Essential for managing business these days - office tool of current decade
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is very intuitive to use, fast and a great way to manage data. I often use their forms to collect data and then slice and dice, filter, alter it as needed. The colourful labels are a nice plus as well. And auto-generated, self-updating dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there would be a better way to customise the background design of their forms - adjust the colours and the intro text style override, but it is not that big of an issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I like that I can collect all kinds of data - the usual text entries and also uploaded files, all in the same place. Also, easy access with team or clients. And it works much better / smoother than Google Sheets or MS Excel.
Great tool for light data needs with very little overhead
What do you like best about the product?
I found Airtable back in 2016 as a volunteer for a local civic institution. I learned to use Airtable in very short order and was able to create complicated solutions (bases) to manage our business processes. We used Airtable to completely transform the way we tracked payments and advertising submissions, reducing our error rate to almost zero and increasing our receipts.
What do you dislike about the product?
Airtable is great if you like exactly what Airtable offers. Its lack of UI customization is a minor hindrance but does mean that some of the processes are more cumbersome than I'd like. Additionally, the inability to easily and automatically look up data from other tables without manual intervention is challenging for infrequent and sporadic users. Finally it is just a bit too easy for users to change parent information; it is not clear to them when they are in a different table and need to change the attached record, rather than change the value in the parent record.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I run the technology portfolio for a municiple drama program for 5th-8th grade youth. We need to manage the names of the actors and their parents, track their financial contributions, as well as all submissions to our playbill, then use Airtable to ensure that all the advertisements and "good luck messages" purchased by the community, friends, and family actually get printed.

My Airtable Experience
What do you like best about the product?
Everything is organized and easy to find, it is pretty easy to work with and you can pretty much know the trajectory of your work on a daily basis. It's a great experience on a daily basis.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I dislike about airtable. Maybe the colors here and there but aside from that it's pretty ok with me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting one job to another, identifying which tasks are available and which people can you put down on their designated process. It benefits us cause it gives a good view of our daily progress.
Simple, Effective Data Management & Collaboration Tool
What do you like best about the product?
easy to build relational database for people who don't have to be that technical.
What do you dislike about the product?
targeted support. Making it easy to get better at aspects of the product I'd like to get better at
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration, visualization, and tracking of our data.
As easy as possible to use
What do you like best about the product?
I love that Airtable is so user-friendly. I don't have to repeatedly use "help" to find the functions/options I want, but the help is helpful! I spend less time on admin and more time on organizing my data (which is synced with Zapier) for whatever query I need. The free account does 99% of what I want.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a little more allowed monthly internal automation on the free account.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allowed me to build custom-linked CRM and client session databases without having to source out to an expensive service.
Love Airtable!!
What do you like best about the product?
I use Airtable for data and project management across various teams. I love that it is very easy to use so onboarding a new person takes minutes not days.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish you could archive bases. I also wish there were more options for organizing bases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data management in one place is a huge time-saver.
Airtable is a great tool for just about any project.
What do you like best about the product?
The thing I like best about airtable is how versatile the product is. I use it instead of spreadsheets (in some cases). I use it as project management tool. I also use it to communicate with team members.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that Airtable doesn't have built-in reminders for tasks assigned to team members when it is used as a project management tool. If it had that simple feature, it'd be a game changer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable is helping me to manage project that contain teams with various levels of skills, from different departments. For example, I use it to oversee the design and development of products from beginning to end. Designers, developers, copywriters and other stakeholders can all be on the same page.
We run our entire business out of Airtable, and couldn't recommend it more.
What do you like best about the product?
Airtbale is feature-rich, but highly customizable. You can do anything that just about any other productivity platform can do in Airtable, but you can shape it around your specefic workflow.
I have a background in computer science but have moved to a more creative, less technical career. Even though my new work is less technical, I often found myself wishing I had the time to spin up a database and write some apps so we could have a CRM and automation perfectly customized to our needs. And then, my nerdy friend showed me how he used Airtable (I think to organize his movie collection), which literally changed my life.

What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have a whole lot of complaints! It can get a bit messy with larger processes and more complicated workflows, but most of my complaints are being addressed with the new Airtable Connected Apps platform. The 2-way sync feature coming in 2023 will simplify our processes significantly and, depending on the implementation, fix most of the issues I currently have with AT.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable solves a lot of problems in regard to planning, scheduling, communication, and organization. Keeping track of our leads in all lead generators would be next to impossible without a solution like Airtable. We've also been able to use it to keep track of our project and customer information, so our whole team can be informed and leave a great impression on all our clients.
User-defined but easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
It's fairly intuitive and easy to find tutorials and help for things that aren't clear in the software.
I like the various ways I can sort and see information and it makes tracking information clear across multiple dashboards.
I really like that I can lock down what people have access to or not by linking databases-- for example, we let our coordinators see and help populate our rolodex of clients and collaborators, but that rolodex base feeds our CRM and staffing databases that they do not have access to, so we can keep financial data only accessible to owners and accounting.
I love that I can set up forms to fill out and that they're relatively easy to populate on mobile!

What do you dislike about the product?
As someone who isn't a coder, I find writing formulas to be a lot more difficult than they are in other spreadsheet or database softwares. It took me a long time to figure out how to write something as basic as, take the date in column a (our invoice date) add the quantity of days in column b (net terms), and give me the due date.
I also wish there were better exportable templates for basic documents, for example-- we use Airtable to track our contracts and invoices, and I use page-builder (which is a great tool by itself, actually) to generate an invoice from the data we type into airtable, which makes billing incredibly easy. But, I had to set that invoice template up myself from scratch. Stock templates for basic standard business forms would be really helpful.
I know that airtable isn't a scheduling software per se but a lot of my project work involves planning and scheduling of complex projects. I like the Gantt tools but I hate that I need the top-tier account to get them (and I don't use any of those other features). Even that is ok, but, there's no simple way for me to add dependencies with leads and lags-- we tried to write formulas for these ourselves but got into bad circular-reference loops and couldn't get the calendar to look the way we wanted. I actually ended up building out my task lists in airtable, copy-pasting into microsoft project, doing my leads/dependencies work there, and copy-pasting it back (then updating manually). It worked for the short project I needed it for but wouldn't be a good solution for a long-term or more complicated project. I'm actively looking for a new piece of scheduling software so if building out better scheduling tools is high up in your dev pipeline I'd love to hear about it before committing to something else!

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's a bit arcane actually but AT allowed me to build out the CRM system of my dreams and easily teach it to my business partner, who's a designer/technician and doesn't have a lot of management software background. At the last company I worked for we had a dynamic workflow that involved multiple pieces of software to track client onboarding, bidding, contracts, payments, cash flow, and invoicing; When we started our new business I had A LOT of ideas about how to streamline all that into one place, and for us that's Airtable. It's not perfect and it may not scale if we grow significantly, but right now, at any moment I know exactly how much revenue we've made this year, how much we should expect to pay in tax, how much each partner should expect in income based on commissions etc, which invoices are overdue, and what our forcasted cashflows are for the next 30/60/90 days. It's brilliant because it's so simple and I can look it up on my phone while talking to the bank, so we can make quick decisions and give clients and advocates the sense that we really have it all together. In practice, I can generate an invoice in about 3 minutes, which just saves us so much time.
