What do you like best about the product?
The recordings are amazing, seeing what people are doing and their thought process and journey throughout the page
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the search is a bit buggy and can make it hard to search for users
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's solving the problem of error tracking so we know the source of errors but also in redesigning our site we can see what features aren't used as much

Great analytics service

  • January 17, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how minimal the library is — it's very fast. Additionally, the analytics experience is 10x better than Google Analytics.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a little troublesome to get idempotency on events (i.e., you don't want a purchase event to fire twice when the user refreshes the page), but you can always implement this logic manually.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This completely solves my analytics problems and gives me helpful insight for my startup. I am much more productive as a result of this, and my business performance has improved.

Seamless Integration & Frictionless UX

  • January 17, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very clear documentation, getting started was a breeze. In-app pointers and guides really informative and useful. Never felt like a chore to learn. Support on Slack has also been great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the Dashboarding tools are a bit cluky (e.g. layout editing I've found quite buggy, particularly with scrolling).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For our website: Analytics of users visiting our website, usages and what they are exploring. Where can we best change content in order to improve CTA conversion. For oru app: understanding how users interact with teh UX, what features are used, etc.

PostHog to monitor a system that intermediates the contracting of loans between customers and banks.

  • January 17, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like the way of working with data, through the creation of cohorts, actions, insights, and dashboards. I also like being able to register descriptions for each of the events. Session recordings are also very useful for situations where our designers need to gain insight into application usage or when our developers need to identify some anomalous behavior. We also use experiments, which have been very useful in proving that certain implementations convert more than others.
What do you dislike about the product?
We found it difficult to deal with testing feature flags and experiments in the local environment in Ruby on Rails applications. Also, what we least like about PostHog is how slow it is when watching videos. Sometimes it becomes practically impossible to watch and I end up giving up. Also, I missed the statistical relevance of secondary metrics in the experiments.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With the creation of insights and dashboards, PostHog gives me visibility of my product. The experiments help me to be sure that what we are doing is, in fact, helping our users. Session recording and annotations are resources that do not help much with the investigation of atypical situations. Unfortunately, we don't make it a practice to record notes as often as we should, but it's a great feature.

Great overview of all I need to know about users and my product

  • January 17, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use mostly the user paths, and the insights dashboards and i appreciate the simple yet clear UX,one of the best things about it is that we can create new insights and go over the results again and again
What do you dislike about the product?
The onboarding process is not working for me, I had to ask colleagues at work to help me figure out how to use posthog properly. I think a series of toturials or a simple "tooltip click next" onboarding would have been great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us understand who is using the product, the benefit I realize is to see for example how many users go to a certain page - we keep changing our marketing site according to the posthog analasys so yes we grow in revenues thanks to you

  • January 17, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's an in-depth analytical tool that doesn't only show retrospective analysis as well as live statuses of the platform. It can also show who is currently using the platform and what actions they're doing!
What do you dislike about the product?
Feature Usage Visualization Tools can be a bit easier to use, And the list of current users for unknown users can be managed a bit better!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding how customers interact with our WebApp, what all features of our product are being used, and then based on these statistics, we can make business decisions on what to develop more towards!

A good tool in constant evolution

  • January 16, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The events and insights that can be generated using the tool, connected to existing recordings. This ease of navigation, which was a recent evolution in the interface, manages to make investigations much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
The new charging model for recording videos doesn't make much sense. The video recording tool itself has some inconsistencies. Sometimes it is very difficult to deal with data masking and many things generate uncertainty about what is happening in the application and what is not being captured in the
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Connecting everything that happens to data, both user behavior and what happens in our backend. This broad view helps us to be more assertive to evolve the product.
