Meltwater has been a helpful tool, but can be a bit too manual
What do you like best about the product?
How customizable the searches are when calculating our clients' SOV

The manual process of labeling each search
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to grab clients' SOV at any point is very helpful. Allows our team to show our understanding of the competitive landscape.
It's an incredible analytics tool
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to understand and navigate within. It provides us with exciting data to better segment our campaigns. Their staff is always willing to resolve any doubt and support our requests.
What do you dislike about the product?
It took sometime to get use to he correct use of the software. At first it took longer than expected to get the epected info. Later, when we got use to the software, everithing became easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Find the proper segmentation for our digital campaigns to get better results that are more cost-effective and drive more consumers to our products. Also, finding the right influencers for our campaigns has become easier with Meltwater products.
Has a lot of power but some issues to work out

There is a lot you can do with the tool and you can create Dashboards to show information

Despite tailored Booleans, you get a lot of junk in the data

Helping client understand their SOV and social conversation
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have a specific purpose/use for it and know what you want to get out of it
A little difficult to get used to but useful information once you get the hang of it
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater is a useful tool for pulling media contact lists and reports. Instant alerts for articles & social media hits.I have not used any competitor products.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not as intuitive as most products so takes a little time to get used to and a little trial and error. I attended an in-house training and did some google searches to get a better understanding.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can pull lists of social media engagements and conversations happening on specific topics or in particular industries and make recommendations to our clients based on this. We also look for hashtag counts and keywords used on social media.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take a tutorial or guided lesson before jumping in.
Always investing in the future and great support team

The team at Meltwater is one of the best things. In addition to this, their continued commitment to what's next in the world of social listening.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform is sometimes clunky but any issues are always sorted quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding my clients, the market, and what is being said about them through one centralized platform.
Waiting for better posting tools
What do you like best about the product?
Reports are good. The tool is user friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
The social media posting is still not good enough.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reports and comparisons to other pages are good and save time.
Many functions that requires a lot of practice to use the tool.
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater has many different features and an excellent support team if you have questions & comments. I'm using Klear and Audiense for my work, which has developed my thoughts.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unfortunately, it's a bit opaque how Meltwater obtains data, and I don't find it meaningful to evaluate target groups, etc., over a part of Twitter followers. In general, the data of the other socials, especially Instagram, is missing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is still difficult to define a use case for my work for the reasons mentioned above. But it is interesting to see what possibilities Meltwater can offer when other social media activities can also be monitored in the future.

I love how detailed Meltwater is and how much it can be used across our business and teams to drive insight and results

I would say that it's a bit confusing at times what each tab/part does - this could be a tad clearer

Solving identifying audience behaviours and deep-diving into what audiences like if they are a certain fan, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get yourself someone like Ingrid Gerber who can show you the ropes - she's great!

There are some interesting visualisations such as word cloud and top territories.

The social media account management (loading in Instagram / Facebook pages) isn't manageable timewise.
Am yet to find a use case that makes the tool essential for our day to day.
Data access is largely tricky. I'm not aware of a way to easily export and interrogate data.

The tool has proved beneficial adding extra detail to our descriptions of an artist's audience.
Benefits are largely from a PR angle as it stands. It helps us look aware of our audience. We're yet to translate this information into actionable insight.

Self-service all in one portal with different pillars on tracking, monitoring, analysis, management

Some functions are not intuitive, and they are more steps to get to your objectives for some of the functions
