NW Review by a CAD Junky

  • May 14, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful thing about NX CAD and the upside of NX CAD are one and the same.

The developers at NX really take into account the user and how engineers 'think'. They focus on input received by real users and make constant improvements to make the CAD tool very intuitive and easier to use, with follow on inputs to make the next command more intuitive.

Really like how proactive the NX developers are with the software.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside is that it is a big platform software package. It's pricing point keeps many who would benefit from the software out. It's such a powerful tool, if there was a 'lite' version of it, to get the smaller companies into using it would be something worth looking in to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
NX CAD integrates approved models into the sub assemblies and overall assemblies for validation and correctness of form, fit and function. The design is proofed out digitally before it is ever manufactured providing huge benefits in cost implementation

I find the interface to be similar to other cad products making it easy to learn

What do you like best about the product?
I find that NX CAD is more capable to handle large assemblies than other CAD programs
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the menu features are difficult to find as the menu options share naming with other menus within the program. Some of the icons are too similar to others making it confusing for new users
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to rapidly integrate into large assemblies is key. Other cad softwares get bogged down by large assemblies where this one handles them well
