Great app with a few downsides

  • August 11, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Float is very flexible, we are a small team of freelancers and we don't use it as a normal company but it's still possible to make it work to our interests
What do you dislike about the product?
It's still not flexible enough for freelancers and there's the need of finding a few caveats like creating projects for single works and changing the names of them for each situation or the fact that calendar integration doesn't keep the old events visible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have 5 freelance people and we need to know when they are available to schedule them on projects

Simple yet very powerful

What do you like best about the product?
How intuitive and easy it is to manage all resource allocation to projects. We have been using Float to manage the allocation of all company resources assigned to projects, and it greatly helps us to know at all times what each of them is working on. The ease of use of the filters, the calendar visualization, the shortcuts to perform actions, all of this greatly facilitates the allocations.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a feature that could be improved; if the partial allocation of a resource's availability could be configured by periods, it would be great. There are times when resources request a reduction in working hours but only for a certain period of time. Right now, we can't do that. It's not something critical either.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The visibility of resource allocation and their availability/occupation.

What do you like best about the product?
Float is a highly user-friendly tool that streamlines project management. It effectively provides comprehensive reporting data for both employees and projects, making it easier to oversee and improve overall performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
You need to reactivate the archived employee so their logs are included in the current report.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The real-time comprehensive reports that Float delivers to the business make it a lot easier for us to track the progress of our team members and projects.

What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of anything I dislike, I use float on the regular and it's great.

It makes tracking everyones time a lot easier.

Amazing

What do you like best about the product?
The Schedule screen is intuitive and easy to use, making it simple to adjust and manage scheduling.
I use it daily to stay on top of my tasks and to see what my colleagues are working on.

Support is excellent—whenever I report a bug, it gets resolved quickly.

The API is clear, well-documented, and made integration straightforward.
It was especially helpful when we used it to import our master data during implementation.
What do you dislike about the product?
For some custom integrations, having Webhooks would be a great addition and make real-time syncing even more powerful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Resource Planning and Project Management are essential for us, as we manage a high volume of projects.
Most of the time, each consultant is assigned to 1–4 different projects per week.

Being able to quickly see who is available for new projects is incredibly valuable.
The ability to identify opportunities to reallocate projects to other team members also helps us stay flexible and optimize our resources.

Float is a super useful tool for project management and time tracking across the board

  • August 05, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to divvy up time and reflect dedicated project time in people's calendars to better represent what their day looks like. I find myself checking Float often to see who has space to help me if I have too much on my plate, and vice versa.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not sure what the pricing structure is like at Float, but I've used alternate applications that were much cheaper that do similar work, plus unlike Asana it doesn't seem like there's a lot of user control if you aren't a manager applying time to someone's schedule. It feels like something that could integrate really well into other apps, like Asana, or the other way around Float has their own task tracking, that could be part of the overall time marker for project completion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time tracking big time. Other apps like float or google calendar often feel like there's too much going on to actually allocate time to people's schedules, without being able to see or know when folks are "in the red."

New User of Float for Team Schedulinjg

  • August 05, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Float is a great way to see the expected time allocation of our team for each of the projects. As a project manager I am able to see how much each consultant is expected to contribute to each project as well as any time off.
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe not a specific float problem, but somethings are tied to other systems currently in use. For example the specific projects for the team have to currently be hand entered into Float. There is integration work being done to make this better but for now we do have some duplication of effort with other systems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had a problem of allocating our resources in an easy to see and share way. Float allows each user to essentially publish their expected work effort against each project in the 2-4 week window to assist with availability and planning of the team against required project work.

Useful and easy to use

What do you like best about the product?
Float is really helpful in maintaining my work projects in line. I can schedule the time that I will be spending on each project and also allocating time according to the days and time needed on each of the projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be good to be able to personalize the tool a little more. Usually colors help to identify different aspects of the projects. If we could have that option, it would be great!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can make sure that I plan ahead and don`t overlap projects.

Essential tool for managing resources across all our projects

  • August 04, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Float has become an indispensable part of our daily workflow. We use it in all our projects to plan and allocate resources efficiently across the entire team. It’s extremely user-friendly, visually clear, and helps us avoid overbooking or scheduling conflicts. The drag-and-drop interface makes updates quick, and the ability to forecast availability has significantly improved our planning accuracy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although Float is a great platform overall, it would be even better if it offered more advanced reporting features and analytics dashboards natively, without needing third-party integrations. Also, it sometimes takes a bit longer to load when managing multiple teams or large-scale project portfolios.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Float helps us gain full visibility over team capacity and resource allocation across all our projects. It solves key issues like overbooking, unclear workloads, and scheduling conflicts. By using Float, we’ve streamlined our planning process, improved collaboration between departments, and can now forecast future resource needs with confidence. It’s made our operations more efficient and our project delivery more predictable.
