Airtable is an intuitive tool with limited functionality

  • July 21, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is an easy to use database collaboration software. It's easy to collaborate on a BOM within an engineering team as long at it's not a large team. I really like that you can make personalised views with custom filterings.
What do you dislike about the product?
Airtable is expensive for start-ups when the team becomes larger. Export functionalities are limited. Adding documents to airtable is not recommended to do. Complex formulas are not possible in Airtable. UI can be a bit non-intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed to make a bill of materials (BOM) for our hardware product, which was intially doable within Airtable. However, you quickly notice that the functionalities are limited for this purpose.

Diverse cross between database and spreadsheet

  • July 18, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is our systems for managing all of our data, using integrations we link records with Eventbrite, Asana, MailChimp, etc. We then use automations to complete workflows. As a non-profit, we use this for event, donor, and community management. There are a wide variety of templates available, but knowing how to build out your own is worth the time and effort.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's missing direct integrations with a lot of tools that would be extremely useful. We make do with Zapier as the link, but we would love to see additional tools, especially a direct sync with Gmail that would allow us to track incoming/outgoing mail.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Airtable in place of a CRM, building it out was no easy task, but was worth the effort. We rely heavily on automations for workflows, especially around donor management and engagement. The built-in interfaces also allow for easy reporting for our board and key stakeholders.

Visual Organization

  • July 17, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I'm a visual organizer and that's the best way to absorb information. Airtable's color coding, and clear design in all templates are the best features. This color variation and not overwhelming visual elements allows for a streamlined workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not actively dislike anything about Airtable. In fact, I wish my current organization would swift to Airtable. I believe I'd like more learning resources to be easily available so I can be best prepared for when I use it next!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable is not only great for task and project management by having easily editbale tasks and descriptions, but by being able to seamlessly implement status updates and files into it. You can also work in a calendar view, which is incredibly helpful when working on a Content Calendar.

Great product let down by non-existent support

  • July 16, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Relatively powerful substitute for an SQL database, very helpful for building pre-product MVPs and keeping cleaner datasets than spreadsheets.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few small niggles, such as the inability to join based on foreign keys, but the biggest thing is the lack of support.

We are a paying customer, on the pro tier and today I had a response today to a functionality query two weeks after raising it, to basically say "sorry your question is too complicated for us to answer it".

Apparently their support team got decimated in Airtable's recent round of layoff's and - when you have an imperfect product - that's is a pretty big issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Per previous comment helping create more solid data structures, also automate to som extent workflows

The automations are capable enough to run a small business flawlessly.
The list of possible plug-ins is never ending.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing could have been more moderate for smaller teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automation of emails as per sheets.
Reminders.
Tracking of inventory.

Airtable has digital file sharing

  • June 23, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use surveys and input systems that are linked to more complex levels of knowledge that our group uses to make strategic and operational decisions, as well as for CRM purposes. Lets multiple users take on specific roles according to the particularities they require. To illustrate, the community manager and the communications manager can generate and distribute material from the same database. Airtable addressed our desire for a solution that was flexible and had a low barrier to entry, because all of our employees must be able to feel comfortable and fluid during their interactions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The distinctions between membership classes are important and a lot of benefits are added in the Pro Plan class.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable fits well in workplaces with a high or total percentage of digitally native people. Our workspace can be intuitively customized and in combination with templates, have the ability to experiment with functionality and understand the importance of bricks. In all uses of Airtable, it handles the management of the 6400 m2 site, handles applications for space, roles and dates, models financial viability and has timeline features.
