It's a powerful sales tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that outreach makes it easy to schedule follow-up activity for sales team members. Sequencing helps keep our team on track and helps keep our company top of mind as we can serve relevant content to prospects without the rep having to manually send it. The ability to use personalization in messages, and add your own custom variables is also very useful in making messages relevant to the audience.
The fact that it works with our salesforce instance and you can import contacts directly from salesforce is pretty great as well. Makes things much easier.

What do you dislike about the product?
When we have turnover in our team, it's not very easy to change contacts who are active in sequence to their new owner. It IS possible to change who the emails are coming from, and to change the owner, but it isn't particularly easy to reassign if the rep who takes over the vacant territory doesn't take the whole territory. For example, if "Salesperson A" leaves who had Oregon, Idaho, and Utah in their territory, and we give Utah to "Salesperson B" and Idaho and Oregon to "Salesperson C," it gets pretty tricky. If there were some "territory change" batching operations that would be great!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's difficult for reps to stay on top of every single account and consistently touch every single lead with relevant messaging. Or they might have a contact they have good conversations with, and take them out of an automated sequence, but then forget to schedule a follow-up task for themselves. With outreach, that's easy, and they can do pretty much their whole job in terms of prospecting within outreach. So in that regard it's a great tool. It makes it very easy to stay on task and stay top of mind with your prospects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need to send html email, this isn't your tool. This is very good for messaging sent "From" your sales team to prospects. It's not a marketing tool. I would recommend having a 3rd party set up all of the connections to salesforce and getting some ongoing support for the first while you use outreach. It's very handy to be able to reach out to a 3rd party by phone and get support.
Outreach is ok
What do you like best about the product?
Integrates well into SFDC and other tools.
Good tracking of activities and showing what each rep is working
Intuitive design for reps to quickly get up to speed on how to use it.
Automates follow up of emails & calls gives reps straightforward to do list for activities.
Great onboarding team.

What do you dislike about the product?
Lacks robust editing & formatting features for email: adding images & doing simple tasks like indenting bullet points is difficult to complete.
Lacks a manager view: When leadership logs in, we see the same screens as users, asking me to start my tasks for the day even know I do not use the system as a rep, much rather have a manager view that shows sequences, rep activities, org level performance.
Lacks customizable reporting: forced to use outreach tools to monitor rep, call and email performance, no tools for exporting data to external sources for analysis.
Has little usage of AI:
--- leadership has to bucket tasks as "high" "urgent" "normal" or "low" to change their priority (should be able to use logic & prospect grade + activity to do this).
--- Outreach should be able to identify the right time to call a prospect & have better tools to identify other trends in the data.
--- Lacks robust tools for analyzing calls (we use chorus for this)
Lacks text to prospect feature. Many prospects during covid have switched to cell phones, but we cannot use the system to text them or set up texts steps in sequences.
Support is lacking: support tickets (even urgent ones) are followed up next day by email asking for more details. I have had to reach out to sr. outreach people directly to get more urgent responses. If you buy outreach do not let your onboarding rep leave until it works 100%.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Outreach is a good tool for scripting activities and managing reps on a workflow. Outreach is relatively easy to use and integrates into other systems. If you are looking for advanced email editing or advanced features such as AI/automation or texting make sure they are part of your evaluation.
Best tool for our BDR team
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to sequnce quickly and easily and analytics of call insights (best time of day)
What do you dislike about the product?
There is still some manual duplication in SF
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organizing BDR outreach cadences. Ensuring leads aren't being missed and time management.
Email Automation Simplified
What do you like best about the product?
Very intuitive, quick to set up, and does what you want. Reduces the amount of time reps spend on email and task creation by at least 10x, nothing else comes close.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reporting is not up to par with other solutions. They could use a better reporting suite to make it easier to gain insights and track progress.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the problem of rep throughput and data hygiene. Outreach handles all task logging which puts time back in our reps' days and ensures we pass the data we want to see to our activity log.
Outreach is a GAME-CHANGER!
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to create emails effortlessly
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside is that you're not able to send SMS messages yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had a major problem sending emails one by one. Communicating with prospects in this manner was very time-consuming!
Overall Outreach has really helped our SDR team handle all incoming leads from various sources
What do you like best about the product?
The way it takes the thinking out of the SDRs day about who to reach out to next and all the analytics it provides.
What do you dislike about the product?
The lag between getting from salesforce into outreach as well as the texting capability. It would be cool if there was an app
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enabled us to reach out to 1000s of MQLs from all different sources with customized messaging and touch patterns
2nd time using Outreach, they're the best in the biz
What do you like best about the product?
They know what their strengths are (a true sales engagement platform helps automate and organize a sales professional's workflow) and they stick to that (they don't mess around with other bells and whistles that take them away from their main things) - and that's why they're the best at what they do. The user interface is pretty easy to use and intuitive, and they always seem to be innovating.
Another thing I can appreciate about Outreach is the fact that they have thought leaders and subject matter experts that are always sharing knowledge for free. It's super helpful and really sets them apart as leaders in the space.

What do you dislike about the product?
Really the one gripe that I've always had with Outreach (this is the second organization I've used them with) is pretty nit-picky: when building out or editing sequences, you can't drag and drop steps in a sequence. For example, if you built a sequence and realize that you want to add an extra email in the middle of it after using it a few times, you can't just add that step in there. You have to create the step as if it was at the end of the sequence, then manually bump it up one step at a time. It's a tiny little thing, but it is a clunky process.
Oh also: not sure why but you can't add variables directly into a subject line when building out an email template- if you want to do that then you have add it in the body of the message and then copy and paste it into the subject line.
Other than those two small things, it's hard to find anything to mention here.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Outreach allows us to not just automate and organize our day-to-day workflow as a business development team, but it also creates a central database for all of our sales engagement processes and copy. It makes knowledge sharing easy, and it backs it up with data and analytics. We love that we're able to test out different variables in an automated fashion and see what the rest of the team is doing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When we were evaluating Outreach, the only other platform that we found comparable was Salesloft. Salesloft was good (very similar), but ultimately what sold us on Outreach was the fact that they are solely dedicated to being a sales engagement platform, and they seemed to be the best in class at it. Salesloft had a few other cool features that made it tempting (including a new call recording functionality), but that wasn't quite what we were going for. So I would take a look at them as well, but whatever you don't try to use Salesforce in place of something like Outreach (Salesforce = CRM/sales database, Outreach = Sales Engagement Platform).
