Exploring the World of Video with Vimeo: My Personal Journey
What do you like best about the product?
What I love most about Vimeo is the high-quality video streaming and the overall user experience. The platform is so easy to use, and it's great to have control over the privacy settings for my videos. The ability to customize the video player and embed it on my website has also been very useful. Additionally, I appreciate how Vimeo supports a community of creators and provides resources for learning and improving my video production skills. Overall, Vimeo has been a great platform for showcasing my work and connecting with others who share my passion for video production.
What do you dislike about the product?
While I do appreciate the quality and user experience of Vimeo, there are a few things that I dislike about the platform. One of the biggest issues for me is the cost of the subscription plans, which can be quite expensive compared to other video hosting services. Another thing that bothers me is the limited analytics available on the basic plan. I would like to have more detailed data on my video's performance without having to upgrade to a higher tier. However, despite these drawbacks, I still find Vimeo to be a valuable tool for my video production needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vimeo works for me as a portfolio page, where I can showcase various works and present them to my clients. It is an essential platform for any professional in the field.
A great way to host client videos, with a stellar UI.
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the option to deliver the original PRORES file to our clients, should they need it. I also love how smooth it is to upload our content.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish "send file" and "share" were on the same page. It gets confusing when delivering the final product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to host the videos we produce for our clients. We also have conducted live streaming through Vimeo as well. It makes providing dileverables much easier.
User since 2008
What do you like best about the product?
I have been a client of Livestream/Vimeo since 2008. After 100's live streams the service has not failed me once. Even when New York was hit by the hurricane and massive power failures in the city they were able to get the backup system up and running in time for an important conference for all Hyundai Canada dealers. Most of my live streams have 50 to 2000 viewers. But in 2015 I live streamed a Conference for UCC with Edward Snowden from Russia and Glenn Greenwald in Brazil. I won't go into the logistics here on how we accomplished that due to the fact that we couldn't have a traceable stream to reveal Snowden's exact location. What we didn't know was how many viewers we might get. Without a glitch Livestream scaled to over 15,000 viewers that evening. My point is there is a lot of free streaming with Facebook, Youtube etc. which have no guarantee it will work. Clients that request those services I still use Vimeo to feed them and know it will work. Studio 6, best streaming software ever created (I bought a copy) but I miss Producer, the majority of streams are simple and that was ideal to run on all systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cloud services we don't use and have no use for online editing. Really haven't explored Vimeo fully to comment but I do know their live streaming services are rock solid.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Like that they are continuing to update and support Studio 6.
Our Vimeo experience
What do you like best about the product?
We used Vimeo for 2 years during the pandemic, first for recorded classes and then latterly for live streaming. The quality is excellent, as is the storage and ease of use. We particularly liked that it is a clean interface for the user as there are no adverts before or after and so the attention of the viewer is not directed away after they have watched our content. This was particularly important to us as we are offering people meditation classes and wanted it to be a peaceful, non-distracting experience.
It was helpful to be able to schedule live streams with unique links to send to people and to change the visibility of the links as needed. Eg to make private after a week.
The one downside was the price, so as our needs changed, and we streamed less we could no longer justify the cost as a charity and now meet all our streaming needs with zoom. If it wasn't for that we would have loved to continue with vimeo.

What do you dislike about the product?
That they did not offer charity discounts and that the price is so high for livestreaming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helped us solve the problem of being locked down and unable to have physical in person classes and enabled us to reach a wide geographic area in the North of Scotland.
Great Video Platform
What do you like best about the product?
There are a lot of great tools, but I really like the way I can change a video and keep the embedded link the same. I also like the collaboration features. It is nice to be able to review videos without having to download and make notes.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you do not have a strong internet connection, Vimeo will not work properly. I have found that a wired connection is best since wifi can drop and won't be as consistent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem that we are using Vimeo to solve is to be able to organize video content, collaborate with a team, and share high-quality videos. We also use this to host videos that we embed on other sites.
Review
What do you like best about the product?
Streaming live events, updating and chaptering videos + using analytics (when it works...)
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't use the web-based production tool beacause I don't find it very user friendly + the layouts do not match my needs + I don't trust videos' live analytics
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
High quality and privatlely live streaming. I am organizing art workshop and I need high quality live streaming that people pay for only on my website.
Vimeo webinars are a game changer
What do you like best about the product?
The platform makes it easy to create high-value, live webinars in real-time.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great to get a customer success rep for the license we have.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted to increase the production value of our regular live meet-ups and vimeo allows us to create an incredible live experience with tons of design diversity.
A Reliable Platform
What do you like best about the product?
The customer service is particularly good and any time I have contacted them with a question or query, they are always very quick to respond, friendly and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some customisation limitations if you're using the profile page to display your videos. Newly uploaded videos do not automatically appear at the top of your page, and so you have to manually drag every new upload that you want to feature to the top of the page. This is quite time consuming and a bit frustrating, but it's a very small issue in the grand scheme of things, which I'm sure their developers are working on addressing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vimeo allows us to easily collaborate with clients when creating video content for them. They can view videos through private links, leave time-stamped feedback/notes, and download the file directly from Vimeo when we get to the final version. Very handy in this scenario as it's a one-stop shop.
Vimeo is also our go-to platform for live streaming events and hosting webinars. Our audio visual team just need a stream key and then can plug directly into the platform. We are also able to watch live stats and monitor the comments directly from the Vimeo backend which is great.

Great platform
What do you like best about the product?
Vimeo is a great platform for saving and sharing videos. Love it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of anything that I dislike about vimeo.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's a great place to keep all my work videos of the wedding ceremonies that I record.
Did what I needed, mostly works well
What do you like best about the product?
Really easy to use and share and embed your videos. I use Vimeo for my websites and it does its job pretty well. Some things are a little bit complicated to set up.
What do you dislike about the product?
Embeb from time to time can be tricky and is not compatible with everything (had some problem with it). Also if user wants, it is really not that hard to download your videos even if you don't want to. Important to keep that in mind for payed content.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I needed a simple way to embed videos to my web page. Had some issues with YouTube (not playing in loop, showing text and another videos). Vimeo solved mostly all of them.
