Vimeo - High quality video streaming application

  • October 20, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Vimeo is widely used for live-streaming video and also online video playing application like You-tube. We are using Vimeo at our company for surfing video on our client's websites so that customers of that websites can play and watch video through vimeo very effectively and smoothly. Overall Vimeo is very clean with minimal controls and efficient video player. It helps developers like us a lot by creating a effective HTML tag by using this tag in website code we can directly give link to that video. Vimeo account creation is also very easy and within 1-2 minutes you're able to create account.
What do you dislike about the product?
Despite the limitation of size of video that we upload on vimeo server, I just love the vimeo.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At our company, we are using vimeo for our clients and we suggest them to upload their video content on vimeo server. If vimeo was not available then we always need to buy server and then process that server and make it capable of handling and playing video at customer's need and this could be so hectic and highly expensive to handle.

Vimeo is a Good Alternative to YouTube for Businesses

  • October 11, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to upload multiple videos at once, create categories for your videos, change permission sets, and to share/embed video elsewhere.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not as searched as YouTube so it doesn't necessarily help with our profile.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a place to house video for our business and make them easily accessible through multiple means.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Vimeo is a great alternative to YouTube because of its permission sets and ease of use to embed.

What do you like best about the product?
Video is one of the best places to share or view videos. It is one of the most famous tube site on the internet. It can be used free and also there is also have separate free membership plans as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
In Vimeo, there is upload storage limit for paid memberships as well maximum storage size for paid membership is 7Tb, so this space is not enough for large businesses if they can remove this limit it will be an excellent opportunity for users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Vimeo to publish our organisation's video content on the internet.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
One of the famous tube site on the internet is a great marketing tool for organisations. I recommend this for anyone to publish video content.

This is probably my favorite video website for viewing and hosting web video

  • September 19, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The amount of disk space is relatively high considering the playback quality. Vimeo doesn't mess up the quality of the video in a noticeable way, which is something many other video hosting websites do after you upload videos. The videos can get pixelated and hard to watch. Vimeo gives us the option to make our videos downloadable, which can be convenient when viewers want to watch our videos offline. I makes it more likely that people will watch our videos.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since there are several web hosting companies that don't have uploading limits for their accounts, a con of using Vimeo is that there are limits at all. I don't feel like there are many promotional features that can help to get our videos noticed by more people in or outside of the Vimeo website. The recommended videos features can be annoying to some viewers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vimeo has been one of the more dependable and higher quality video hosting websites I've used. I can use it to post videos for our website. We often present sales analysis and service background videos on Vimeo that leads can watch either during live remote presentations or on their own time. Overall, Vimeo has been easy for us to work with and lets us focus less on the technical aspects of managing web video.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For those that want to give their website visitors a smooth web video viewing experience, Vimeo can be a good fit. You can also save server space and bandwidth in your hosting account by transferring that usage to Vimeo.

Powerful tool to upload videos without ads.

  • September 10, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Vimeo is a powerful platform to upload videos without ads, vimeo allows me to generate an HTML tag of each video and upload it to my website, the player looks clean, modern and totally professional, I love it. The best thing about this platform is that it is ad-free, I can use them on my company's website without causing inconvenience to customers.

This software is easy to use, I can create an account in 5 minutes and start uploading videos, the interface is great, everything works fine.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the limits of Vimeo, currently this software limits me weekly to only upload 20GB in videos every week, this is sometimes annoying, because I need to upload more content and I can't, I think they should increase the limits.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vimeo has allowed us to improve the quality of our company's content, because most of the promotional videos we create are displayed on our website, our customers see it and buy our products, Vimeo has made us use their player Videos integrated into our website, looks amazing and we also avoid inconvenience of our customers caused by video ads.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend choosing the plans that suit the needs of your company, this software offers great features but has limitations, if your company needs to upload a lot of weekly content, you must choose the plan that has no limits, because it really is annoying to want to upload content and that you can't exceed the limits.

