Easy to use, easy to update
What do you like best about the product?
It's a really great, interactive way to show off our product. There are many tools out there we can do this with (e.g. screen recordings, building it out in figma, etc.) but this is the simplest way we've found so far. Because users have to click through each of the screens, it's up to them what speed they would like to click through the product tour (as opposed to a video or static image). I also like that you can add prompts and commentary and customize the colours based on your brand standards. If there are additional steps that needed to be added after the tour has been created, it's really easy to edit and upate.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would love to see more integrations between Storylane and other software tools. The tracking wthin Storylane is handy but having it integrate with the rest of our tech stack would be idea.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to show and not tell. Being a B2B SaaS company, we can get into the habit of writing a lot of copy and leave it up to the audience's imagination to figure out how it would actually look and feel.
Very pleased with Storylane!
What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of creation and editing has been huge for me.
We do a lot of new deployments; things are always changing. So being able to easily edit and republish has been a lifesaver!

What do you dislike about the product?
Personally, the only thing I would ask for is a couple more adds to the "batch update" feature.
Otherwise, I have nothing else I've found that I'm even remotely unhappy with.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our onboarding process was clunky, aggressively long, and difficult to edit/manage.
Having the ease of editing coupled with analytics to tell where our pain points are has been great!

Easiest Companion to Setup Interactive Demos
What do you like best about the product?
StoryLane was the fastest to implementation of new demos of all the products we tried, and we felt that the produced demos were of the highest fidelity - a nice one two punch
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I was not able to do was simply record a video demo version rather than scraping html or screenshots to piece together, but our #1 priority was the latter there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
StoryLane is both going to serve as qualifying leads to our website to get a better understanding of our application to see if they want to move forward in speaking with our team, as well as content for user guides for users.
Great interactive demo creation tool!!
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and features make it our favorite tool for creating interactive demos for our products.
What do you dislike about the product?
We found no issues so far, everything is running smoothly for our team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed an easy tool to created fast interactive demos for the users or our software products as it helps exposing them in a nice, visual manner.
Extremely easy product to use!
What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful part of storylane is the ease of use. Capturing screens from our app and creating eye catching videos takes very little time compared to its competitors.
What do you dislike about the product?
At this point in my Storylane journey I wouldn't say I have run into any downsides or dislikes. The only feature I would love to see would be a Zoom feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storylane is solving a time problem I had. P{rior to Storylane, creating this type of content would take hours. Now it just takes about 30 minutes.
Clever tool with lots of possibilities
What do you like best about the product?
A great way to show off products and provide helpful information for users
What do you dislike about the product?
There's no way to exclude internal visitors from your analytics, e.g. team members with fixed IP addresses
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to show off a relatively complex product without needing a human demo
Customers can sell themselves!
What do you like best about the product?
Our sales process can get messy, and often times we rely on lower management to pitch the product to upper management. This is not ideal but is the nature of our sales cycle. Storylane enables lower management to pitch upper management in an engaging and convincing way. They share their Storylane interactive demo link and the personalized demo does the selling for them/us. We have more confidence in our sales cycle thanks to Storylane.
We are a startup and most of Storylane's competitors did not have pricing that would fit our needs. We would've been paying for way more users than we actually needed. Storylane works for enterprise and start-up businesses!

What do you dislike about the product?
I have not run into any issues so far. The product is simple to use so I have not needed to contact support, which is really nice. They understood the needs we had and made sure we were signing up for the correct tier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Thanks to Storylane we are able to empower our potential clients with a tool that allows them to sell our product to their management. During the sales cycle, it is difficult for us to get in contact with the main decision-makers, Storylane can help bridge that gap.
Competitively priced with great features
What do you like best about the product?
Signup and onboarding were easy, with the promise of support and some exciting new features coming soon.
Competitively priced to other more established solutions, some generative ai, text-to-voice, prompting and more.
Simple browser extension plugin that allows you to seamlessly:
- Record screenshots with smart linking, scroll etc., as you click, kind of like a video (you can't remove or blur small sections of your product here)
- Record HTML perfect for highly detailed editing of sensitive info; you can manually edit, adjust and set up as you like.
- Easily add to existing demos or create a new demo
Some of my most used features are the following:
- Find & Replace is great for editing out large sets of sensitive information across multiple screens.
- Test-to-speech prompts
- Edit HTML is amazing for editing screens, especially when developing content for feature releases that are still in production with our team or customising certain fields like options of dropdown menus.
The team are very supportive and responsive. Arjun has been amazing support so far.

What do you dislike about the product?
Depending on the complexity of your product the HTML editing can be tricky and isn't always easily editable or responsive. You'll need to have a decent understanding of coding, so there may be a steep learning curve.
Our main demo product has 100+ screens, all containing multiple sets of highly sensitive information. Navigating through these can be quite tedious, you also need to make sure you unselect "apply to all" pages when linking.
Navattic has a better interface if you want to be able to demo mobile apps.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're working towards product-led growth. A solution we hoped to address was allowing the target audience to view a curated demo and also be able to play around themselves after - so we could look to see where they saw the most value, but also perhaps where they don't understand the benefits our solution offers them.
We also use it to train new staff and clients - as a step-by-step guide with text and hotspot prompts explaining the features of the product.
We haven't had a chance to play around with all features yet, but we will also look to add video and images to some of guides.

Great tool, very easy to use and very intuitive
What do you like best about the product?
Very intuitive, all the functionality is there and the CS was great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing yet. Everything looks good so no negative comments.

Creating flexible content
The perfect alternative to video walkthroughs
What do you like best about the product?
We currently use an animated video walkthrough on our homepage to show users what they can expect when they subscribe. It takes a while to make these videos, and with recent UI updates, they need updating regularly.
Storylane solves this by being super fast to mockup a demo environment and make quick changes to text, layout and anonymising data. What took days to make a video update will be a few minutes with Storylane.
My favourite feature is the HTML capture. Instead of taking a screenshot of the page, it captures the HTML, allowing you to easily modify text, delete popup elements and link buttons to other pages.

What do you dislike about the product?
There's a few technical issues I've come across.
The 'apply to all' feature on some parts can be too easily clicked, undoing previous work, tooltips placed on wider screens don't adapt for smaller screens and the blur feature still allows the end-user to copy and paste the text it's blurring.
But these feel minimal and would likely be fixed quickly.

I animate each video when we need a new walkthrough because of a UI update. That involves:
- Taking screenshots of the updated pages and anonymising details in photoshop
- Re-writing, re-recording and editing new parts of the voiceover
- Re-animating where the mouse moves, with new mouse-over animations
- Making different versions depending on where a user is in the funnel.
Storylane solves most of this:
- Editing screenshots is as simple as clicking on the screen where to anonymise.
- There's no need for a voiceover as it's all written in popups.
- There's no need to animate the mouse as the user moves their own mouse.
- Making different versions is as simple as typing a few new words.
This saves me days of time. I can instead put my effort into building out the demo environment so it's more interactive and make additional walkthroughs for different aspects of the platform for customers at different stages.
