Float is easy to use, adaptable, and visual for managers and users
What do you like best about the product?
Visual resource planning. Easy to make updates and changes to the system. Very adapatable for different project types and team working styles. Visual reporting is easy to digest. It's super intuitive and easy to use for users. The customer support has been awesome - Zoe is amazing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Inability to easily upload historical data from our previous system. The reporting capability is strong but to do more robust analysis, an excel download is necessary.

A Clean Look, Responsive Team, and Welcoming Community
What do you like best about the product?
We've had Float for almost a year and we've really taken advantage of all that it has to offer. From the initial intro call, they've been incredibly friendly and informative of how our company could best use Float. The actual onboarding process was the most smooth I've experienced when working with a new vendor. The UI is clean, yet tells you the whole story you need and if our team ever ran into a bug, their customer support team were ready to assist as needed. I also appreciate their Community Slack channel of new and seasoned users discussing potential problems and solutions. Because the program is easy to use, our team is always logged in and updating their projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the only con I have is their Reports view. There is definitely a learning curve to fully take advantage of the Report section and it may not give you everything you're looking for (even when exporting). As Float continues to evolve and grow, I do hope they expand more within that view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Float software has allowed us to fully trust the logged information and actual revenue from projects. It has also provided a user friendly space for team members to log their own time and Project Managers to monitor overall spending.
Float Review
What do you like best about the product?
Its easy to scheudle our team. They use float to help know what tasks they are doing for the day.
What do you dislike about the product?
Creating an account can have its issues. The support has been helpful when i get stuck.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They are solving our team scheudling from the office and field.
Easy and clear people allocation management
What do you like best about the product?
We originally used Excel spreadsheets for maintaining people-project allocations, perhaps similarly to other businesses. A specialised tool offers many benefits, such as notifications, different access levels based on the role, auditing and history, and much better data quality. We have integrated the data with our timesheeting in ServiceNow, and this allows very quick insights for team leaders into whether their team members are working according to the expectations.
I use Float weekly and can normally find the information I need very promptly and without much effort.
I use Float weekly and can normally find the information I need very promptly and without much effort.
What do you dislike about the product?
Coming from ServiceNow, which has powerful data filtering possibilities, I find this a little lacking in Float. For example, having a list of colleagues who have available capacity in a given month I find a little challenging.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Universal, company-wide allocation of people to projects is handled completely within Float. This makes it the single source of truth which everybody respects.
A visually clear workflow
What do you like best about the product?
Float visually organises the workflow in a way that's quick and easy to understand. The filters that help you compare different workflows are handy for overseeing the team's workload.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike is less related to Float and more how the internal tasks are underdocumented on it for my role. No complaints about the platform itself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps to organise my day in terms on focused work and when I am able to locate meetings. It reduces the interruptions during my focus time and helps to report the actual time used later.
2 year user review
What do you like best about the product?
It is very easy to get a fuller overview of distributed colleagues. I think it has a fine UI and can be navigated without problems. It is still simple to adjust things like time off and project length for someone who does not use it daily.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not think too many things come to mind, perhaps, it could be easier to sort/filter people to have a more specific view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Seeing which collegues have capacity and ability to assist on other projects
Float has changed the way I work for the better
What do you like best about the product?
Float makes time and task management simple. It's intuitive and easy to use. The team scheduling percentages is super helpful at demonstrating who in the team may be overloaded or who might have capacity. It's helped us get a better grip of our billability and share workload around more appropriately. Now Float is the first thing I check when I get to the office in the morning. I don't know what we did without it!
What do you dislike about the product?
I regularly have to re-set my password to access float. I'm not sure if this is a me problem or a more generalised issue. It would also be good if you could integrate Float into Teams
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Float helps us plan our workload in the team, and manage projects to ensure we are meeting client deadlines.
God workflow planning tool
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to see an short and long term view of team workload/ capacity.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be quite buggy - the filter menus someones miss some of our teams our, the and/ or search tool is irritating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Seeing where there are resource gaps in the team, tracking time spent on projects
A good way to view my schedule
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to quickly see what I've got on this week, as projects come in/out of priority.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be useful to be able to flag inaccuracies within the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me be aware of what my wider team is expecting to be delivered each week.
