An Awesome, Easy to Use Product!

What do you like best about the product?
I like how accessible Tines makes programming logic seem. You can lay out your workflows visually, which is a huge advantage when constructing automation from scratch. I like that public templates are available for you to get ideas from when looking to enhance what you are building. My favorite feature is how at the top-right of every Action box, you can see the numbers tick up as the story is passing through every Action. This helps me understand not only the breadth of information I am getting back from whatever API I am using but also how that data is being processed as it is exploded, extracted, morphed, etc., throughout the Story. The ability to Re-Emit an event from anywhere in the workflow has been an excellent advantage when it comes to troubleshooting and testing out tweaks as you are building.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside of using Tines is that sometimes I am editing a field in the builder, and I accidentally click off the text box, which causes me to lose whatever I was working on if I was in the middle of writing something.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The current problem I am solving with Tines is bridging the gap between technologies when there is no native integration between the products. Before onboarding Tines, I was working on a Python script to do some work between two products. This was an arduous task for me, as I am not a programmer by trade. I was almost at the point where I had to hand off the project to someone on the DevSecOps team, as it would have been too time-intensive for me to learn Python to complete the project adequately. With Tines, I could apply my logical side to the problem at hand without slowing down my entire project to learn a programming language on the spot. Now I have full creative liberty to create automation that improves our security posture.

Everything You Need and Nothing You Don't

What do you like best about the product?
Pure automation platform. Replaced our SOAR platform because of its simple and powerful design. A junior analyst was able to start automating after just a couple of hours of direction.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you need your SOAR to have a case management system, Tines will not work for you
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are automating Incident Response and communication between end-users and security teams
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Check tines out if you are considering other SOAR platforms. Tines' simplicity will blow your preconceptions about SOAR away

Promises continuing to be kept

What do you like best about the product?
After a couple of years of usage these are what I like about Tines:
1. The team's obsession with the customers requirements
2. Still a clean and clear interface
3. Tons of pre-built automations for common use cases like slack notifications and such
4. The teams quick response times
What do you dislike about the product?
We ran into some performance issues when our events size was high but we bumped up the number of workers and everything worked seamessly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Security Automation for incident response
- Ticketing and operationalization of the incident repsonse life cycle
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Their SaaS offering is cheaper and easy to use. But if you must have on-prem due to compliance reasons or such, use a terraform module or IaC tool to manage the configuration as the on-prem setup can be quite complex to maintain. But nothing too complicated but the general app layer + database layers and scaling them independently.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use & the ability for those that may not be familiar with programming languages to jump in and use the Builder to construct the desired actions.
What do you dislike about the product?
No downsides or anything that I dislike. The platform is simple & easy to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tines is continuing to save the organization valuable time via the automation of repeatable tasks.

A company thats more like working with coworkers than a vendor

What do you like best about the product?
Tines customer support and service is the best I've ever experienced. I find working with the people at Tines to be like working with my coworkers. They are quick to hop on a call or a Direct Message to help troubleshoot and fix our stories or answer any questions right then instead of a day or a week from the ask.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I dislike about tines. They provide everything I wanted in a SOAR and nothing I do not need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tines has allowed us to automate recurring alerts that would typically go to SOC analysts; we can now shift that burden to our employee base by automatically getting their input on why they did something. We also use tines to gather information from internal and external tools that our analysts would typically do themselves, but now we add that information in with the inbound alert to save time in triage.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do it.

Ease of use and easy extensibility

What do you like best about the product?
One of the main things that we've found is the ease of use of the product - it's easy to get up and running and automating simple stories. We've had people join our team and be able to do this within hours! Transferring from a simple story to a complex story is built out over time but it's easy to add extra features as complexity is needed, which really sets the product out from the crowd!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far - we've been using it for nearly 2 years at this stage. The team have been super responsive, and it's always great seeing some of our feature requests incorporated into the product
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security automation, incident ticket creation, enrichment and threat and vulnerability management lifecycle automations
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jump into a PoC or register for the community edition to see just how easy it is to use!

What do you like best about the product?
Tines is a fantastic tool for automating onboarding/offboarding. The integrations with all the SaaS apps helps with a lot of our onboarding automation. With Tines correctly implemented, we are able to save tons of time and effort. In addition to the amazing engineering, they have a top-tier support team that helps with the integration. Working with the team has helped me understand the tool, and it has given me new ideas on revamping many of our IT workflows and functions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to dislike. The app and services are great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Onboarding/Offboarding

Cloud platform duct tape: bind your vendor services together

  • April 22, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tines' approach of using simple primitives (HTTP web request, event transforms, binary logic actions) makes it easy to build complex workflows that interact with *any* service that has an API. Service X doesn't have Feature Y? You can create a workflow that does it yourself in a few minutes. Automate alert responses, keyword-based code review, to-read lists for software documentation, issue tracker management; the possibilities are limited only by your imagination.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some advanced use cases need some un-intuitive Liquid behavior (like converting to and from object). The team is very helpful when encountering issues, but empowering users to "do it themselves" would help. Default Liquid isn't very good at array processing. Implementing map/filter as Liquid custom filters would be a *huge* benefit for some advanced workflows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are currently automating our tier-one security code review with Tines, along with targeted threat modeling tickets for new software projects, alerting for secrets in issue trackers and documentation CMS platforms, and two-way syncing between issue trackers.

Tines has allowed our small security team to scale beyond what is possible with manual checks and ensure that our team spends our limited person-hours on tasks a human must perform.

Love Community Edition, So Powerful for Free Platform

  • April 14, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Working in a small Business, Tines gives me enterprise quality automation for free with their Community Edition. I signed up expecting there to be limitations on what I could do, but the only limitation is the number of use cases you can build-out; and I've already built out three full use cases, and I'm not even at the limit yet.
If I ever moved to a bigger company or got an increased budget at my current one, upgrading to Tines' full product would be my first priority.
The customer service in their slack community is absolutely brilliant; all questions are answered promptly and usually with a quick solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
To be honest there is nothing I can complain about given I'm not paying for it. Any problems people raise in the slack community is taken on board straight away so any issues or dislikes are unlikely to last very long.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Previously I would have spent a couple of hours a day on repetitve tasks in incident detection and response. Since using Tines I've freed up time in my day and also increased the quality of my output. Even taking into account building out my use cases, I had probably saved time by the end of my second week using it.
