What do you like best about the product?

Our cybersecurity firm has been using Bright Data for several years. We started with a relatively small amount of traffic, but our usage has since grown considerably, and we now consume a substantial volume on a daily basis. We also work with several other proxy providers, which gives us a useful basis for comparison, and Bright Data has consistently stood out as the strongest overall provider in our experience, even though its pricing is somewhat higher.

Network resilience serves as our primary imperative. Given our traffic volume and business nature, a low failure rate is essential, and Bright Data supplies unwavering infrastructure with negligible failure rates. We also place significant value on the persistence of the IP addresses we receive. Unexpected IP changes can interfere with our workflows and require adjustments on our end, so advance notice of any changes is particularly important. Bright Data has proactively communicated such changes ahead of time, giving us the opportunity to prepare rather than react to unexpected changes in the environment. That level of predictability makes the service much easier to incorporate into production systems and is a major reason we have been able to rely on Bright Data.

In addition, their support team is knowledgeable, responsive, and willing to invest the time needed to investigate problems thoroughly. On several occasions, they have helped us isolate issues that ultimately turned out not to be caused by their infrastructure, rather than simply redirecting us elsewhere. We have also appreciated how receptive they are to feature requests. This was true even when our spending with them was considerably lower than it is today. Just as importantly, they communicate openly about product decisions. When they cannot implement a requested feature, they make an effort to explain the reasoning rather than leaving us without context.

From an administrative stance, the platform is straightforward to manage. Proxy configuration is uncomplicated, resource tracking is precise, and the management tools are convenient for day-to-day work. Their documentation is also well organized and extensive, making it easier to understand the various products and integrate them into our workflows. We also value the transparency regarding pricing, billing, and consumption. Having clear pricing and good visibility into how much of the service we are using is important when dealing with significant daily traffic volumes.

Another important consideration for us is compliance and responsible IP address sourcing. As a cybersecurity firm serving sensitive industries, we place considerable weight on the provenance of the IP addresses we use and on working with a provider that demonstrates a clear compliance posture. Bright Data gives us that level of confidence, which is an important factor in a business environment where these considerations cannot be treated as an afterthought.

IP address diversity is an additional area where Bright Data has been particularly effective. Some other providers are able to accommodate our unique, rigid requirements only by supplying contiguous IP address ranges with special configurations applied to them. Bright Data, by contrast, is able to provide a genuinely diverse set of IP addresses, which is much better suited to our use case.

Bottom line, the combination of dependable performance, capable support, thoughtful communication, straightforward management, comprehensive documentation, transparent billing, and ethical and diverse IP address sourcing renders the additional cost worthwhile in our case.

For our volume, Bright Data's charges are higher than that of rival providers; however, the overall value we receive justifies the additional cost.

As a cybersecurity firm serving sensitive industries, we are limited in the specific details we can share regarding our use case. However, we can confirm that many proxy providers only offer contiguous IP address blocks that meet our strict technical requirements. Because these predictable IP address ranges are easily flagged and blocked by target systems, connection streams are frequently interrupted. Bright Data provides us access to a genuinely diverse global pool of IP addresses, meeting our technical requirements without forced subnet clustering.

What do you like best about the product?

What I appreciate most about Bright Data is the transparency throughout the entire data setup and collection process. With other providers, you often have no choice but to purchase massive datasets without truly knowing what’s inside. Bright Data, however, provides a user-friendly interface that helps me clearly understand what data I need and how to access it most efficiently. Furthermore, communicating directly with their account managers allowed me to gain deeper insights into the data. Through these collaborative discussions, I actually came to better understand what specific data I was truly looking for. This whole experience enabled me to access data in the most transparent, logical, and reasonable way possible.

What do you dislike about the product?

What I find challenging about Bright Data is how to handle scraping requests for public domains that are not currently covered. As an individual user, asking for a custom scraper build feels like requesting too big of a commitment from the company, which makes me hesitant to even submit a request. It would be a huge improvement if there were a dedicated system to receive requests for new, unmapped domains, even with no guarantee of fulfillment, and then build scrapers for the ones that are feasible.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Through The Bright Initiative powered by Bright Data, I was able to successfully complete my Ph.D. dissertation. While I strongly believed my research topic carried significant societal implications, I was initially lost on how to actually collect the necessary data and bring the project to life. Applying for the fellowship and collaborating with Bright Data’s account managers changed everything. Beyond simply providing data, knowing that others recognized the value of my topic gave me immense motivation and encouraged me to think deeply about how to effectively share my research findings with a broader audience. With the continuous support and guidance of the managers, I gained valuable insights that helped frame my research so it carried real-world relevance within professional settings as well. Whenever I get the chance, I actively share information about this fellowship with my peers, and I wholeheartedly recommend this opportunity to other researchers. What do you like best about the product?

