The Best Personal & Professional Management Software Around
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of airtables is what drew us to it originally. Now, with more than 6 years of use, I can say it's the best "brain dump zone" I've ever used. From tracking clients and projects, to literally planning our Holiday Card Mailing Addresses and favourite bottles of wine, Airtables has my back.
What do you dislike about the product?
There have been so many new additions to Airtables over the year, sometimes I think I'm not getting the best out of it! Have to carve out time to tune into the videos and updates more :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management 101. Airtables makes it so easy for our virtual and in-office team to stay connected and on top of things. And as we grow, we're not losing track of things as much using it.
Offsite storage with regular support!
What do you like best about the product?
Overall it is easy to use for beginners and ramps up for the advanced.
What do you dislike about the product?
Ensure it is HIPAA compliant. Implement forced capitalization and various types of masking. Add the capability to use signatures.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Track members, set reminders for activities, manage time sheets, upload photos, log in and out of activities, and submit trouble tickets for tech support.
A wonderful analysis platform with awesome interface capabilities
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable data is easy to shape and visualize. It's a go-to tool for mapping out different options.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish airtable interfaces worked on my mobile phone.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me analyze different options. I also collect information and use it as a weekly reflection and planning tool for my personal use.
Airtable is an easy way to manage data for personal and professional use
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable brings data management and comparison to the masses, creating a solid alternative to a static spreadsheet application like Excel without the complexity of setting up a SQL or MS Access database. It's perfect for personal and home use as well as professional use. There are many limitations to it, but I would call it the "MS Word" of data management. In a similar way that Word is nowhere close to as powerful as Adobe Indesign, it serves a different purpose: a proconsumer oriented product that is accessible to everyone and achieves enough goals to be of value to most people.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's very difficult to manage hierarchical data, such as a one-to-many relationship. Having the ability to view nested tables, like in MS Access, would greatly improve this functionality, or at least having a separate view option for linked records than the standard search window that pops up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable is providing a way for me to organize information quickly, easily, and freely at home. For business, I believe paying for the product provides immense value to sharing data and information across the company in a very accessible format.
Airtable revolutionized my classes in the countryside of Brazil
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is the most innovative, valuable, detailed platform to catalog data. I mostly use it to organize my students' names and contributions, and it has helped almost 300 students in Brazil's countryside to go beyond expectations and contribute actively.
What do you dislike about the product?
At first, it was quite complicated to get the gist and start using Airtable easily. However, after more than a year in the platform, I can see I understand it very well. Nevertheless, I think there should be more tutorials and an easy-guide at the beginning of the platform experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a teacher, I need to organize who my students are, what classes and projects they're a part of and how to call them (e.g., which pronouns to use). Therefore, Airtable helps me do all of that quite faster, so I can focus on studying and producing better graphic materials for my classes.
A user-friendly database that fills a gap in the market
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable makes it easy to create a visually appealing database with various view/sort options, functions, and attachments. I feel this visual aspect is unique in the market and sets Airtable apart from its competitors. It is intuitive to use, even for those new to Airtable. The attachment field and various view/sort options- especially the calendar view- are my favorite features, as they are much easier to set up in Airtable than they are in similar software.
What do you dislike about the product?
Airtable does not support as many formulas as standard spreadsheet softwares, and I find myself missing that functionality. While I understand that Airtable is meant to be a database and is not meant for complex calculations, I feel there is room to add a few more features. I also find that the plan pricing doesn't work for me as an individual user. I use several of my bases daily and would gladly pay for additional features, but the features I'm interested in aren't available in the plus plan and I cannot justify the price jump for the pro plan. The verbiage also leads me to believe that these paid plans are meant for teams rather than individuals.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I primarily use Airtable bases to keep track of my home inventory for insurance purposes, but I also have several bases set up to track various aspects of my life (productivity, health, wardrobe) as well as a few that serve as collections (books/media consumed, recipes, etc.). I was drawn to Airtable in particular due to ease of attaching images to entries and ability to quickly display my entries in various ways depending on how I want to filter my data; it would require a lot of effort on my part to achieve the same visuals in standard spreadsheet softwares. Airtable ultimately saves me time because I can spend my time inputting data rather than tinkering with formulas and view options.
Airtable, a database for teams big or small
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable stands out for its user-friendly interface, making it an accessible database for my team and me to find specific information. We can easily share this information with internal and external stakeholders. Moreover, Airtable consistently introduces new features and updates without compromising its core product.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you’re not tech-savvy, Airtable can appear quite intimidating. Another aspect that I struggle with is the pricing. It quickly becomes quite expensive if you want multiple users to have more permissions than “read-only.” This barrier has unfortunately prevented us from adding all of our team members and tagging them for updates or tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I manage a growing team, and Airtable simplifies the process of sharing essential documents, logins, contact information, billing details, and more. It’s like the internal workings of our company!
Great platform
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is a great platform for keeping data in one place. Unlike excel it is easy to view everything in one central location. I love that there are so many types of data fields that I am able to make it work for whatever I am doing. It is easy to use, has a fresh, clean and visually pleasing design. It is very capable for both complex and simple use. I really love the automations whicih help create so many efficiencies.
What do you dislike about the product?
Airtables is such a great platform; there is not much that I don't like. The free version is great to use, although there are several features in the paid versions that I would love to have access to, but unfortunately, the paid plans are a bit too costly. Airtables does have an app. However, I think it would be cool to see an app developed for sharable views. At the moment, I create a shareable view and then paste the link into a shared document so that employees have access to the information they need. For example, company policies and procedures, industry stnadards and regulations, leave request forms, risk assessment forms, and incident reports. These are currently all separate links; however, if there was a way to centralize them within an app that the employees could log into to instantly access all shareable views, this could be very helpful for our business.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtables has given me a central location to store all the vital information of my business. The shareable views also helps me allow access to this data without having to worry about it being changed or deleted.
Easy to get started, scalable and always developing
What do you like best about the product?
I found it really easy to learn and get started with and the help articles generally showed me how things worked and, where applicable, the logic to keep in mind. Airtable is really adaptable and as powerful as you'd like to make it.
What do you dislike about the product?
There wasn't an automatic form view to balance the rows. Though you can create loads of forms for different needs, the creation of them is a bit fiddly. I also found lookup fields bringing other fields from another table along sometimes really helpful but sometimes messy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We went from using a spreadsheet and a bunch of disparate Word files saved in different places in Dropbox to having an adaptable database with Airtable that pulled everything we needed together in tidy ways. By creating different views for different purposes and a bit of automation, we saved masses of time, had much more clarity and could share selections of automatically updated information with other people as needed. Integrations with other software also added to the quality of our work with Airtable.
Intuitive, flexible tool with a dynamic breadth of capability
What do you like best about the product?
Our team was able to self teach on getting onboarded and we quickly got most of our organization on board. At its core, it's easy to get into, but the capability is a mile wide if you continue to dig.
What do you dislike about the product?
The proofing tool could use some work. This was perhaps the biggest sticking point for our team in getting universal adoption. If they worked on upping that capability, they'd be ready to take on just about any PM software out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team needed to be able to prioritize what we were working from a higher level than task-based, and Airtable has allowed us to self manage so much within our own team to not only assign work, but to be able to prioritize projects against one another.
