you like best about the product?
very easy to implement and spin up dashboards. Great for websites
What do you dislike about the product?
When it comes to referring domain I'm sure how some are picked over others.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing us analytics on our documentation pages on our website. Using it for Zendesk and is way better than what they provide.
Flexible and adaptable to different use cases.
What do you like best about the product?
One of the things I really like about Posthog is its open-source nature. This means that anyone can use and contribute to the software, making it more flexible and adaptable to different use cases.
The platform also provides a user-friendly interface that makes it easy to set up and manage your analytics tracking. You can create custom events and funnels to track specific actions and user journeys, and the tool provides detailed visualizations and reports to help you make sense of your data.
In addition, Posthog has a built-in experimentation framework that allows you to test different versions of your product and measure their impact on user behavior. This can be a valuable tool for optimizing your product and improving your user experience.
Overall, I think Posthog is a great choice for companies looking to improve their product analytics and experimentation capabilities. The tool is powerful, flexible, and easy to use, and the open-source nature of the platform makes it a great choice for companies of all sizes and industries.

What do you dislike about the product?
Setting up and configuring PostHog can be a bit more involved than some other analytics tools, especially if you are not familiar with software installation and server administration.
Some users have reported issues with the performance or reliability of the platform, especially with larger data volumes or more complex analytics configurations. However, it's worth noting that these issues are not necessarily unique to PostHog and can occur with any analytics tool.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PostHog helps companies gain a deeper understanding of how their users are interacting with their products, and use that knowledge to make data-driven decisions that can improve the user experience, increase user engagement, and drive business growth.
a decent feature flag solution and automated usage analytics tracking tool with subpar UI/UX
What do you like best about the product?
pretty easy to setup. automated usage analytics is definitely the future. feature flags are solid as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
the overall user experience is not great. multiple users from our org detest using the app and find it difficult to create reports. some features just flat out don't work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
it's a solid feature flag solution for us, but we've decided to move to another platform for product analytics
We are evaluating posthog to be used as part of my team's analytics stack.
What do you like best about the product?
Love the user interface. It reminds me a lot of Amplitude because the UI is very similar and similar features are being offered, but for a small fraction of the price!
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that there was a little bit more in terms of alerting and notifications, more specifically in realtime. Unsure if that is in place or not so i may be off base her.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping us to get conversion rate data, which is not something we had before.
Excellent customer and product insight tool
What do you like best about the product?
Intuitive and easy to understand the initial setup, quick to stand up, responsive team via slack, still getting our feet wet so don't know the full power just yet
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I have found to dislike yet. The only hiccup I have run into is the ability to create a report in some places where an event has NOT OCCURRED, but have found ways around it
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Detecting dormant customers before they churn (retention) and trying to better understand how our users are using our product without needing to bug them all the time.
Software Developer
What do you like best about the product?
I really like how I can use PostHog for adding data-tracking for new features that my team builds. It allows my product manager to ascertain if the users are using our product as we initially anticipated and if there are areas we need to rework
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much to dislike about PostHog, but I don't like the inbuilt tool they use for inspecting elements in order to create actions, it often freezes my tabs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PostHog allows my team to get user data without having to go conduct a lot of research and interviews. We can easily estimate how users use our platform based on historical data.
A great experience, intuitive interface and powerful, reliable features
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite feature of PostHog is the session recording. Watching playback of real-world users is like having a UI feedback engineer at my disposal. I can see where people hesitate, choose the wrong item or get confused, and see EXACTLY what the real error message was when they send support an email, etc. The growth accounting graph is also very helpful, showing new visitors vs. returning vs. resurrecting vs. dormant. Also, despite the powerful functionality, the JS included on the site is quite small (compared to many other vendors with this type of tool).
What do you dislike about the product?
I have no issues or dislikes. A VERY minor note is that I have not been able to find an option for dark mode, which I prefer, but again this is a very minor dislike. And it may be something that is available and I just haven't found it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Posthog provides a clear, easy to use way to check activity on my site and to monitor the user experience (via session recordings, mainly). It has also proven to be a great way to measure traffic and visitor types without resorting to other, bulkier analytics brands. I have rated support as N/A only because I have not yet needed to contact support.
Analytics that Scale with any organization!
What do you like best about the product?
Post-Hog's UI is phenomenal. Reports are easy to create, recordings are simple to source and bookmark and the integration with our product was seamless. We are a small start-up, so reducing friction and ease of use is critical.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's very little that I dislike about using Post-Hog. The ease with which reports and KPIs can be created makes it so that our instance can get a little cluttered and difficult to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PostHog is helping us to determine what product features and copy resonates best with our customers. We are able to track conversion events on different pages and visualize the user journey from their eyes. Whether they are on mobile or desktop, we can put ourselves in the seat of our customers.
Great A/B Testing and Data Validation Platform
What do you like best about the product?
Love the ability to quickly set up and execute a/b tests. The recordings feature is also a great way to get user feedback quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would be great to put comments in the recordings to share when you group them into playlists
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
First and foremost the A/B testing capabilities for landing page and conversion rate optimization.
Simple setup analytics tool with advanced usages
What do you like best about the product?
Adding PostHog to your app is simple. I really like the onboarding with the event tracking live testing. Thanks to the autocapture feature you don't need to define custom events, autocaptured events are most of the time enough.
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe the application's user interface; I mean, PostHog is a complete tool with many features. I think sometimes the amount of information given to the user can be messy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time efficient setup, with hosted PostHog version, the configuration can be done under 5 min! For me, I was able to understand traffic analysis differently, mainly through the automatic linking of events and visitors.
