Flexible analytics platform with a great community

What do you like best about the product?
* ability to self-host
* cloud hosting in the US and EU
* ability to customize via plugins
* active slack community
* responsive developers and support staff
* API enables using analytic not just for internal but also fur user facing analytics insights
What do you dislike about the product?
* not all features are fully polished
* event documentation subpar and limits ease of use for non-developers
* due to monetizing via events, more event intensive use cases pay more
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
* page analytics (including heat maps, recordings etc)
* custom analytics
* insights and dashboards on collected analytics
* ability to process events in posthog or in 3rd party systems

Nice experience once you manage to set everything up

What do you like best about the product?
Auto capture, so you can easily create insights afterwards on any event.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was pretty long until we got everything set up. Mostly we struggled with cross domain tracking, so we have the whole user journey.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's mainly helping us know users better, seeing what they do, testing new features with experiments, and helping qa reproduce bugs via session recording. It's benefiting us by knowing our product better

What do you like best about the product?
PostHog is very intuitive. It is easy to setup funnels, A/B test, screen recordings are high quality (the best compared to other tools we used). It gives valuable information about our users. Working in small startup with limited resources it is hard to find the best way how we can improve our product. PostHog is the best solution we found.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't say there is something I've noticed. The main problem we face right now is that we don't have enought time and knowledge to set up all metrics we need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Get information about users behaviour and needs. Our users rarely come to interviews or complete our surveys. Looking into analytics and screen recordings helps us a lot.

What do you like best about the product?
Dashboards creation is super quick.
I can also make more of them in a seconds and adjust for my purposes.
In-app posthog bar is very helpful and helps to create a range of UX pathes, then compare them.
What do you dislike about the product?
In-app bar doesn't work sometime and I can not figure out why that happens.
Personally, I didn't figure out how to turn off some of the events in auto scrapper and at least rename some events to understand which of "ok" buttons were pressed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Rapidly creating web analysis and dashboards.
Play with metrics and adding custome ones based on the regular metrics like DAU MAU and etc.
It is open source and we can ignore sanctions against Russia.

Posthog is great for analytics

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Posthog provides you with many existing events that hook into your product to get you up and running quickly. The webhook feature of Posthog is also extremely useful to allow for capturing your events and exporting them to other databases where they can be manipulated and stored.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the lack of a central dashboard to view all events. I also dislike that there are no charts that show you the usage of your events, but these can easily be built using patterns.app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Posthog solves the problem of setting up your product analytics platform. Additionally, it allows you to host your historical analytics in the cloud instead of recording this information yourself.

Easy, straightforward product analytics

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to set up and to tag. Had in running in half a day, and gained insights by the end of the day. Really great blog and documentation as well. Puts you on the right path right from the get go.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, I'm pretty happy. Haven't dived into this to point out downsides, though I'm sure there are.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I finally have a view of customer behaviour statistics. But not only that, as PostHog also records screen constantly, it is really easy to see individual behaviours and also solve specific customer problems.

PostHog had a low barrier to entry but high returns

What do you like best about the product?
One of the best things about PostHog is how easy it was to install and get started. All I needed need to do is add a few lines of code to our web app. Once I realised that PostHog cloud did not meet our needs I was happy to find there was a self hosted option.
What do you dislike about the product?
The self-hosted version can be a bit tricky to set up on Amazon Lightsail and I have been unable to get session recordings fully functioning due to a reverse proxy mis-configuration. This is more on the LightSail side though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allowing more granular user segmentation based on behaviour
Highlighting drop-off at certain points of the product
Providing insight into customer support requests

What do you like best about the product?
Great dashboards and very useful recordings.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing special, maybe the only thing I'm missing is the default attribution for referrers without UTM parameters.
