Choose a correct software- NX

  • January 18, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is best software for all kinds of modelling; surface modelling, solid modelling and sheet modelling . It is very easy to operate tools. Rendering option are best and their is no other challenger to the software in this aspect. We also do analysis and CAM operations. Anwers through analysis are very accurate to analytical values. We can also make a sequence video of assembly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Rendering options are best but it takes too much time for resolution static image.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it for modelling of diffferent parts after initial portfolio preparations. Currently I am working on aerodesign.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Hello this is best software available for you in market and you can open other existing software files also very easily in this software.

An industry respected staple in the CAD World

  • November 06, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Comprehensive and intuitive CAD package with powerful inbuilt tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
Requires extremely capable PC to have any hope of running the software, so now running Fusion360 instead.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Better and more polished experience than Solidworks, AutoCAD or Fusion360 but requires significantly more processing capabilities.

Advanced CAD Software

  • October 25, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
NX has a great user interface which is similar to most CAD softwares making the learning curve that much easier. All the tools are arranged systematically which helps us to understand them easily. The drafting process is much easier in NX compared to other CAD softwares. This helps a new user to master the software quicker. The surfacing and sheet metal environment is much easier in NX and generates much lower errors compared to other CAD softwares. This helps improve the time for creating designs. The sheet metal environment is also great and works well with minimal errors. Another big advantage is the cost compared to SOLIDWORKS NX is significantly cheaper to purchase and maintain this is a big advantage as most CAD softwares are very expensive that it would be only purchased by organisations and not individuals.
What do you dislike about the product?
One big drawback is the poor assembly environment. Assembling complex models is possible but is much complicated compared to SOLIDWORKS or CATIA. NX should seriously make a huge improvement in this regard. Though NX has most features needed for CAD it still is not as equipped as other softwares in tales like multibody concepts. This is a major meanings for those who use this features and other CAD softwares. NX should bring a major update and provide advanced features to solve this issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Designing projects like sheet metal.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
NX is a great CAD software and those who need a strong sheet metal design software should consider NX.

What do you like best about the product?
The easy to use interface and touch screen compatibility.
What do you dislike about the product?
You need a little more guidance to change the settings on Nx.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have designed parts using Nx, as well as conducted some calculations from 3D images.

NX is a Good Tool and Easy to adopt for Industries

  • September 24, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
NX offers more powerful modeling capabilities, and is able to handle very complex geometry with ease. It is easily integrated with the Teamcenter PLM and makes it easy to control the versions
What do you dislike about the product?
Surface Modelling is little bit complex when compared to other Modelling softwares.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reduces the design time by having so many Tools in it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Well suited for companies that has design and manufacture in-house with a proper PLM software namely Teamcenter

Best experience with NX.

  • September 24, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
3D modelling and assembly modelling are best in NX. Also the environment is also user friendly and easy adaptable for beginners. Feature recognition and constraint consideration is also remarkable in NX.
What do you dislike about the product?
In NX, 3D modelling is best but working on sheet metal parts a is not satisfactory. Drafting environment is also not good as modelling environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problems regarding modification of different formats files are easily solved in NX by synchronous modelling . In synchronous modelling, we don't need part parameters based on which part is created. Synchronous modelling is most famous feature of NX. Finite Element Analysis in NX is also better.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are beginner for CAD modelling and drafting, then NX is best for you. Because the environment and features are quite user friendly in NX.

Modelling with NX(unigraphics)

  • September 19, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Its is best mechanical software available in market, its rendering options are too good like you can give material, colour gor each part and surface of an assembly. We get option to record while assembling such that later we can explain design to our clients in more effective way. This also provides CNC programing for the tool designed. We can do all types of analysis within this software, hence CAD, CAM and CAE can be done using this software itself and reduces cost used in buying licences for different software. We can do all kinds of modelling like solid, surface, sheet modelling, drafting etc using this software.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a costly software. Beginners would find some difficultly in using this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it for sirface and 3D modelling of parts. Currently I am working on boat design.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Guys this is best software compared to catia also, its function are easier and user friendly. Moreover even automobile gaints like mercedes is switching to NX from catia, so its better to add this skill in your profile.

    Design

Clunky and out of date, huge mismatch of features and logic

  • September 06, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The sheer power of the software allows you to make almost anything.
What do you dislike about the product?
Thread tool is woefully out of date. Only being able to hold either metric or imperial units in a part at once is crazy. Every other package can do it. Having all the tools in different areas for little to no logic. It doesn't follow conventional rules and standards that other cad packages have adopted. Error messages aren't always errors forcing you to read all the detail all the time. Simple quality of life and quick changes can be horrendous when one tool doesn't work in that particular way despite every intention of it appearing that way. It's stuck in the 1980s, unless you work in aerospace or on vehicles stay well away. There are better cheaper options out there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pressure simulations when designing vessels has been useful and meant the first moulding was fit for purpose. Made development easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Avoid. Too expensive and too much hassle unless you have decades of experience

NX/Unigraphics, all in one software

  • July 28, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
NX formerly known as Unigraphics is best software where every MNC is adopting. It is best software for designing and analysis. While assembling we can make video of it, which helps to present our project inmore effective way. We can do 2D drawing, 3D modelling, surface modelling, sheet metal, drafting, rendering, CNC programming and analysis. It has vest rendering options compared to other softwares in market
What do you dislike about the product?
It is bit costly software. It is difficult for freshers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
3D modelling, 2D drawing of mechanical conponents, surface modelling, drafting, sheet metal and CNC programming
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Guys it is best of all softwares. Most of the softwares are good in either CAD or CAM but this software is best in both of these and rendering option are too good.
