Ramp makes tracking my employees' spending so much easier

  • January 23, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ramp sends notifications and requests for information to my employees, so I don't have to. Simply using ramp keeps our spending reports up to date all the time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Ramp bill pay hasn't been as smooth as the credit card service, but it seems like they're working on it
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping up with employee expenses and employee receipts/reporting.

From a Glowing Recommendation to a STAY AWAY

What do you like best about the product?
We have used RAMP for about a year now. The immediate access to transaction receipts and field communication (photo submission) has been great for our team. The second piece we enjoy is the full class / category coding in app, prior to communication to QuickBooks. Lastly, the multiple virtual card features streamlined many platform interactions.
What do you dislike about the product?
We had our credit line reduced to ZERO after our January payment posted with absolutely no notice or communication. Field team went to use the card for gas, and was declined. I called thinking this was an error, and they said one of the connected bank accounts didn't show enough funds (there was plenty... 3x what initially verified to establish credit limits). Their RISK team reviewed and extended a credit limit which was less than half of original... Okay, I can get behind that as a temporary fix.

We posted a payment to zero balance and get below the limit... They then placed an up-to 5 day hold on the payment with a note that "normally these post immediately".

After multiple efforts to resolve, they are unwilling to give a response, post the payment, or restore the credit line balance - effectively leaving 5 team members without operational credit cards and forcing reoccurring transactions to auto-decline.

So, while I previously raved about this company - I unfortunately have to advocate strongly against them at this point given their complete lack of functional understanding. I cannot express how frustrating it is to have 6 figure balances in a checking account but be reduced to what we spend in a day on credit lines!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Formerly accounting integration and receipt management. The vendor segregation (per card or virtual) was hyper useful. Unfortunately, they broke down to unusable in recent days.

What do you like best about the product?
visibility, control, locking cards, placing responsibility
What do you dislike about the product?
Employees complaining that they get locked out for not complying with policies
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were a switch from Divvy and hated the budget controls for that.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to add receipts. virtual card option.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to add the memos, several times cards not received in mail
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
everyone gets their own card, no more need to share one. the card is not tied to one person, so no ones credit score is affected.

Ramp is a great corporate card with amazing accounting

What do you like best about the product?
The best part about ramp is how easy everything is organized for you, if I went to see every vendor I've ever transacted with in one view I can, and I can assign cards to other members of the team very easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish for the cashback rewards that it could be withdrawn to the company's bank and not just used towards statement credit as some of ramp's competitors allow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ramp is making banking for the corporate world very easily understood and for myself personally it makes banking very simple.

Ability to sign up for cards. Virtual cards as well
What do you dislike about the product?
Card does not appear on QB in the same way as our Chase CC

Very user friendly and easy to learn.

What do you like best about the product?
For our type of business it is being able to connect an expense to a job and class in QB. This is most helpful when trying to track all job expenses.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the app can give my employees problems downloading expenses. I have had 3 employees have to remove the app and reinstall to get it to work correctly and we only have 16 employees.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Just be more efficient with job costing and processing daily business expenses.

Great experience so far

What do you like best about the product?
I originally selected ramp because I didn't want my personal information to be attached to the card. The ramp features have been great to use but I feel that I'm still scratching the surface with it's potential. I haven't used the QB connection yet but that's the next feature I plan on learning and using.
What do you dislike about the product?
The paperwork seemed to be a bit heavy at first. I'm not a fan of uploading statements every month but I understand that it's part of compliance. I believe the portal can be improved a bit more. It's difficult at times to navigate. It took me almost 10 minutes to figure out where I can make a manual payment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm able to get a business credit card that is not attached to my personal records. It's providing me with good controls so that I can provide cards to my employees.
