Making My Work Easy!

  • April 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love having everything in one organized place. I can go back to each submission, never having to worry about missing a portion of their submitted project or proposal. The ability to make questions mandatory has made it so that our submissions are 100% complete. That eliminates manually contacting applicants regarding missing information. Before Submittable i accepted submissions via email. Inevitably someone would get lost in the shuffle, not anymore. We just utilized the Gallery View for the first time and I think this is a game changer for our graduate student poster contest. The gallery was so well received that we are planning to utilize this feature each semester. My sales team through the years has been terrific. Ashley Widtfeldt was instrumental in helping us get our gallery off the ground during a very stressful time for the university and our students. We love this product and the company support.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to search by "additional forms" and I'd like a red color to show when they have submitted an additional form. The current color is too close to the original to really differentiate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
organization
ability to enforce submission dates
no proposal or poster "misplaced"
flexibility with file types for specific submission requirements
the Gallery View gave our institute the visibility of the entire university, more than a face to face event could accomplish

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Submittable is easy to use and has good customer service. The product team is very responsive to their customers' needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
It could have higher functionality for emailing and forms, but they are currently building those add-ons.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Makes it much easier to communicate and track applicants, as well as collect data

We have found submittable to be a reliable and easily accessible platform for our applicants.

What do you like best about the product?
We like the simplicity of interface on both the back and front end.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Printing applications (the actual application created on submittable) is clunky and needs to be improved. We regularly need to create a paper record (or at least a pdf) of the application form we create for our records and funders.

2. Lack of a Presentation mode for showing applications to jurors (i.e slideshow that goes through all applicants).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Less paperwork, less admin time. earlier access to submissions for review panels, jurors, admins, etc.

Ability to have multiple levels of access
What do you dislike about the product?
Costly and for a small organization it may not be affordable
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Access issues especially if people change email passwords for their staff

Good idea, but not as helpful as I’d hoped

  • April 21, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It’s nice to have the reviews in one place and to be able to create templates.
What do you dislike about the product?
I still had to do so much manually, especially correspondence. Creating exports for download wasn’t as seamless of a user experience as I would have liked, and I came to the conclusion after organizing a conference of about 250 that I would have been better off not spending the money on Submittable and just using Google Forms and Sheets instead.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We hoped to streamline the review management process, and we did to an extent.

Great product, navigation is often slow.

What do you like best about the product?
It's functionality - having everything on a student in one click.
What do you dislike about the product?
How unbearably slow navigating can be from one page to the other.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sending emails through submittable is very valuable to me.

Great service, reliable platform

What do you like best about the product?
Submittable makes application review easy for our volunteer reviewers, and they span all ages and comfortability with technology.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish review scores would auto-add as the reviewer selected her/his rating. Our process requires an overall rating and they have to tally as they go.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been able to streamline the review process for our summer leadership program from using two or more platforms to just Submittable.

lots of interesting features

  • April 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how there's a lot of nice useful features in Submittables such as assigning a reviewer, making scoring easier, and seeing stats on the number of applications received through time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wanted to see more stats -- summary of the number of applicants who answered "x" on a specific question.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quick scoring system. Submittables solve the difficulty with manually scoring applications or using a different platform for scoring and a different one for collecting responses.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend Submittable for program officers who are recruiting interns/scholars/fellows. Our office also used Submittable for reviewing applications for presenting in conferences.

Great system!

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Submittable was not only the most affordable of the platforms we were considering, but it was by far the most user friendly. Additionally, the folks we worked with were knowledgeable about our field, which made the design of our forms easier. The staff was also very helpful in helping us make some last minute adjustments before we went live.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is difficult to design a platform that is everything to everybody. With that in mind, there were a few features that were specific to our organization that would have been helpful. Some of those things are coming out in a later version. With the other things, the submittable staff helped us create workarounds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Submittable replaced an archaic application system that saddled us down with a lot of paperwork. We have streamlined our application and selection process tremendously. Saving time and reducing the stress around our process has been the most valuable part of this experience.

Submittable is FANTASTIC!

  • April 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is user friendly and so efficient for our needs! We have moved all of our submissions to the Submittable platform, including our class forms and grants submissions. Also, our account representative and everyone we have talked to that works there have all been great. They are so accommodating and efficient and lovely to work with. They are also so responsive to new ideas and ways to improve.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few other features that would help us, and being able to implement those quickly would make our lives easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has made our work flow so much more fluid!
