What do you like best about the product?
I use Ramp for our credit card purchases and accounts payable. I appreciate how it makes collecting receipts super easy. You can just snap a picture and upload it. What I like most is the quick process, and it also helps me find out if something hasn't been approved and who is waiting on approval. It just saves a lot of time. The initial setup was fairly easy because the product is pretty intuitive. It guides you through setting up vendors, which is really helpful.

Great for Receipts, Costly for Compliance

  • April 29, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The single best part of using Ramp is that it has put a definitive end to “receipt archaeology.” Before the platform, we were constantly chasing staff for crumpled paper receipts weeks after a transaction; now, Ramp does the heavy lifting by automatically matching emailed receipts or prompting employees via SMS the moment a card is swiped. That real-time visibility has changed our month-end close from a multi-day administrative headache into a far more streamlined, automated process. By taking the friction out of expense reporting for employees and giving the finance team immediate oversight, Ramp has meaningfully improved our operational efficiency and, quite frankly, saved my sanity.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Ramp initially positioned itself as a “free” disruptor, its recent shift toward an enterprise SaaS model has created real hurdles for those of us responsible for managing taxpayer funds. My biggest concern is the growing pattern of putting essential infrastructure—specifically Audit Logs and US-based data residency—behind a “Plus” paywall. For a government entity, an audit trail isn’t a premium add-on; it’s a legal mandate. Needing a per-user subscription just to access basic transparency feels like a “compliance ransom,” and it’s extremely difficult to justify to a Board of Health.

On top of that, Ramp’s new fee structure for ACH and check payments is a major roadblock. They offer to waive these fees through a Treasury account, but Michigan state law (MCL 129.112) requires us to use institutions with a physical branch presence in our state. Since we’re legally prohibited from using their “fee-waiving” workaround, we’re effectively forced to pay a “transaction tax” on every payment. When these new fees are combined with a platform charge for procurement and a 25% jump in user pricing over the last year, the ROI for a public-sector entity essentially disappears. Overall, it feels like the platform is becoming increasingly optimized for venture-backed startups, rather than the unique, fixed-budget realities and compliance obligations of the public sector.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem Ramp solves for us is the administrative bottleneck created by the traditional expense report cycle. In a public-sector environment where staff are often stretched thin, manually reconciling receipts and chasing down missing documentation used to be a significant drain on our resources. Ramp has shifted that reactive process into a proactive one.

With real-time visibility into spending, I can see exactly where taxpayer dollars are going the moment a transaction happens, instead of waiting weeks for a statement to arrive. That change has helped me move from being a clerical “receipt chaser” to acting as a more strategic financial director, spending more time on grant compliance and long-term fiduciary planning. Just as importantly, it removes the burden on our public servants of having to use personal funds and then wait for reimbursements, which has been a major boost to departmental morale.

AI-Enhanced Invoicing, Needs Better Usability

  • April 28, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how Ramp uses autofilling and the new AI features to make processing and completing invoices and bills easier for me. It's especially helpful since I'm not an accounting person, and when Finance asks me for an invoice, I appreciate Ramp autofilling the details so I don't have to do it manually. Ramp completes the process quickly and also makes it clear where in the approval flow my billing requests are, so I can chase down the relevant people. Additionally, I find it convenient that Ramp integrates with Okta and Slack, allowing me to get notices in Slack and then sign in easily via Okta. Although I wasn't directly involved in the initial setup, the feedback I heard was that they were able to easily deploy it and integrate our company into it.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not that easy to use. The autofill doesn't do everything. Some of the flows are not intuitive at all, and some of the language is unclear so I don't know what info I need to enter. The language needs to be clarified and perhaps better tooltips.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Ramp to process invoices easily with autofill, saving me from manual entry. AI features complete invoices quickly, and it helps track approvals, so I know who to follow up with.

Effortlessly Manage Receipts Across Devices

  • April 28, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy Ramp is to use; submitting receipts is a breeze whether I'm using my laptop, phone, or iPad. It's so much easier than Concur. I appreciate that I haven't had to contact Ramp for assistance because I haven't encountered any problems. Submitting receipts from various apps is straightforward, and most of the time, Ramp automatically submits them for me. Even if it doesn’t, it puts them at the top for manual submission, making every interaction easy. As someone who procrastinates and doesn’t always wear my glasses, I find it convenient to switch between devices quickly without any hassle. I also find that Ramp’s setup is so simple and intuitive that even a toddler could use it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not found any dislikes so far!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ramp is so much easier than Concur. I submit receipts easily from any device without problems. It often automatically submits receipts, and when not, they're ready for manual submission. I don't need assistance as it's user-friendly, making the whole process smooth.

Effortless Expense Management with Accurate A.I.

  • April 26, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use Ramp for all my business travel expenses, and it makes it very easy for me to make payments without worrying about reimbursements or manually filling out reports anymore. I really like its integration with multiple systems where it automatically detects receipts and attaches them to the platform. I also love receiving text messages where I can fill out whenever I make an expense. The AI-generated matches are pretty accurate for the most part. The initial setup was super easy too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes Ramp asks me to fill out the fields for the same expense twice. After submitting the fields once, it looks like it's submitted, but then asks again after a couple of days to fill out ANOTHER field - that seems like it was required from my company in the first place - I just wish it would just have me fill out all the fields at once the first time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ramp makes it easy for me to manage payments without worrying about reimbursements, and I don't have to manually fill out reports anymore.
