The perfect way to create a comprehensive database for your project

  • November 27, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is a great app for tracking activities and multiple tasks. The application is easy to use for everyone, and provides a set of ready-made templates that can be modified in a way that suits the nature of the project being worked on. The customizable columns provided by Airtable enable you to form an integrated database for the project, in addition to that it contains many tools that facilitate the process of data management, so that all team members can access the data they need and also extract reports in a practical way that saves time and effort.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing worth mentioning, the application has a distinct user interface, how to customize work tasks using Airtable is a unique method, making it suitable for small companies as well as giants.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I like Airtable's way of integrating the tasks that all members of the work team enter. This process is one of the best I've seen, as it forms programs that are easy to track, and give tangible results in correcting problems in a timely manner.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend using it, especially for startups, as it will help them manage tasks in a professional manner.

As essential as slack

  • November 26, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Airtable delivers powerful composability, collaborative editing, interconnection, and inter-references.
With google sheets, you can do collaborative editing in a limited spreadsheet-focused way. Airtable allows the killer features of customized views, meaning everyone can work on the same data underneath customized views of it at once. It can be shared and restricted in fine-grained ways. The De-duplication features are hugely powerful.

I'm firmly convinced that airtable is as essential to the future of (information economy) work as slack is.
What do you dislike about the product?
Could use more self-referential analytics, better ways to view audit logging and edits executed. Snapshots are great, but the ability to undo changes by users would be a nice addition.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My volunteer team has used airtable as a collaborative database for Aghan evacuees. https://blog.airtable.com/when-military-veterans-embarked-upon-a-mission-to-evacuate-allies-from-afghanistan-they-turned-to-airtable-to-operationalize-it/

"“It started off as just a normal Gmail account. The early team got a few victories and all of a sudden there were hundreds, if not thousands of people emailing saying, ‘Please help me, we're trying to get out of the country,’…The emails were concise, and devastatingly desperate,”

Initially, the team took these emails and populated them into Excel with links to Google docs, but finding specific information in that spreadsheet was time consuming. There were too many rows of data, and no easy way to create customized views. On top of that, the information wasn’t being updated in real time. They considered using a different form tool, like Typeform, but it didn't solve their problems navigating and updating their database. This disparate system was slowing them down, until another volunteer suggested migrating everything to Airtable."
"“Having that single source of truth is critical. When it was in Google Sheets I didn't sleep at all, but now that it’s all in Airtable and that we’ve turned off Google Sheets it makes it much, much easier to sleep at night,”"

My Team at IBM uses it to create a central registry of IBMer Experiences and Products for serving internal needs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out and get started ASAP

Amazing Tool

What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is very intuitive and easy to use. You can self-learn and after a couple of days, you already can create your tracking tables.
What do you dislike about the product?
It could be easier to connect to other tools. The API / Automations features should be more complete
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I create different types of tables, from project tracking to the appointment of working hours.
Also, I could consolidate many excel spreadsheet into just one table environment

It's a more streamlined spreadsheet platform; more options than native spreadsheet apps

What do you like best about the product?
I love how the templates open up options for creativity. Sometimes, my team will stumble across a template for our business and end up implementing it into our process because AirTable is so user-friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's a slight learning curve, but once you get past the notion that Airtable is just for spreadsheets, you'll start to see how powerful a tool it can be. For instance, we mapped out bug tracking to Airtable as part of our weekly sprints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're able to map our bug reportings, connect our backend user database and share user notes with each other, create a task/process manager with easy modules to show the status of each step. We use it throughout our organization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Find AirTable templates that you can fork or leverage, and test them out for yourself. With Airtable, I find that once you see what someone else has done, you're more inspired to try it out for your own team.

Planning, tracking and sharing information

  • November 23, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Use it for project planning but for easy onboarding
What do you dislike about the product?
The one that I wish you could do is to email a file to a project. It would make is so much easier to have people email what needs to be updated. Eliminates a step.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Because of working with different non-profits and small businesses, having a place where they can easily view summaries I put together is a time saver for them and myself.

Effective but not outstanding

  • November 23, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The colors are excellent, and it is visually appealing. The flow is easy to follow, and it is user-friendly for the most part. It is useful for the growing demand for remote workers since multiple employees can access and collaborate on projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn't stand out against the competition, especially for the price. There are free applications that do almost the same things as airtable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workflow and scheduling. Good for tracking project progress and budgets. Allows all members of the team to see the status of projects.

  • November 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Having a great user experience while managing data is the best thing I like in this application.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having so many sub modules in it makes harder to understand the main point of application.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quickly uploading files such as CSV, Excel etc. by using great UI.
