Powerful, Feature-Rich Platform for Reliable Large-Scale Web Data Collection
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Bright Data is the breadth of features and how powerful the platform is for large-scale web data collection. It offers a wide range of proxy options and data collection tools, which makes it really useful for many different research and development needs, especially for my research project where I need to extract privacy policies and webforms. Another great advantage is that it integrates well into technical workflows and gives a lot of flexibility for handling complex scraping or crawling tasks. I also appreciate that the customer support is responsive and helpful when problems come up. Overall, it is a feature-rich platform that is especially valuable for users who need reliability, scale, and strong integration options.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, I found there were almost no downsides. One area that could still be improved is adding a direct comparison chart or a simple decision guide to help new users choose the most suitable proxy or tool for their needs. That said, Bright Data’s documentation is already quite detailed and helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As an academic researcher working on usable security and online privacy, I often need to collect web data at scale in a reliable and efficient way. Bright Data helps address this challenge by making it easier to access public web data, manage proxy infrastructure, and handle issues such as blocking, rate limits, and large-scale crawling. This saves me a great deal of time and effort that would otherwise be spent building and maintaining the infrastructure myself, dealing with CAPTCHAs and website blocking, and debugging integration issues. As a result, I can spend more time focusing on the actual research and analysis instead of the operational side of data collection.

The setup seemed extremely simple, and creating what I needed took much less time than I initially thought.

The documentation seemed a bit hard to understand at first, a more comprehensive guide could have helped more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helped me build scrapers for websites that seemed near impossible to build in code without some extreme level of knowledge in the subject.

What do you like best about the product?
Bright Data feels like a big step forward for non-technical users. I’m genuinely proud of what I managed to do: even though I come from a media production background, Bright Data helped me set up monitoring and scraping for posts from 100 influencers I follow. That setup lets me analyze their content and repurpose it for my own audience.
What really stands out is that it works across platforms you can’t simply dump into ChatGPT in bulk. If you try to pull even a handful of links, you can get blocked. With Bright Data’s proxy and scraping infrastructure, though, it’s actually doable.

What do you dislike about the product?
Over the past year, some really convenient AI features have emerged for creating scraping setups from just a single URL, and it’s genuinely powerful. That said, I’d appreciate a bit more flexibility up front—specifically, the ability to specify exactly what data I want to extract from posts right away, rather than waiting for the scraper code to be generated and then immediately having to ask the AI agent for changes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Bright Data to scrape thousands of posts each month from hundreds of influencers I follow across 10 different social networks.

It was the only solution we found that handled all of our needs.

I really like Bright Data's very efficient support and how easy and straightforward the initial setup was. The availability of datasets is something I value a lot.

It is all fine. Maybe a tutorial on data scraping with some hands-on sessions.

I use Bright Data for teaching and my students' MSc thesis, and it solves dataset issues efficiently.

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Bright Data, especially the AI Scraper Studio, which allows me to automate many processes even as a non-technical user. I find it great that it lets me create complex scraping automations and structure data with just one or two prompts, making it accessible to non-techies like me. Previously, I was supposed to do tons of development and testing for every single website, whereas now it’s just a URL and a prompt.
The initial setup was super easy, and the interface is clean, with all the information readily available. Their extensive documentation and a great YouTube channel with recommendations and how-to videos make everything straightforward.

You should have a certain level of understanding of how things are working in the scraping space, but it's not the problem of Bright Data. It's just overall there is a certain threshold for entering the scraping world. And so, yes, basic knowledge is still necessary. Though I cannot say it's a Bright Data downside.

I use Bright Data to automate scraping processes with very little technical skill, creating complex scraping and data-structuring automations. It's perfect for accessing secure, complex websites (i.e. Gartner) with premium proxy infrastructure, making tasks possible that were difficult before.
Three Years In, Still Excellent Support
What do you like best about the product?
Bright Data offers a very reliable platform with a wide range of tools for web data collection, proxy management, and data extraction. What stands out most is their customer support. We have been working with them for three years now, and they have consistently been responsive and helpful. I once raised an issue about a feature we needed, and even after more than two months, they only got back to me after it was fixed and asked me to test it. That level of follow-up is rare and shows real commitment to their customers.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform asks me to log in every time using an email confirmation code, and I use it every day. I don't know why it isn't saving my credentials, unlike the other web-based platforms I use.

Bright Data helps us solve several business challenges related to reliable web data access, large-scale data extraction, and proxy infrastructure. It allows us to gather the data we need efficiently and with greater stability, which supports our analytics and operational processes.

What do you like best about the product?
I liked that it was very easy to collect data that I needed for my research. Nothing was awfully complicated!

N/A. There's nothing I can think of at the moment!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is a struggle to access data for research purposes, specifically when it comes to social media posts and comments. Collecting enough information that fits the requirements I needed (e.g. filtering for specific content of posts during specific timeframes) was a key challenge of mine during the research process, and Bright Data helped with this.
Exceptional Support with Smooth Integration
What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate how prompt and always available Bright Data's staff are. Even when an agent doesn't have an immediate answer, they give it their best to resolve the problem. Bright Data has exceptional customer support, and their whole team collaborates with the best interest of the client in mind. This level of support makes it easy to expect good customer service. Bright Data's customer support is truly the best in class, which is a huge reason why we are not looking elsewhere for an alternative vendor. Additionally, the setup has been quite easy, the technology and documentation on Bright Data's website are very intuitive, the data is provided really quickly, and the whole process is quite smooth. The size of their database is one of the biggest, and their pricing is very cost-effective compared to some of its competitors.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing, to be honest, is that at the present, they only return a gzip file format for compressed information. Unfortunately, we require it in a ZIP format. It does mean that we have to build quite a little bit of technology to accommodate with our needs. But what they have said is that they are going to send that to the engineering team to potentially consider that for a future improvement on the roadmap.

I use Bright Data to get specific employee data to improve the 360-degree view of companies, filling a data gap we had.
