Bright Data’s MCP Integration Made Large-Scale Research Scraping Effortless
What do you like best about the product?
As a Master's thesis researcher with limited technical background, Bright Data's MCP (Model Context Protocol) integration with AI assistants completely transformed how I could work with the platform. Instead of navigating complex APIs or writing custom scrapers from scratch, I could simply describe what I needed in natural language and the AI connector handled the rest. The platform's interface is clean and intuitive, making it easy to set up and monitor scraping jobs even without prior experience. Whenever I had questions, the documentation was thorough enough to resolve them on my own, which kept my workflow moving without delays. Performance-wise, collecting and filtering over 6,000 LinkedIn job postings for a global workforce study was fast and reliable. Given the scale of data I received and the time it saved, the pricing felt well justified for an academic research project.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main limitation I encountered was with batch processing through the MCP integration, which required sending many separate requests to cover my full dataset rather than handling it in one go. A more generous batch size or native bulk-processing option for AI connectors would make the experience significantly smoother.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For my Master's thesis, I needed to collect thousands of job postings from LinkedIn across multiple languages and countries, a task that would have been practically impossible to do manually or with basic scraping tools. Bright Data solved this by providing reliable, large-scale web data infrastructure that could handle the complexity of multilingual, multi-country data collection. The AI and MCP integrations meant I could access and query this data without needing to be a software engineer, which was critical as a solo researcher working under time constraints. The result was a dataset of 6,000+ job postings that forms the empirical foundation of my entire thesis.

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy Bright Data is to use; it's truly plug and play. The customer support is fantastic—they're super responsive and involved, which is so helpful when issues come up. It's especially valuable that we're not blocked by proxy issues for too long, allowing our B2B SaaS platform to scale effortlessly. As a seasoned developer, I can confidently say that the setup was very easy, and even less technical users would be able to integrate it with ease.

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Bright Data for providing many different levels of solutions and using the latest technologies. It's nice that students can scrape in JavaScript or work from Python with Scrapy or Selenium, which can be set up conveniently. The Bright Data proxy manager offers great insights into the scraping process when used locally. The team is very enthusiastic and charming, frequently providing guest lectures from business and technical perspectives, and they brainstorm relevant research ideas with us.

It's quite expensive to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bright Data helps with web crawling and scraping by avoiding blocks from websites. I like that it offers solutions at different levels with the latest technologies. It supports both JavaScript and Python users, making setup with tools like Scrapy or Selenium convenient.

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate Bright Data for its quality and stability of service, which keeps everything running smoothly. I also like the outstanding quality of their ServiceDesk, as I've always received quality responses, no matter how complex my questions were. The proxy services and remote browsers are a big help in scraping websites with strong anti-bot detection. Setting up Bright Data was very easy, which added to its appeal. I use Bright Data for website scraping and as a provider of proxy services.

Bright Data provides proxy services and remote browsers to help with web scraping on sites with strong antibot detection. Their service quality and ServiceDesk support are excellent, helping me understand their offerings and usage.
Long Setup, Connection Issues, and Unclear Customer Fit

Nothing, no human chat support or clear communication

They have a very long set up process and do not work with people who want to use their products for management, this is not clear on their site and I had many connections issues before they told me I was not an acceptable customer

They have great Customer Service and were able to resolve my issues quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have had a couple issues with the service, but I do not blame Bright Data themselves as that is the nature of the service itself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bright Data is allowing me to scrape YouTube transcripts from a variety of channels in order to build a personalized knowledge base. Bright Data's pay as you go made them the most efficient option for me as a monthly plan would not be fully utilized.

The extracted data was very structured and granular. The customer support was very helpful and replying very quickly

I’ve used the scraper, and it was fast and accurate for a good price. I also liked that I didn’t have to write the scraper myself.

It offers a wide range of proxy options and data collection tools, which makes it really useful for many different research and development needs, especially for my research project where I need to extract privacy policies and webforms. Another great advantage is that it integrates well into technical workflows and gives a lot of flexibility for handling complex scraping or crawling tasks. I also appreciate that the customer support is responsive and helpful when problems come up. Overall, it is a feature-rich platform that is especially valuable for users who need reliability, scale, and strong integration options.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, I found there were almost no downsides. One area that could still be improved is adding a direct comparison chart or a simple decision guide to help new users choose the most suitable proxy or tool for their needs. That said, Bright Data’s documentation is already quite detailed and helpful.

As an academic researcher working on usable security and online privacy, I often need to collect web data at scale in a reliable and efficient way. Bright Data helps address this challenge by making it easier to access public web data, manage proxy infrastructure, and handle issues such as blocking, rate limits, and large-scale crawling. This saves me a great deal of time and effort that would otherwise be spent building and maintaining the infrastructure myself, dealing with CAPTCHAs and website blocking, and debugging integration issues. As a result, I can spend more time focusing on the actual research and analysis instead of the operational side of data collection.

The setup seemed extremely simple, and creating what I needed took much less time than I initially thought.

The documentation seemed a bit hard to understand at first, a more comprehensive guide could have helped more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helped me build scrapers for websites that seemed near impossible to build in code without some extreme level of knowledge in the subject.

What do you like best about the product?
Bright Data feels like a big step forward for non-technical users. I’m genuinely proud of what I managed to do: even though I come from a media production background, Bright Data helped me set up monitoring and scraping for posts from 100 influencers I follow. That setup lets me analyze their content and repurpose it for my own audience.
What really stands out is that it works across platforms you can’t simply dump into ChatGPT in bulk. If you try to pull even a handful of links, you can get blocked. With Bright Data’s proxy and scraping infrastructure, though, it’s actually doable.

What do you dislike about the product?
Over the past year, some really convenient AI features have emerged for creating scraping setups from just a single URL, and it’s genuinely powerful. That said, I’d appreciate a bit more flexibility up front—specifically, the ability to specify exactly what data I want to extract from posts right away, rather than waiting for the scraper code to be generated and then immediately having to ask the AI agent for changes.

I use Bright Data to scrape thousands of posts each month from hundreds of influencers I follow across 10 different social networks.
