What do you like best about the product?

I really enjoy Smartling because it is simple to use and quite intuitive. I use it on a daily basis for my translation work. The ability to access my clients' global glossary and translate according to their preference is a huge help. I also appreciate the MTPE translation feature, although my role now involves reviewing to ensure accuracy. The issue reporting service is great, as it allows me to send questions directly to clients for clarification, which is valuable for understanding the source language better. Smartling's support is helpful in guiding me to use the tool more efficiently, and the feature to claim jobs only when I have the time to work on them is practical. The initial setup was very easy, and while it took a few months to become fully familiar, using the tool is straightforward.

What do you dislike about the product?

I find that the MPTE translation should be able to adapt the glossary terms to the context, but sometimes it does not translate properly. I believe glossary integration could be improved, especially in the world of AI. I think forcing users to provide context when inputting the source language could help translators like me.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Smartling helps me access client glossaries and translate accurately. It simplifies issue reporting, allowing clarification from clients. I enjoy its intuitive interface and ability to claim manageable jobs. The support enhances my tool usage, and I serve as a reviewer to ensure proper translations.

What do you like best about the product?

What I like best about Smartling is having the translation memory, glossary, context, and quality checks available in the same workspace. These features help me maintain consistency across a large volume of short strings and identify terminology or formatting issues before submitting my work.

What do you dislike about the product?

Some automated quality checks can be repetitive or flag issues that are not actually errors, especially when the translation intentionally differs from a glossary entry because of grammar or context. Reviewing and dismissing these warnings can slow down the workflow, specially in large projects. More context-aware QA checks would make the process more efficient.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Smartling helps manage large volumes of localized content in a centralized workflow. As a linguist, I can access assigned content, translation memory, terminology, visual context, and quality checks without switching between multiple tools. This helps me translate more efficiently, maintain consistency across related strings, and reduce avoidable errors.

What do you like best about the product?

It’s very user friendly and everything you need is at your fingertips and I love being able to work on my iPad.

What do you dislike about the product?

Here are some of my observations when working on an iPad:
1. You need to double click to use the “save page” and “submit” buttons twice to be able to use them
2. Going from page to page is difficult
3. I have noticed that with some multi-page jobs, if you use the “save page” option, not all segments are saved
4. I would like to be able to choose several files to work on at the same time rather then having to open them one at a time (batch open files)

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is great with reliability and it’s very helpful that once you validate a segment, there is no need to worry about losing your work when you have to close up and continue the next day.

What do you like best about the product?

You can search by “exact match” as well as other fields tailored to the project parameters. The history feature also makes it easy to track which step went wrong, which helps provide more accurate feedback on the workflow.

What do you dislike about the product?

The “view instruction” option often truncates text, and searching by file only returns 50 files to choose from.

It helps centralize localization from vendors and reduces manual error logging.

I like the speed of translation and the newer chat feature (The ai bot I think, very helpful)

What do you dislike about the product?

The platform is not user-friendly; you have to learn so much about the translation processes to be able to feel confident using it.

Smartling helps us translate many languages quickly, so we can get content out to our teams on deadline, and in the languages they need.

Interface is relatively straight forward and the response times are good. Quality of translations are generally good but sometimes the tone can be a little off.

The tone of the translations can sometimes be close but not exactly reflective of the message.

Smartling helps us translate and localize all aspects of our platform.

What do you like best about the product?

Easy to navigate and understand functions within the program. Usuful in compiling massive translation assets and efficiently tackle your tasts with specific vocabulary assistant and error handling.

What do you dislike about the product?

Gramatical order of certain languages such as Japanese is differenet from that of English. This makes the line-by-line translation ineffective along with the error percentage as well as future suggestion of the similar sentence for reference.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Helping all translators to use one platform in following translation guidance and specific vocabulray list without referencing other documents or apps which is a benefit in great time saving overall.

What do you like best about the product?

I use Smartling as our main platform for translations, and I really enjoy the automation it provides to reduce the time for translation delivery. The all-in-one platform is easily managed, which is a big plus for our company. I also appreciate the progressing quality of the translations. It's fantastic that Smartling enables us to translate marketing assets into 49 global languages, significantly saving us time in the translation turnaround process. Another thing I really like is the support system – our Customer Success manager is always around to help answer any questions, and the support team is amazing. Additionally, the setup process was overall very quick and easy, despite the size of our company.

The current formats that we can upload to translate are a bit limited. We need to separate our brands by tone of voice, specific terminology, etc., to make translations clearer, requiring quite some background work to set up before it'll work flawlessly in Smartling.

We use Smartling to translate marketing assets into 49 global languages. It saves significant time with machine translation, automates local review processes, and lets teams amend translations on original assets with minimal manual effort.

What do you like best about the product?

I like the integrations Smartling has with GitHub and the flows they integrate into our processes. It's the best part because it allows us to seamlessly integrate our software flows with Smartling, saving time that would otherwise be spent on custom software and manual jobs. A GitHub pull request is automatically created, and the Smartling API supports that process.

What do you dislike about the product?

The dashboard and the smartling jobs and configurations can get a little bit tedious and could be simplified. The documentation can be a little bit better.

Smartling makes translations easy. User-facing text in our apps is seamlessly translated and integrated into workflows. With the GitHub integration, it automates tasks that would otherwise require manual input, saving time and effort.

The initial setup and configuration of advanced workflows can be overwhelming. I found it quite difficult.