Quantity over quality!

  • September 03, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Nothing. The service is beyond terrible
What do you dislike about the product?
Vimeo compressed my 4K videos until it became blurry blocky and pixelated in order to save storage fee money! They pulled a bait and switch. The 4K quality at Vimeo is worse than YouTubes quality and YouTube is free. Vimeo doesn’t answer support questions and when they do it’s a copy paste response from a robot! Vimeo new Motto is quantity over quality now. Vimeo has gotten greedy and they’re compressing video until they distort now.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Nothing. I realize they care about money more than quality and they do not have support. They have robots sending out automated responses
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use YouTube cause it’s free. Vimeo got greedy and started ripping customers off to make an extra buck. They keep compressing videos more and more to save on money on storage fees as of 2019. All they care about is ripping customers off now. They don’t care about quality anymore, they just wanna get richer at the expense of novice videographers.

We can post high quality videos that stay high quality on Vimeo

  • September 01, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The resolution is not diminished much, if at all, when we upload videos to our Vimeo account. It was very easy to sign up with Vimeo and the cost for the premium service that allows us to upload a higher amount of videos, was a decent price. We can manage our videos with tools in Vimeo that let us add descriptions, mass deletions and other helpful actions. Vimeo is a community of high level creators, in my view, so I like that our videos are a part of that community.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think Vimeo doesn't have too many flaws as far as the quality of the software and account interface are concerned. I think the price is higher than some other video websites though. So at some point, if we're on a tight budget, we may end up considering moving to a different video website. That wouldn't really be an issue at a no-cost video website.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to embed our Vimeo videos in web pages and also post them to social media in an almost seamless fashion. The videos we post to Vimeo can also make our videos easier to access for private business presentations. We can avoid having to store, share and access videos from different locations. As long as we have the links to each Vimeo video, it's easy to access to the videos at any time from any computer.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are only a few video websites that I'm aware of that are commonly used by companies to embedding videos and Vimeo is one of them. I think there aren't many websites with the high profile and longevity that Vimeo has that can host videos at such a high quality. So I think it's a good option for general video uploads.

Doesn't add commercials!

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
When you're creating videos that are marketing related as I sometimes have to do for clients, you can't just put it up on Youtube. It's unprofessional and has ads playing before they even watch the video (which will make a bunch of people leave). Vimeo provides a solution to this that works for me because you can embed their videos on a site without ads.
What do you dislike about the product?
Vimeo needs to work on their user interface ASAP. It's boring, you can't customize it well and there are many irrelevant features that just don't need to be there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm able to embed professional videos on client's sites without ads.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a great tool and is priced affordably. I would suggest using it for professional videos that you don't want ads on.

Vimeo is a pretty clean and modern video website that's good for professional or artistic use

  • August 21, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The general feel of Vimeo has a more professional vibe than other top tier videos sites, which is something I really like. Using Vimeo for uploading videos is pretty easy. It's not that much different than most other video websites out there today. When I upload videos, the loading times are usually not that long relative to the size of the video files I upload. I think that we get a reasonable amount of space for basic usage.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unlike many other video websites out there, I dislike that Vimeo has a file storage limit. As I mentioned before, it's a pretty decent limit, but the fact that there is a limit at all has to be considered a thing to dislike about Vimeo. I think if you are looking for a video website for people to find your content, Vimeo is probably not one of the better websites since there aren't as many general users as other video websites like YouTube.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can use Vimeo to post videos for lots of different reasons in our business. We mainly use them for online marketing type of videos that we can embed in web pages. The video quality is usually very clear which helps to make our videos more outstanding. We can also allow people to share our videos more easily with the built-in sharing and embedding tools that Vimeo provides.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think Vimeo is a good video website that many people and companies use for good reason. It's maybe not the most widely used, but the quality of the video and audio is very outstanding. Vimeo is worth taking a look at if you need to upload videos online.