Bright Data has given us a more consistent way to run and manage our data workflows. Before, we relied on a mix of scripts and libraries that were often run from local machines, which worked, but made it harder to keep track of what we had and maintain a consistent way of running everything.

Moving those workflows into Bright Data has helped us consolidate that work into one platform. We also like how well it integrates with the other tools in our stack, which lets us trigger workflows from the systems we already use rather than treating Bright Data as a separate, manual step.

Overall, we have better visibility into our scripts, a more consistent execution environment, and less operational overhead than we had with the previous setup.

What do you dislike about the product?

We haven’t run into anything we’ve disliked so far. Their support team has been responsive whenever we’ve needed help, and they’ve consistently provided guidance as we’ve gotten familiar with the platform.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Bright Data is helping us make these workflows more reliable and easier to incorporate into the rest of our systems. Instead of spending time maintaining one-off execution paths or working around differences between environments, we can focus more on the workflows themselves and how they support the broader product.

The integrations are also valuable because they let us connect Bright Data to tools we already use and trigger work as part of existing processes. That has reduced some of the manual coordination involved and made the overall workflow easier to operate.

What do you like best about the product?

Using the UI to view sample data was a really nice feature, it made it easier to verify the accuracy of my filters and ensure the data looked right before purchase and download. The documentation was great, especially for LLM integration to assist with a larger pull from the api.

What do you dislike about the product?

Nothing in my experience so far. The data is very messy but that is expected for user-supplied LinkedIn data and is not something I would expect (or want) Bright Data to clean.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

I am using data obtained from Bright Data for academic economic research; without them I would have had to abandon my current project for lack of data, or learned to build a scraper myself which would have taken weeks or months. Instead start to finish took a couple days.

What do you like best about the product?

Bright Data provided outstanding support throughout the project, and the data quality and relevance were excellent. Their team was consistently responsive, helpful, and highly professional, which made the entire process smooth, efficient, and easy to manage from start to finish.

What do you dislike about the product?

The AI query generator isn’t very powerful yet.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Bright Data provided free access to LinkedIn data through an academic agreement, which was extremely valuable for me and my team. The data and support enabled us to produce valuable research insights that would otherwise have been difficult to obtain.

we are scraping technology adoption data from news records. the brightdata platforms' tools has been very helpful in making large scale scraping possible

Hard to think of any downsides. X coverage has now been improved. Keep an eye on estimated volumes and plan costs before risking a large collection.

I like that Bright Data is easy to use, making it simple to set up the scraping process for both technical and non-technical users. The support system is good, with a dedicated partnership manager to speak with. I appreciate that the outputs are in files that can be used in any software, like Excel or Google Sheets, so it’s easy to sort them without losing any information. I also enjoy the drag-and-drop simplicity and the availability of pre-built scrapers, which save time and reduce the need for programming knowledge. The convenience and ease of use are very beneficial to me.

I don't dislike anything particularly about Bright Data.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Bright Data helps me scrape large scale Zillow data reliably and outputs structured data easily. Its ease of use with pre-built scrapers and drag-and-drop simplicity ensures my team can use it quickly, saving us time and making file management straightforward.

What do you like best about the product?

I really find Bright Data helpful for obtaining data in a more accessible way. The data is affordable and of high quality, which makes it ideal for my research. I also appreciate their customer service, which is very thoughtful and meets you where you are. It’s very helpful to have appropriate filters for data to ensure thorough, detailed, and accurate analyses. The ease of setup was great too, largely because their customer service team was very open and available to answering questions.

What do you dislike about the product?

While filters can be really helpful, it is sometimes difficult to effectively sort through the data and clean it. I think this is a problem for broader data handling in general, too. It would be really helpful if Bright Data could make the cleaning process easier. I've been really happy with my experience with them, but improving the data cleaning process would be great.
