Airtable is making Project and Data management easy
What do you like best about the product?
It's been a year using Airtable. Data management and Visualization is the best feature of the Airtable.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am using Airtable since Jan 2021. I didn't feel any disliking to airtable. Everything is fine and good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Daily data management and visualization of data. Project management
Useful platform, just not as intuitive as I’d like
What do you like best about the product?
I really like being able to work across teams from home, seamlessly tagging each other for tasks or to respond to questions. It's nice that each person can customize their view in the way that's most streamlined for their workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the features aren't terribly intuitive, and I haven't been able to find solutions by searching. For example, one view I use has a really convenient search bar at the top, but I can't find any way to make a search bar appear on other views. I also don't like that clicking on a notification opens it in the view the sender was using; I rearranged my views so that my approval fields appear next to the field I need to approve, but the notifications open it in a different view so I still have to scroll around to find what I need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We find it useful for organizing our social media workflow; it makes it easy for all of us in remote locations to quickly move social posts from drafts through design and posting while keeping the details for the post and conversations about it all in one place.
Organization for all your needs
What do you like best about the product?
I love that AirTable provides you with prefabricated templates for so many different logistical tasks. You can easily implement and edit their templates. I love that it is an app for my computer, phone and ipad. I can use it for work, I can use it for the grocery store, I can use it for every day life.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wouldn't say I 'dislike' anything. But I think the filtering options can be a little better. They can be confusing when trying to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a blog editorial table, a campaign calendar table, a to-do list table, a trade show logistics table. It is updated in real-time for all shared users. It is a perfect way to stay organized and take out the need to send constant email chains.
Airtable for sorting priorities
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable allows a group of collaborators to store, share, and collaborate information, and attach documents. The information might be ideas, inventory, tasks, or something else. Also the onboarding and training is so simple and not time intensive.
What do you dislike about the product?
The paid version is expensive. I would like to color code records, but the cost is $20 per month which is quite a bit. Initially it was set up with separate paid spaces and then trying to get everything onto an enterprise plan was a huge headache.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to customize or choose a template for table is great. Being able to have multiple tables so all areas of a team can track their items, but still have everything visible to the entire team in one place is so helpful. The timeline view is especially helpful in content planning and marketing communication planning.
The Missing Tool for a Creative Problem Solvers
What do you like best about the product?
How often have you seen people try to house information in an Excel spreadsheet when they actually want a database? Airtable combines the functionality of a database with the user experience standards of Google Sheets -- maybe even better in many respects. Relating tables, categorizing and summarizing information, and building repositories are all better here than anything else I've used. If you are the type of person who can't program, but knows how you'd want to build a tool for yourself and colleagues, you've got to try Airtable.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the platform is just a LITTLE too paywalled. Some of the best features to visualize data, for example, require an Upgrade to advanced features. I would be more likely to recommend providing this tool as an option for more people in my organization if I could demonstrate the complete value easily, and with real examples. Airtable offers Pro capabilities for inviting users like candy, so I don't think this would be too hard for them to improve upon.
I have also experienced some challenges with users not really understanding how to input data in the Grid view. As far as I can tell there isn't a good way to add clear notes/annotations as instructions, to ensure data quality, etc.
There is some suggestion that Airtable is enough to replace more structured project management tools. I think it's a bit of a stretch for a team to realistically implement self-service, but you certainly can build mini-apps to support business processes. I guess I'm not surprised their messaging has shifted, but I think the free-form nature is the real benefit (not that it's a great project management tool, because it's not until you take a template and rework it for your needs).

Tracked receipts; managed client budget allocations and assignments; tracked personnel; built forms for end users; set up collaborative mood boards; built web analytics data dictionaries; organized sales materials...
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The only barrier of entry for a solo user is the time to learn it. Give it a try.
If Excel met Google Forms
What do you like best about the product?
The functionality of Airtable is the best! The ability to use forms connected to all the features that make Excel so powerful makes this a must have for anyone
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no downsides that I have come across other than the price - the free plan is sufficient for most applications but the paid plan does allow you to do things like brand your forms
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable is very important for us in event planning, RSVPs, helping us build data tables and databases and much more. Our clients also love the ease of using airtable from their end. We are very happy with it
Good software for high-level project overview and management
What do you like best about the product?
Many different views for campaigns and projects within campaigns. Tagging is also very intuitive and useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Difficult to create smaller, more granular subtasks for each campaign, project, task, etc. You can only look at a campaign from a high-level overview.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team primarily uses Airtable for project management and planning. It's helpful for planning out all aspects/projects that are required for each campaign so we can plan ahead.
Overused
What do you like best about the product?
It is a great way to maximize data previously stored in a spreadsheet. It offers great views and data segmentation options.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is trying to fit into too many spaces. I don't find it effective as a Kansan board or content manager. I think they should stay focused on the database features and maximize ways to view and share the data stored. Increasing the number of products integrations offered for free and simplified integration processes would also be beneficial.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organizing and sharing a roadmap of work. We have managed to consolidate the data into a way that is meaningful, but it would have been easier to do and share in a tool created for this purpose.
A good tool for collaboration but sometimes confusing to use
What do you like best about the product?
It's beautifully designed and looks modern. It is suitable for collaboration with a larger team without sending redundant emails. You can group and filter easily and uniquely.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a massive adjustment for first-time users. If there is someone in your workplace who struggles with technology, it is a giant leap from more straightforward methods of sharing progress.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it to track my work and personal projects and recommend the software to others when I want to collaborate. I am more organized and communicative when using Airtable.
Organize and share in real time!!
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is always live. If you make any changes to the content, those you share the workspace with can see the changes as they are being made.
What do you dislike about the product?
Getting used to AT being live is a learning curve so "at first" I didn't like that. Give it a little bit to get used to it and it will be the thing you love most!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We do a ton of stuff on AT, where I work. Personally, as an order processor, we keep track of our orders here. We enter the orders to the table and change status as they're moved from OE all the way through fulfillment.
